I believe Donald Trump is playing "I dare you to Iran". 1. Increase US Military personnel in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Coouncil) countries. Currently the US military has growing number of personnel in Kuwati, Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. i don't think Iranian leaders would attack US bases in these countries because attacking them would be attacking the host nation as well. I don't think Iran wants conflict with any of these countries. I have been to US bases in Kuwait (Camp Arifijian which located next to the largest oil refinery I have ever seen and Camp Buehring which is located in the Udari desert and near the Iraqi border. There were and now probably more soldiers, Marines, sailors and airmen there now. 2. Dare Iran to attack any of the growing number of US Naval vessels in the Arabian peninsula. But then Iran would get a barrage F-18 and F-35 sorties day and night. When an AO gets this crowded something is bound to happen eventually. I hope not because this is Israel's war just like the way Donald Trump keeps saying Ukraine and Russia is not our battle.

No. DHS-Department of Homeland Security Agents are not DEA, ATF, FBI, Secret Service, US Marshall service and they are not even US Park Police. Federal Park Rangers are more police than DHS agents. DHS does have a division called HSI (Homeland Security Investigations) and they are the closest thing to an actual Law Enforcement Agency under the DHS structure. This is why for those who argue that ICE is not the police are in some ways correct. ICE-Immigration and Customs Enforcement is exactly what they are. The same could be said of CBP-Customs and Border Protection, you know the men and women who scan your passports when you arrive from international flights at US airports. They are not police either. Some in CBP may think so but they are not. DHS also has the Coast Guard now under their structure and they not police either. Of course you knew all that so I am just stating things you already knew.

When you work as security for a principal (public or private) you take it seriously. You see nothing but threats everywhere. I do not know what the DHS security detail was briefed before the news conference but they have the duty to deal with any perceived threats to the DHS secretary. Could they have responded differently Yes things can always be done differently.

So he was publicly announced as "US Senator has now entered the room?". I did not see that part. Just because someone is escorted into a room does that make the person important or a Senator. If he was escoted in then was DHS informed that a US Senator had entered the room or not? Then where was the FBI agent when DHS agents approache Senator Padilla? Everyone knew he was in the room? Cover up? It was recorded. He is a Senator and he was forcibly removed from a DHS news conference. What next? Impeachment against Noem? Have the DHS agents investigated for civil rights violation? Any thoughts as to what should happen next?

Does Alex Padilla think everyone in CA and LA knows who he is? I doubt it I wonder if he had walked with the protestors in downtown how many would know that he was a Senator unless he was introduced as such. Most of the people I know in CA and LA do not know who there elected represntatives are. Many do not seem to care. Possibly a better approach for Senator Padilla would have been to stand next to one of the reporters and ask Noem a question or even better contact her office and request a face to face meeting? Of course a closed door meeting with Noem would not have a dramatic impact for the world to see. This episode is over and there willl be more to come.

"One of the problems here is that Noem picked on the wrong guy. This guy is not your average working class Latino. Padilla is an MIT graduate in mechanical engineering, the youngest LA city council president in its history, a former California state senator who passed over 70 bills, a former California secretary of state, who was re-elected receiving the most votes of any Latino elected official in the US. This is a man who has accomplished a tremendous amount during his career. He is the leading lawmaker from California and he's a very distinguished, very smart, and very articulate gentleman" I lived in LA County for over 50 years and I know who Alex Padiilla is. But about someone from elsewhere? I do not disagree as to what he accomplished for LA or CA but if I am from South Dakota or Norht Dakota I could care less who he is or what he did on a city or state level. Would you know a Senator from the Dakotas on site without checking your phone? I have no idea who most US Senators are except for the well known ones like Schumer, McConnell, Tim Kaine (mostly because he was Hilary's running mate) . The rest I probably would not recogzine if I were to see them on the street.

It did not look like the DHS agents knew Padilla was a Senator. He looked angry and was walking towards Noem and the agents did their job. I only know of Padilla because I lived in CA for many years. Maybe the DHS agents were not from CA? Many people know who the other CA Senator is. Yes the famous Adam Schiff and if he was there most would have known he was a senator. Padiila is less know nationally. Could Padilla have done things differently? Don't know because he said after that he was "peaceful".

I have been drinking this type of milk for years in LOS. It costs more than regular cows milk but cheaper then almond, soy or oat milk. Soy milk is really cheap but I get tired of it. -

Ok. From a former "pig" who has never falsified evidence, never been sued, never been the focus of a criminal investigation so i am a common "pig". Do you really think that eliminating QI would solve the problems of "pigs"? Maybe or maybe not. So let me take your position for a minute and say any police officer could be sued for anything. What do you think would be the end result? The purpose of civil litigation is to be awarded a financial judgement? It is not about Justice. How much money did the George Floyd get from Derek Chanvin? Not much because Chanvin was not worth much. He is even worth less now that he is rottiing in federal prison. But the city of Minneapolis paid out over $20 Million. How much money did Rodney King get from Stacey Koon, Ted Briseno, Tim Wind or Laurence Powell? How much money did Rodney King get from the city of Los Angeles? Millions. Lawyers do not sue people or entities that have littlle. Instead they sue cities and states because they have big pockets. Elimination of QI would havea definite result: Fewer Police on the streets. Maybe this is the end goal? If that is then maybe America will be better and safer place? Also, what is "slightly" breaking the law? Either you are or not. But that is not relevant to this. From a former "pig".
