I think the limit of exemption visas per 180 days is 3. After 3 the entry is refused.
Personally I have the elite visa and I don't feel safe neither, I also live in constant fear of visa problems.

Reporting at Phayao I/O as normal, I had to show proof of my stay in BKK or pay fine for not reporting within 24hrs of arrival in Thailand. Luckily I had a receipt from the hotel in BKK with me. Previously on return to Thailand, I had made a report to Phayao when I arrived home and never any questions about time between arrival in BKK and arrival in Phayao.
Just another scam by I/O to get money from Farang and le us know we are no longer welcome here.
It's completely stupid because it has to be done in person, it's easier to move to another country I think. Personally I'm moving out, I just have to come back to sell the car and I'm done.

Well, if checked by an officer you will be arrested and if you don't pay the fine you will be taken.

He got a receipt he told me. He stayed in Krabi for 1 night and came back to Bangkok, so in the system he changed his address without reporting.

Hello,
My friend who is staying in Asoke got arrested yesterday because he didn't report his address.
Full story :
When he wanted to go out of his condo he found many immigration officers in his condominium checking everyone, when he tried to leave they stopped him and asked for his passport that he didn't have on him, so they went with him to his apartment to pick it up. When they realized he didn't have the paper of the address report they asked for 5000 THB. They even mention to him that he was reported at some hotel in Krabi (where he actually went for 1 night holiday). They said "if you don't pay we take you with us".
His visa is THAI Elite, nobody is off the hook.
The law states we have to report every time we stay at another address... is it possible to report online ? Because going to the immigration each time just for this is just not worth it.

I'm moving out of Thailand anyway, I already made arrangements. By being a foreigner I feel like a criminal on the run now... They have gone too far.

It's illegal to clean up the beach without a work permit, maybe the gov would have hired a thai to clean up, but now the beach is clean and the thai has no job. This is how they think and it wouldn't be the first time that a foreigner is arrested for volunteer work. I wouldn't risk it.

It's insane.

You guys don't care to take taxis with drivers that play candycrush while driving ? Or having drivers that are on yaba ?
A taxi company with a no phone and no drugs policy would do very well I think.

So you know of taxi companies where they are taking drugs during work hours? Please inform us.
Many many drivers are positive for drugs when tested by the police, it's quite common.
I wonder if there is a taxi company that check their employees with tests and also a no phone policy while driving.
I'm very tired of risking my life each time I take a taxi.

Hello,
I would like to know which taxi companies have drivers that don't play with their phones and take drugs during work hours.
Any recommendation ?
Thanks.

I dread to think what your pound/dollar/euro would be
worth in 10 years. If I could afford it, I'd buy a heap of gold.
Only old people still believe in gold, gold can be made in the lab now, it's worth nothing. Bitcoin is the way to go, and real estate.

In 10 years you could get something like 100% return on that money, instead of keeping it locked in a thai account.

At least with this one there is enough evidence to convict him, his attitude is not acceptable, a year in jail should calm him down.

Arriving in a foreign country with no currency or any proof of accommodation is pretty damn stupid. What did she really expect?
I got also jailed in Thailand for the same reason and deported back to my country. They didn't give a damn that I had a condo and 4 credit cards with me. They said hotel booking, 20K baht in cash and return ticket mandatory.
Seems normal to me to jail thais abroad when they do the same, now I learned my lesson and I travel with the necessary requirements.

You can do them yourself as a tenant at most offices. A tenant is defined as being a housemaster in the immigration act.
Oh really ? What documents do I need to do this ?

I will leave Thailand following this law too, my landlord is a thai lady and she is getting tired of filling the TM30 each time I go out, I understand her totally and fully. It's a ridiculous law in the sense that someone else than yourself has to be involved, the thai landlord. So this might be my last year in Thailand.

Once I went to a very expensive hospital in Bangkok, I had all the medicines I needed at home but the doctor said she couldn't let me go without selling me medicine because it was the hospital policy. I ended buying paracetamol for something like 1000 THB ! Now I go to other hospitals, bunch of scammers.

Closed our company after we did not need a farang with work permit any more. Contacted our Thai lady who files my wife's taxes, she went down to the local DBD offices, paid 30K. Baht, plus 500 Baht for her time, job done in a day. As we were paying around 20K a month in VAT and accountant charges it was a cheap option that paid for itself in two months.
She didn't close anything then, it doesn't take a day at all. Also many documents have to be signed by the director of the company. Our folder is gigantic. Did you receive the certificate of closure ?

I saw them, I was driving next to them and they did this too, it was 2 or 3 days ago, on the same road.

I closed my company, it took 1 year but actually was painless. The lawyer did it for me, we had to pay less than 4000 BAHT in "forgotten taxes" and the total cost was approx 100 000 THB. Pretty happy with the end result. As long as you have all your documents in order it's easy to close but it takes time for the revenue department to check all the documents.

The one in the back is always at fault, he should have kept the security distance between his vehicle and the other vehicle. Also, he might have been playing with his phone or looking around instead of being focused on the traffic.

I have the elite visa and it will be over in 2020, I will not renew it. I think Thailand should welcome people like me with open arms instead of making us pay for the right to be allowed to stay. That's a lot of money for a stamp on a passport that still doesn't allow you to do anything else than to be a long term tourist, you can't even get the 5 year driving license.
You still need to make sure the TM30 is correctly filled by the landlord or you could get in troubles, also you still need to do the 90 days report by yourself if you don't stay in Bangkok, the elite office is only available in Bangkok.
It's not worth the money in my opinion, also Thailand is twice as expensive as 10 years ago, now there is other better options in the world. For the same price you could live in many good countries and without paying any taxes if you travel enough.

Here, in this topic, someone said he got overstay stamp too for the same reason and immigration officer called it overstay too. My friend has a work permit and he wasn't overstaying but he forgot to do the 90 days report. I actually never had any problem myself with the 90 days report, many times I forgot about it too and never had a single problem. But now I'm doing all my reports following the situation he had.
Has anyone else been offered a "special service" (guaranteed entry) at Swampy airport? My experience flying into BKK last night

What you can do now is to give his details to the anti corruption police and see him removed from his position.
