  1. I think those that don't get vaccinated are just a bunch of <deleted> with no thought for anyone but themselves. Eventually I believe they will reconsider, as it already has become, no vaccination, no air travel, no visiting age care facilities, not allowed on public transport etc. etc.
  2. Same here. Initially I thought we will wait until things start to get back to some form of normality, perhaps September October this year. However, it seems there is no rush to drop this "confinement". I for one cannot see the attraction of arriving there and then spend x amount of time in a hospital or some hotel room. Not to mention the additional cost or the risk of insurance companies going under or not being covered due to some small print.

    Oven glue

Nothing will stick to the baked enamel finish on the oven, silicon least of all. Even if it did, RTV is an acid cure and not good at all around food preparation areas. You might be able to try "scratching up" the surface and pre-cleaning with alcohol cleaner prior to use of a "neutral cure " silicon. This is normally available at electrical shops/ outlets however, the rubber itself is a slippery mother material so back to square one I'm afraid.
  4. Pretty sure bluesteel have outlets in Thailand these days for complete steel frames and trusses. In the early days in Thailand these were produced by some offbeat company and the results were shocking to say the least. However, bluesteel know their stuff so no more problem there.
  5. Similar but not the same....there was this New Zealander who found by using a large propane burner, the cooling effect from the gas bottle could be used to cool down his beer in a cooler box. So he set the whole shebang up in his basement but sadly found he had to drink the whole carton of beer to compensate the heat from the large propane burner. ????
  6. Damage like this to the rear truck shows a rather large difference in speed. Doubt very much it was "tailgating" , more like sleeping or talking on the phone and didn't see the truck in front stopped.
  7. Depends...what is "raw" butter?
  8. Rubbish !!!! ....what you propose would see the kid loose interest and dump the idea. simon43 reply would get them going really quickly and retain interest. Can always go to lower level programming at a later time if they still find they need to go that way.
  9. Yes, both those are for use in emergency and I fear they would not look upon a "holiday trip" to be classified as an emergency. Usually the facts are in the details required and unless actually doing an application, the contents appear to be hidden away. I have contacted the Sydney Consulate by email so will see what transpires from there re-passport expired entry, otherwise it just becomes a "should be ok" thing and end up being shunted back to Aus on arrival. Thanks for the input, appreciated.
  10. Both passports would have the same name as we were married in Thailand in 2012 and her expired passport carries her married name. The original 2012 passport was due to expire in 2017, so when she moved permanently to Australia in 2016, we had a new passport issued. This passport expired in 2021, all were 5 year passports. Current Thai passport expired. Thai electronic passports are not renewed, rather a new passport is issued. The $60 quoted for a new Thai E-passport from Sydney is the Consulate quoted price in Aussie dollar and is valid for 5 years. Canberra ( who would want to go there) can issue 10 year passport for $90 Austrlian dollar quoted price. https://sydney.thaiembassy.org/en/page/89619-thai-passports?menu=5d847cc315e39c21b800619b Any of the temporary travel document or emergency passport are for just that, emergency use.
  11. In Aus it shows the Thai passport cost at AUD$60.00 She is in Aus at the moment as I originally showed.
  12. Yes well, that is the cost but I was more after the actual process i.e. how to and where to get etc. Then again that is more than the original idea of applying for the 60 day tourist visa while still in Aus.
  13. No problem what so ever but then the question would remain, would she then be required to have a 60 day visa like I intended to apply for, or as someone pointed out, visa exempt and then 30 day extension. That sort of raises another question as well. I have been there both on multiple entry visa and 30 day visa expempt on a few occasions but never had to apply for an extension. What would the latter process be?
  14. Wife is Thai and has an expired Thai passport and current ID card. She has Aussie citizenship, planning to get her Aussie passport, and thinking of travelling back to Thailand perhaps September October this year depending on the Covid situation and the entry requirements. Only option for getting a new Thai passport in Australia is for us to travel down to (at least) Sydney and not real keen about that at the moment, plus it's rather a large financial output just to get her Thai passport. For myself, I was planning on a 60 day Thai tourist visa as we wish to stay at least 6 weeks this time around. I would imagine the only way for my wife to enter under current passport circumstances i.e. Thai passport expired but would have Aus passport, would be for her to get the same 60 day tourist visa as well. or, is it possible for her to leave Aus on an Aus passport and enter Thailand on her expired passport? Looked in the Thai Consulate web sites here in Aus but could not find any relevent details. Anyone here have any experience with a similar situation. Failing that I may have to call the Consulate in Sydney and get some direction for there. Cheers Jorgo
  15. Seen quite a few videos on the subject of "tourist" versus "long stay" and most seem to be of the opinion that the tourist would normally be here for maybe 4 to 6 weeks, spend all their saved holiday money and <deleted> off back to their homeland to earn more until next year. In contrast, the long stay appear to watch their spending so it will last for whatever length of time they decide. Positives on both I'd imagine but I am in the former group, and as already stated, there are already visas to cover most of the above. It really looks like a way to raise some extra money from drongos who know no better.
  16. Never seen a properly fitted, well designed helmet come off yet in an accident. Except for the obvious......
  17. Yep, agree....whenever they run off the road, those magnetic trees suck 'em up no worries every time.
  18. Hell, here we go again........
  19. If you look up the model of your phone on the web, it will show you exactly where to change it. Below is just a general example although I would NOT do any factory reset like they say there. https://joyofandroid.com/use-old-android-phone-as-wifi-only-device/
  20. So what.....water is off for a few hours ...you poor fella. I've been living there when water goes off for days at a time and one had to wash clothes with water from the local liber. I just accepted it.
  21. It used to be that , if you were currently licenced in your home country, (such as in Aus) you were ok to go here. I believe it was changed a couple of years ago and now one requires an international licence. Same rules apply though re-you must have that current licence in your home country. Not difficult or all that much of a layout for peace of mind and cover from any insurance policy you have. I think the Aus one is around $40 for 12 months. I would not take a chance on not having it, this is Thailand and when it comes to an accident, you need to be in the "right" as much as you possibly can.
  22. Hehehe,....where there's a will there's a way. Can't tell me "they" didn't see that coming.
  23. As a longstanding qualified lecky, I am really amazed at how they know what is what in those wiring rats nests.
  24. That's the way...take passengers from one of the highest infection areas in Australia and give them priority.
