The tax is small if you own a condo in foreign quota, but still have to pay yearly. If it is in a company name condo or house they will charge you 12.5% tax on their appraised value. Been going through this for months now and they sent me a bill for the past 7 years. I guess they can’t go back further. I believe there are 2 types of taxes. The other one was very cheap. This was for a house in Company name and didn’t matter if we are living there or not. As a foreign director you must pay the 12.5% tax. If it’s in a Thai name I believe it’s only like 1%.

Try looking at older condominiums like Executive Residence on Pratumnak hill. In those days building they used double brick walls throughout which makes them much more quiet than the new buildings with the single light weight super blocks. You’ll never find total silence but the older buildings are usually much better.

What is the app to download and register. I followed the link above and hit sign up for account and it didn’t go anywhere. Is there an app or should I just try again from my computer with the link above? Thanks ???? -
Pattaya City sets up hotline for garbage collection
jcmj replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
This garbage company has been the best one we’ve had throughout the years. So much better and cleaner job done than the old green garbage company. -
This is not a funny matter at all. These young boys were probably groomed or just naïve and didn’t know that anything they did would be put out there for dirty bastards to look at. It can have horrible mental consequences and lead to even worse abuse. Any perpetrators of young boys or girls should be punished hard. There should also be more open discussions with children about all forms of child sex abuse and the ways these pedophiles work. Too many kids fall for this and will be scared for life.

Pattaya announces current regulations for pet owners
jcmj replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
This needs to apply to all of Pattaya and Jomtien. I live on Pratumnak hill and the stray street dogs are a nightmare. Killing friends cats, barking and fighting with each other and chasing motorcycles and cars. The city needs to get this controlled. I can’t even take my dog out for a walk without a big stick to keep those dogs away. And thank you kind people who do not live here but feel the need to feed and water them so they stay. ???? -
Chiang Mai residents jump to it! Frogs on the menu at noodle stall

I love frog soup. I’m sure I’d enjoy this as well. I guess some people or countries are just not used to eating frogs. Tasty little critters. -
Cabinet set to decide on 300 baht fee for foreign tourists
jcmj replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I thought the dual pricing into all of the parks and attractions would be enough to support the tourism fund. Silly me. -

Dentists don’t want to pull out good teeth. The other option is to have a root canal done and a ceramic crown. That’s what I’m doing in Pattaya now. Good luck. I dread the dentist but found a good one. Hopefully you’ll do the same.

I am due to do mine by October 5th. They said I can come in up to a month early. I figured it was stamped from my Original Retirement visa date. I’m not so sure about that now. Also I see conflicting info on What I need to bring for my 12 month extension. can anyone give me an update for Jomtien immigration? Thanks ????

Pattaya mayor backs selling alcohol from 2 pm to 5 pm in hotels
jcmj replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
I have never been denied an alcoholic beverage served between 2-5pm anywhere. The only thing I can’t do is buy from the stores during these times. That being changed would be news worthy. Their reasoning behind this is ridiculous. Maybe if they start teaching how to id people to figure out their age, they will be able to move into the 21st century.- 38 replies

Well for me it’s pretty straight forward. Most health policies do not cover outpatient treatment or clinics. So it’s cheaper and better to see your doctor late in the day have them run tests and stay the night and run more tests in the morning. If everything is clear get discharged and your insurance will pick up the bill. If not you’re in good hands(hopefully) I’d do the same thing. No reason to be paying for insurance if you’re not going to get the benefits. Obviously everyone has their own opinions as to why and when to go, but it’s not really any of your concern. So let them be.
