Years ago. Showing off my Thai language skills to my visiting family in the airport restaurant I asked the waiter for the bill. He stood there looking puzzled. I asked him again. No reaction. My wife said, "What did you ask him?" When I told her, she said, "You asked him to fill your tank up." An old expat told me, "It's easy to speak enough Thai to get yourself into trouble. But can you speak enough to get you out of it?" That has been my poor excuse for not speaking it.😉

Reading all the negativity.
How sad it must be for some of you guys living your miserable life here in Thailand.
I'm the happiest guy on the planet, would not have chosen to live anywhere else.
I did like Vung Tau when I was working there, would have been my next choice.
I've been married to my Thai wife and lived here for 37 years. At 90 I don't regret any of it.

Really? How many of those do you meet out in the sticks?

In my opinion, better to have a good relationship with a partner who have good language skills, and one you can comunicate with on daily basis, instead of half learning a language. But creds to those who manage and do the efforth to learn. For me it was ok without
But the time may come when that partner is not there.

Make a serious effort to learn the language. Unless you live in the cities you will wallow without it.

And me. And I'm 90. But don't knock him. But time to be put out to graze. But he still speaks more sense than his opponent, who embarrasses me more. Come on Joe. It's time to go, with dignity.

Does this not sum up Joe Biden's recent press conference? As the old song goes. ; He's dead but he won't lie down.' Come on Joe. You've done a good job. It's time to go out to graze.

One of the best things I did when my old mum came to live with us here was to put handrails and nonslip mats in the shower rooms and at strategic points around the house. Now at ninety, I'm glad I did. The balance can be a bit dodgy as you get older.

This man would be no loss to Thai politics. He supported the exile of his son to avoid justice when he was accused of shooting a policeman.
And still they come out of the woodwork.

In all my ninety years I have never heard of a whore described as a hoe, an agricultural implement.? Or is that the way some countries say it? 😉

All very sad. Here is man who has done so much for his country, refusing to admit it is time for him to relinquish his position and retire gracefully. Or will he continue to ignore the obvious and suffer the ignominy of being remembered as the President who lost his Party the election due to his stubbornness? I'm not an American, but the USA vote affects the world, unfortunately.

Meanwhile. Because of public outcry. The navy has canceled its submarine order with China and is investing in Sea Walking Helmets. They are getting advice on their use from operators on Koh Larn.😉

Congratulations on your cleaning the house of those vermin but you must have stirred up some comments again because oh,oh, how pathetic that is, and how mean you were to have unceremoniously unleashed the murder weapon on it.
But I'm cut from the same cloth, I don't want them in the house either and if I see them they're going to die, you're talking about your washing machine but they can also get into an electrical socket with all its consequences.Or, which is also possible, in your computer, in the CD drive, and so on.
So, now come on with your comments, and I don't care, it is an item that comes back regularly.
P.S. What I did notice, if you live high up in a condominium, you are considerably less bothered by them, apparently they are afraid of heights.
The higher you go the fewer mosquitos there are. They sussed that out, the little rascals.😉

76 years old, early hours of the morning, crossing the road after leaving a bar, experience tells me he wasn't out trying to watch the sunrise. The older you are the easier it is to get drunk on just a few beers, only 2 days in Thailand, so jet lag and the unaccustomed humidity and temperature plus alcohol tells me he probably wasn't sober.
Perhaps he was sober and just wanted to commit suicide and threw himself in front of the motorbike. Well. All the other causes have been covered by the TV sleuths.😉 Get well soon my old China.👍

killing off an occasional mosquito could never be described as a "good job" they would have to have a much better kill rate before they were welcome in our house, My cat is generally uninterested in them until the numbers increase but once he gets to work he can decimate their numbers in a couple of days
How exactly have you informed the tookays that they are not allowed in the house, I doubt they respect your wishes
Good fitting mosquito nets and mosquito door closers. And give them a good talking to.😉
