  1. Nor have half the taxi bikes around, see all the white plates?
  2. They do a rubbish job, no sex workers have heard of them, no one has seen them out and about bringing awareness. I would not be surprised if the people in this article which got HIV caught it i Pattaya
  3. Instructions only tell you how to assemble units, doesn't tell you the complicated stuff
  4. One of the reasons people copy is condo offices charge rip off prices, mine charged 700 baht then after complaints lowered it to 300 but usually you can get them much cheaper. For my front door only 10 baht for fob on lazada
  5. That sounds like the worse insurance company in the world, they should cover his medical bills then claim from the driver
  6. Office should be able track who is using a copy card then issue fine maybe
  7. Doesn't surprise me at all, Pattaya for example, biggest brothel in the world has zero STI awareness places, thai people are clueless. There should be numerous places people can get PrEP to prevent HIV, incl to increase awareness. I've mentioned it to a few girls, none have heard of it
  8. I'm used to sweating all year round, apparently good for you
  9. I bought an IKEA kitchen and a friend and I fitted, mainly friend, you do need some expertise i.e. cutting hole for sink, tiles etc, i would have used IKEA but they were booked up for a month+, so use them unless you can't wait. You have to go to store and go through plans, sizes etc. Definitely not as simple as assembling other furniture
  10. There will be exceptions but crossings are best avoided. A difficult road to cross is 2nd road outside central. Then there's Thepprasit, another level, vehicles think they're still on Sukhumvit
  11. Probably best advice is don't use zebra crossings then you'll be alert always crossing the road
  12. I stayed in an apartment when i first bought my bike they let me keep it there when i went back to UK for 4 months, so stay in a place that allows you to store it there, it's in their interest for repeat customers, maybe less busy condos will allow it also
  13. If someone has a private pension and dies any remaining fund value should be distributed per will or go to wife, subject to tax. The thai person in question would need to be in the Will, otherwise she'll get nothing. The falang should have thought of that but we are in Thailand after all Maybe do a google search of "what happens to private pensions on death"
  14. local sims are so cheap just get one, 50 baht and stick 100 baht on
  15. I do about 25k km per year cycling and on a motorbike and i reckon it's safer than walking, always exposed walking in Pattaya, but in both the accidents reported this week, they are tourists who don't seem to know how dangerous the roads can be
  16. Apparently those ladyboys can be noisy. I'd expect the older condos to have thicker walls and so quieter, but of course depends on neighbours and loud talkers. View Talays. My place is usually quiet then a rogue Dutchman stayed for a couple days with a nightmare booming voice, truly a neighbour from hell
  17. No one got CCTV from nearby cameras? police usually get them straight away
  18. The pharmacy on Buakhao at top of Soi Honey has Bodyguard 56s, like gold dust
  19. That looks like Thepprasit, not just 1 drain but loads all the way along one side so far
  20. the last transfer i did they gave a warning that if the transfer is cancelled they may impose extra charges next time, fair enough, people trying to game the system
  21. You aren't protected by the £85k\100k euros compensation scheme, but they they have to keep customer money segregated away from their money
  22. i take a screen shot and translate using Google lens app
  23. Yeah i think he just decided that traffic is meant to stop so I'll walk out, that's a deathwish attitude, maybe he's a tourist and doesn't understand how it works here
  24. i tend to avoid zebra crossings, safer that way. I'm guessing more info will come out today or tomorrow about the accident, nothing yet
  25. That crossing is deadly because people are going 60kph and don't want to stop. You can't just walk out though in Thailand, must ensure traffic has stopped
