Pattaya is a total dump, Indians, Chinese , sex tourists. Dirty,
low life's staring into the sky 24/7, if you're ever feeling down in the dumps, go to pattaya, walk around, you'll feel like a million bucks in no time. Simply a hell hole.
Sounds like you're missing the place.
Cheer up grumpy

PEA have recently installed my new meters to all the houses in my soi.
These meters have lots of information displayed, 1 is voltage.

What thermal properties does your house have?
It must be unbearable in the hot season

Even when the pickup was in clear view of the bike, the bike didn't seem to make any attempt to slow down or avoid the collision. Probably doing a bit of texting.
Incompetence.
The guy froze, best he retires the bike and buys a car.

I assume that is fibre to the node.
So you would have copper to your Condo.

Life in jail would be a better punishment.
Yeah, let's feed and clothe him, give him a roof over his head and allow him visitors for the rest of his life.
Maybe those of you that have been jail could add.
What other lerks and perks could we offer this animal?

I have to agree with your comment, sadly though, because I cringe at the number of farangs, and many of them old enough to know much better, who ride around here (I'm not in Pattaya, but in Patong) just as you describe.
I would say that the number of farangs like this, especially wearing no helmet, would easily eclipse the number of Thais who don't wear a helmet.
And as regards another comment about age, well I'm 72 now and consider my driving skills to be good, having driven for 55 years without any accidents caused by me, so although age can be a factor, there are just as many younger people driving much more dangerously/recklessly, and some who look as if they have a death wish.
Ride on dude, it's all about management. I do see reckless youth and as I said previously, incompetence causes most accidents.
Hope I can do the same at that age.

What is with people coming to Thailand and wearing a Outlaw patch......
Do these people never grow up?

Seems to be a lot of elderly guys here riding on these roads.
I've been riding motorbikes since the age of 10 years old. I joined a motorbike club at 12 years, I spent most weekends for several years learning riding skills.
These Thai roads are not a place for the elderly to learn how to ride. I'm sure there are many of you elderly guys that have the ability to ride and I say to you ride on and stay safe. The point I'm making is for those who do not have the ability and those who are so stubborn and childish to think they do.
It's not just riding, I see all sorts of childish behaviour from mature aged guys here, so it doesn't surprise me to see the incompetent aged riding scooters here.
I see often and make comment to ride safely to those I see that are struggling with the scooter they are riding. At the end of the day, Rossi, Stoner MotoGP riders in their 70's would hesitate to ride these dangerous roads.

There are many worse ways to die. And one of them is wasting ones life in an arm chair in front a TV thinking 'I'm too old to do that'. Sorry pal, you're trying to lecture the wrong person.
I'm hearing you mate, but fair play. Incompetent riders cause most accidents.
It's BLACK AND WHITE, if you're not experienced and elderly stay off Thai roads.
A younger person can get away with not having the skills, but as you age your judgement weakens. If you're in an accident your chances of serious injury increases.
I know I've touched a nerve, but you elderly guys do your family and the community a favour, get a car

I've always avoided motorbikes/taxis when possible in Thailand, regardless of costs.
The roads/drivers are just too dangerous.
74 yo. I see a lot of these elderly guys riding scooters, most of the time I see they just don't belong on the road. Too old to be riding here in Thailand, too many things to watch out for, it's very different on the roads here, your reflexes and decision making need to be spot on.
Surprisingly I see a lot of elderly guys riding like the Thai guys, in and out of traffic, changing lanes erratically, very dangerous behaviour.

I'm surprised there hasn't been more accidents at that Makro U-turn which encourages cutting across 4 lanes of fast traffic to get into the Makro entrance.
The sensible thing to do would to travel another couple of hundred metres and U turn at the traffic lights.

If the books whereabouts is unknown you cannot Tax or Register the vehicle.
You cannot drive it on public roads.
The vehicle is useless for anyone that's going to drive it on our roads, it worthless unless you want to enter it in a smash up derby or rally/race it on the track.
