PM Eyeing A-List Performers Amid Taylor Swift’s Singapore Shows
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I do believe they said big names. Names that would fill a stadium and net them millions. These singers you talk about coming. Have not arrived yet. But also they are very old and not as popular with the younger generation. On another note. Most of the singers you listed play more music than singing and when singing they usually have sing them slowly and with limited vocabulary. Not an upbeat pop star band. -
2 in my family already got dengue in the past couple of months.. It is really not as bad as they say for children. But old people need to be careful. hospitalization and death is probable.

PM Eyeing A-List Performers Amid Taylor Swift’s Singapore Shows
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Given Thailands English abilities, it is understandable why they would never get such a large audience. Most Thais would not listen to nor understand the foreigner music. Those that do go to these types of shows. Those that do not make comments blaming others for this country offering less money to pay the artists to come. -
They can not even control emissions from vehicles in Bangkok that are contributing greatly to the pollution levels. Black smoke pouring from vehicles are seen daily throughout Thailand especially by trucks on the highway. They need to make their rules and actually enforce them. But this is Thailand and as seen all too often here where the rich can escape actual prison time just as companies can pay off police for little stickers on their trucks to bypass vehicle inspections. When they fix the problem at local levels and actually begin real enforcement, only then will something happen to the pollution levels and air quality in Thailand.

Family feud over billion-baht legacy rocks northern Thailand
thesetat replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
Wow.. Are you really so racist against foreigners to make such a comment? Phil1964 comment was being sarcastic but justified. So why tell him to leave simply because his comment reflects what you did not like? I also do not see anything in his comment stating his hate for Thais. -

PM Srettha wakes up to threat of cheap Chinese goods dumped on Thailand
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This happens all too often with countries doing business with China. -
Does it really matter? We all know who won the last election yet look at who is the sitting PM. Of course he would dissolve the house and have another election.. The real question is will he step down as PM. This has been a problem in the past with others. Then there is the real possibility that they hold a new election and Pita is not permitted to run for office for some scandal or another as a ruse like the last time. Then of course. Everyone knows that even with another election and the PM stepping down.. The peoples vote means nothing as proven in the past election as well. This PM would remain or another Thaksin lackey would be voted in the end.

I must say, if the photo is him leaving the hospital, he looks really healthy and not the sickly 70 year old the police and prison system claims. I guess I would be all smiles if I was sentenced to many years and only had to do 1 hour in a prison and a few months in the hospital and now free to do as he wants without anyone keeping track of his activities.

Thai teacher accused of ignoring sick student, leading to his death
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Someone once told me that in Thailand, it is better to take the life rather than allow someone to have a debilitating injury or illness. This was said to me because when a Thai dies, the compensation is minimal. I was even told if you hit someone to make sure they are dead haha... The cost to compensate for someone left alive is a lot more. That being said, the 5000 baht offered as compensation is probably the least amount the school could have offered. I am curious though. By the articles description of events, perhaps the child had an allergy unknown to the Thai teacher and her giving the kid paracetamol was the reason for death. only an autopsy will confirm the reason he died. The 5000 would not be enough to pay for this to happen. So sad for this to happen in a school. The school or teacher should have called an ambulance immediately when seeing the boys skin changing color. Perhaps the child would still be alive. -
Buriram yoga teacher exposes photographer’s sexual harassment
thesetat replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
probably because there is more to the story than she is saying and by posting it in social media she can make more than 30,000 baht if she has enough views. haha.... Also this spotlights her home based yoga business and could possibly attract more customers. -
With Thaksin On Parole, Thailand Might Be Run By Two Prime Ministers
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Not the hospital.. the idea of spending more than an hour in a Thai prison would make anyone so sick. -
Why release of Thaksin could be a tipping point for Thai politics
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Im confused how his age would have an impact on his being made to wear electronic monitoring? This man fled the country for many years. In any other country he would be considered a flight risk and be monitored daily. Seems another deal to discredit the justice system has been made for the T-man. Most Thai i know have already given up on seeing this man get some real jail time. -

Thai woman’s deathly Bangkok rental quest raises eyebrow
thesetat replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Smart lady. No Thai wants to buy a home or condo where someone has died in it. Prices get reduced to find a buyer for it. So she gets to buy them at a cheap price. Then she can call in the monk squad to perform rituals to make sure no apparitions appear and use that also to increase the price to sell it again. Superstition is really too dominate in this country.- 18 replies

Tragic scooter crash in Thailand leaves Queensland dad in coma
thesetat replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
It won't matter. So many will find his GOFUNDME page and send money simply because they will not have said the real reasons why his insurance failed and of course why he chose to drive recklessly without a helmet risking his wife as well. -

You meant..... Oh I do know theres no solid positive results to this administration. Because in his tenure there has not been anything making America better. Unless you want to twist that and say it is better (for the illegal border jumpers) -
Thai soldier rapes his stepdaughter, mother forgives rapist
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
I do not understand how the police can let these criminals who confessed out of their custody. In the article it says he confessed and 2 hours later left the police station. Ridiculous. Officers told ThaiRath that the soldier confessed to raping his stepdaughter but insisted he did not mean to. He claimed that the rape happened when he was wiping her body to lower the temperature. He insisted that the sexual assault only happened once. The rapist turned himself in yesterday, February 8, and admitted to his crime. The man refused to give an interview to the media and quickly left the police station after two hours of questioning. -
Pattaya Beach Umbrella Operator Arrested for Alleged Child Sexual Abuse
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
I would guess you do not have kids. Let's put it this way. Meet me with your wife and I will take her off alone so she can play with my phone ok. What man would say and do that to a little kid that is not his? Clearly something happened other than the child playing with his phone. If they arrested him then also clearly they have enough evidence to charge him as well. 7 year olds are not prone to making up stories like this and parents are not so quick to believe it also without some supporting evidence. -
What a crock. you fail to mention that that one or 2 hours of prep will have you ready for many classes. Your spin on this making people think it is one or 2 hours per hour of class is total B>S. Also a crock you spin is that most of their other duties are done in the classroom. Checking work and homework could be done during their classes as they walk around however, most Thai do their work inefficiently and waste a lot of time. The type of books they use may cause them a little extra time if they are a new teacher and know nothing about what is being taught. Foreigners working 20 hours... consider yourself lucky. Most Thai teaching jobs for foreigners demand 24 to 28 hours of class time. Plus extra activities. This article tries to make like Thai teachers do so much yet are required to do extra work outside of the class and school. In reality most of the extra work done is about school. Part of their teaching experience. All of which they accepted when accepting the position to work in that particular school. Why is it the foreigner can do more classes and work along with the paperwork and crap the school throws at them with admin issues. Then have to do the extra curricular activities so the parents paying can see they really have foreigners working there. I seriously doubt you have ever seen a Thai teacher running from one class to the next. But foreigners do it often.

The netizens never have good sex this way.. So of course they get enraged when seeing it happen. Haha i am still trying to figure out exactly who they say are netizens. i am most certain 99% of the Thai in the area who saw it did not care or look twice at them. Thailand news likes to use the word netizens a lot.

Thai emission laws transform: What drivers need to know
thesetat replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
what good is making these laws when they are not enforced or can pay bribes to get out of the enforcement? -
I might tend to agree with your hypothesis.. Being that the video made was posted by a traffic cop then removed from social media only to be picked up again by the news services. It also begs me to ask the question about where the news services got the idea that other Thais were complaining this man and asking what other charges he will have for doing it. Especially since most Thais would have done the same with more success and I have yet to see a Thai driver actually follow every traffic law.

congrats!! Perhaps you can use some of the winnings to convince more Chinese to come to Thailand. Since the previous TAT Scheme to get more Chinese tourists failed miserably. Why TAT thinks extending free visas will improve their odds to get more travelers when it did not work the last time a couple months ago?
