    a NIC class 3 stamp is £17.45 weekly, paying for 1 year, would add £ 6.88 weekly to your pension, so 2.5 years to draw even, live to be older than 70 to gain. a class 2 stamp of £3.45 weekly (£180 per year ) would take receiving the increased amount for 6 months to draw even.

    the only things i can think are, something needs further clarification on your passport, the person dealing with the application has made a mistake, or something not clear on the copies submitted,

    class 3 ( voluntary) contributions are about £17 per week, class 2 (self employed ) are about £3.50 per week. you only have until 5th April to pay for any gaps older than 6 years, there are rules that govern paying class 2 when working overseas. see here - https://www.gov.uk/pay-class-2-national-insurance/if-you-work-or-live-abroad

    for a new passport they used to give 6 months or so extra to the 10 years, but now 10 years from date of issue extensions Thailand are issued for 1 year or until the expiry of passport it that is sooner

    what about the Thai allowances. 60k that eveyone gets, 100k if money is a pension, 195k if over 65, 1st 150k is 0 tax rate, and other allowances for for family etc

    op you should be able to get a 30day and a 60 day ( visit wife extension) each one would be 1,900thb. every entry made into Thailand allows for a 60 day wife extn, as long as the Wife is Thai,

    is it that demanding to do the report every 83 days or for that matter 75 days, look at the time you save by not travelling to IO. if you travel to IO you have 7 days after the report date to do the report
