And will the Public be paying attention to the new Laws in maybe 5 or 10 Years time ? Probably not ! The new Laws are worth only the effort of the enforcement, which we all know will be close to Zero. -
Industries should adapt amid energy crisis: Energy Minister
Cake Monster replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This is just another statement from a Minister that is totally out of touch with reality. The Industrial Sector has probably already made most, if not all, and more of the adjustments to their manufacturing processes that the Minister has suggested here in order to remain competitive on the Global Market. With upwards of 60 % of Electricity generated in Thailand being generated using Natural Gas, the Minister really needs to urgently address the issues that are in House first. Its OK to throw a few Baht at the problem in the form of subsidies Etc, but the real issue is how to get the cost of Electricity generation down by using alternative fuels, and reduce the reliance on Gas as a fuel. What about massive investment in Solar Energy ? The mountains of trash that are poorly disposed of now could be burnt to generate Electricity. There are other options also, such as River Barrages, and Tidal Flow Generators that could be invested in. All of these things would benefit the Nation more than the endless Kilometers of Concrete Roads being either built or widened. -

And most of those Meds are never taken, and just wasted I know of so many who have Prescription Drugs for all kinds of ailments, and they just ignore the Doctors advice and refuse to take the Meds prescribed. Strange ! -
If they are using pirated Windows XP and 7, the chances are that much of the Installed Software on those machines is also Pirated. Combine this with a passion to use Baidu and not google and there is a recipe for disaster.

The sharp downturn in the Chinese Property Market, and a slowing of its Industrial Output beggars the question. Just how much exposure to the Chinese Market do the Thai Banks, Financial Institutions, and very wealthy individuals have? I know that the Authorities here have come out previously and stated that Thailand has very little exposure to these risks, but TIT, and the greed factor is enormous, and the very rich seem to be of Chinese decent, so there will be exposure, but how much exactly. Money will have been seeded in China for sure, especially through the Covid and Tourist Downturn, but just how much has been able to be brought back Home ?, and how much is still locked into what were seen to be very lucrative property Markets. IMO, the exposure could be quite significant, as it would have been an opportunity to make Money that would have been irresistible, and now maybe there will be some serious ramifications in the Thai Market Place.

How low will the £ go?
Cake Monster replied to brewsterbudgen's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Transfer just the amount you really need when the rate is poor, as it is now. Good advice, and something that I have been doing for a while now due to poor rates. I can feel the Pound sliding to about 41 within the next 4 weeks or so -
I dont think there is a regular Bus Service from Pattaya to Bowin, a surprise, as Bowin has so many Industrial Estates and factories . A Songtaew ( baht Bus) runs regularly from Naklua to Siracha, and then again from Sriracha to Bowin. A Songtaew from Cental Pattaya to Khao Mai Kaeo would be cost prohibitive for sure, and then KMK onwards. Try getting a ride share, and offer to pay some Money for Petrol. There are Hundreds of Vehicles on the main Pattaya to Bowin route every day.

Thai Headline Inflation Meets August Forecast
Cake Monster replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
With a CPI Inflation rate of just 7.86 %, and running at 7 % for the last 3 Months, I think maybe they have avoided the Tsunami you mention. However, this is Thailand, famed for smoke and mirrors.
