When Covid was at its worst. Not all Thais were tested regularly to know if they had gotten Covid. Not all Thais went to be checked at hospitals to know if they got Covid. Many hid at home for fear of knowing for sure they were infected or for fear they would be infected. I know so many who were sick with Covid and never reported to the governing agencies or to any hospitals or clinics that they got infected. My ex GF worked at a factory where Covid spread rampantly. Yet all they did was close for a week to spray. Not a single worker there was tested or reported to any hospital or clinic. This was only in a small area in Bangkok so one can assume it happened throughout the country this way as well. Numbers of infected must be known the same way TAT gets their figures.

Anywhere else in the world, if a young girl is claiming rape by anyone. If she has an agent with her from some group like the one who accompanied her, and if there is video of the policeman in the hotel with the young girl, the police would arrest the dirty old man regardless of whether he was a policeman or not. The man would have his chance to explain why he was in a hotel room alone with a young student and why she is making these claims in a courtroom. Here in Thailand, seems a cop can do what he wants, without fear of apprehension by peers unless it has already hit the news and they have set up panels to investigate or make it disappear. This story will be forgotten in a week most likely. The panel will be well paid and find nothing happened. But one has to ask themself. Why a young student, would go to a strange police station. finger a man she has never seen before with a rape accusation. Claim he videotaped it to extort her for more sex. Know the cops name. Have video with them both together at hotel. What possibly could this students purpose be for making these accusations? I do not know about the many of you reading, but i have yet to read about any Thai that is this intelligent and can plan things with so many details for a lie. They simply do not foresee their planning when doing things. So I will have to take this into account when thinking whether or not the accusation is real or fake.

Everyone in Pattaya can thank TAT and the Chinese leader for opening up China to travel at precisely the time when their Covid outbreak was at its peak there. Then Tat and the Thai governments approval to allow anyone back into this country. I foresee some terrible Covid situation arising again in Pattaya soon. Let's hope I am wrong.

How to know who is a sexpat and who is not just by looking at them entering the country? I think most single men entering the country are sexpats first and then grow out of it. I am most certain you have had your share of women in Thailand and perhaps now have settled down to only one. So you should not be instigating nor complaining about this in the forum. The plethora of women offering themselves to men can be inviting to any man who is here for the first time. Why label them?

Hit and run with injuries. This foreigner and his wife, if they have any brains at all. Will threaten police action like criminal charges and court action against the Thai man. As my understanding is if have this kind of accident, then can get several hundred thousand baht in claim against the driver. If they can not settle a monetary amount then the Thai man can be charge criminally and a case for damages and hospital fees can be sued for. The same as a a Thai does to a foreigner that hits them.

i am told by the social security that the cost of living index for retirees will get a boost in their income from the USA for a whopping 8.9% in January. The most increase ever. I do not believe that Thailands baht value can increase so much so rapidly without some sort of manipulation.. It is not normal for sure to have such a large change so quickly and it was ordered by the PM to do something to increase the value of the baht last month. My friend there has been in lockdown for a couple weeks already just because someone in their neighborhood was tested positive for covid. Also, anyone who travels into China is faced with 5 days quarantine at their government centers and then home self isolation. This was in the news last week. Who would take a week holiday only to be quarantined for another week or 2 returning home?

i would tend to agree. It is safer to drive without a plate or with a faded plate. Noone seems to care about those. Hmm...
