UPDATE: Tunisian Ex-boyfriend Questioned After Chinese Woman Falls to Death in Karon
Yeah, not really believing that one. When they tell you that the deceased ex wanted to die, and it just so happened while you were there, and you just tried to save her by grabbing her leg just makes me suspicious. But we just have to wait and see what the fine men and women in brown find out. You never know. It could all just be very bad luck.

Targeted Emergency Alert System to Be Put in Place
They always try to come up with something after any bad event or disaster just to look like they are doing something, but we all know it’s mostly just talk and will come after spending millions on a committee to find someone to fleece them out and line their pockets with a sub par system that will not be effective or will not be used properly or maintained.

Thailand’s firearm frenzy: Tops ASEAN in guns, 13th in global tragedy
Well if they try to get rid of the guns, which won’t happen, then they will be back to using axes, swords and fruit knives. Actually it seems you hear more about people being stabbed or chopped up than shot. If there’s a will there is a way.

Crown Prince of Johor recounts Siam Paragon shooting
Apparently he’s not too sure of his own security team. Poor guy. It seems like he was a lot better off than the rest of the people who had to run and get away or unfortunately died. I’m sure it was scary but I just don’t feel any sympathy towards him. At least he got himself in the spotlight again and made sure his fellow citizens know how safe Thailand is. Honestly it happens all over the world these days. People are just losing it these days.

Lisa from BLACKPINK wows Paris with a ‘crazy’ cabaret act, controversy and sizzling moves
She’s just doing all she can to make her presence known and when her contract ends she can start her own management company and then really reap the benefits. She’s passed up some very lucrative opportunities but knows she can do have more freedom and make more money for herself.

Colonoscopy: St. Louis, MedPark or Bangkok Hospital?
Like Sheryl said, it depends on if you’re going for a suspected issue or general chech up. Mi insurance covers it so I can’t really remember the costs, however Bumrungrad was much more thorough in making sure I was cleaned out before the procedure after finding some issues with the one I had done at Bangkok Pattaya. I know they may be a bit pricey but, if it’s for something that is concerning your doctor then I would go to the best place, pay a bit more and get the proper treatment and care needed. Your health is your wealth. Good luck.

Why do people on here call Thailand the land of smiles?
It used to be the land of smiles Logan and culture many moons ago. You can still find some smiles, but not anything like it used to be when they really wanted us there. Now there are just too many bitter people and taxi fights, bar bouncer battles and it just doesn’t feel as freeing as it used to. Pretty sad. Now many are just screwing you over to make an extra baht and service has gone way down hill. Like I said there are exceptions and that is mostly for people who have lived here a long time and developed a respect and given respect and gratitude with the people they hang around with.

YouTube likes me..and I don't know why!
You can always pay 150 baht a month to stop all ads on your account. It’s worth it to me. Can’t stand all of those commercials popping up.

Young Thai Woman Killed, Foreign Man Missing, After Apparently Being Struck by Speedboat While Swimming at Koh Larn
1000 baht fine and a wai seems like what we should be expecting next from the captain. Along with some good excuses why it happened and wasn’t his fault. Karma my friend is a bitch.

Teenage boy abandoned on roadside after he faints on Bangkok public bus
They have such light penalties for this kind of behavior, it’s no wonder they are not afraid to do it. Sad

Chinese tourists shy away from Thailand amid scams and safety concerns
Their economy sucks and the majority don’t have the money to travel anymore. That’s the truth. Not a scary movie scaring them away. Although, if that helps, I don’t mind it. They should start showing it in more theaters there.

Thai health minister backs cannabis ban, citing surge in teen usage
I’m not against it, but I do question why they can sell it close to schools while they ban alcohol sales near schools. Doesn’t make much sense. I agree that all they need to do is card people, but that would take work and math so doubt that will happen. Plus little mom and pop shops will sell anything to anyone. My son got busted at school when he was 11 for having a cigarette he bought from a local shop next to his school.

Thai Legal Experts Assert Revealing Thaksin’s Health Status Violates Privacy Laws
I believe HIPPA laws are enforced worldwide, although I have been able to get info from some doctors about my friends in the hospital.

Medical insurance for American Expat
Where did you find insurance for around 3,000 dollars after 70 years old? Mine went up to 550,000 baht, so I’m now self insured. Also they don’t cover pre existing conditions on any policy I’ve seen, or they will just pay a small portion for that.

Phumtham welcomes convicted former PM Thaksin as PM’s chief advisor
I think he’d be a good advisor. He had some great ideas and was pro foreigners. Sure a bit corrupt, but aren’t they all? As long as they just listen to his advice on what worked and don’t take it as gospel.

Dense Plankton Bloom Threatens Fisheries in Chonburi
Sure. Just what I wanted to do when I go to the beach. Swim with the dead fish floating around me. Sure it’s safe. Maybe they can just scoop up the dead fish and offer nightly fish fry’s. ????

Cannabis Network Gives Health Minister A Warning
Hell, my doctor suggested that I try marijuana for my chronic pain, but I still haven’t found one that helps and doesn’t make me feel loopy. I don’t like the high feeling I just want the pain to go away.

It’s time for US to do more business in Thailand : Thai PM
Why would anyone want to invest in a country that hates foreigners and treats them like 3rd class citizens. If the US treated the Thais like they treat us here, they would be up in arms. Same, same, but different.

Former Thai PM Thaksin’s parole could be as early as February
Well, I guess I’m in the minority, but I like him and what he achieved for the foreigners while he was in office. He at least wanted us here and made it pretty easy to get a long term visa. Sure he screwed a few things up, but tell me one pm that hasn’t.

Is continuing Injury and Sickness benefits of the Social Security Fund (Volunrary Insurance) available only to foreigners with Permanent Residence?
I am wondering what happens to my ss that I paid into for over 15 years and unfortunately left after my last job right as the pandemic started so I couldn’t come back and even get my monthly payments or set up continuing payments online because that’s only for Thais. Can I still go to the ss office when I’m 55 and claim the ss I paid? I’m sure someone else has been through this.

Storm Hits Sriracha, Large Gas Station Sign Crushes Customer's Car, kills 1 person
They make these signs Way to big and without the proper structure to support it when a big storm hits. This is just the latest example of it happening. We’ve seen it happen many times before.

Proposed foreign income tax could harm small retail investors, warns Jitta CEO
They just can’t help shooting themselves in the foot. The once Land of Smiles has become a country that only wants your money and doesn’t really care about the expat community anymore, only the “rich” Chinese and Indians.

Visa-free Chinese tourism raises concerns over illegal Thailand tour operations
As if we all didn’t expect this to happen. Well I guess the powers to be have their heads up their asses if they didn’t think this was coming.
