  1. TM30 is useful in case you need to do any documents at the immigration or if your condo gets raided by the immigration. I have the elite visa and I couldn't do the TM30 yet, I have not received my password on the online portal. As long as I don't need anything from the immigration and as long as I get lucky regarding raids I'm fine.

For the 90 days report I'm unsure if I will be able to do it or not without the TM30, we will see in due time.

And by the way, the elite visa is elite just by name. You are just a normal dude with no privileges at all. Actually you even get less than non O holders, the driving license issued is just for 2 years for example. It's more difficult to open bank accounts but you still can if you visit many different branches one will open you an account. You are legally a tourist, so even after 20 years you won't be able to apply for citizenship with the elite visa. With this visa you are not able to work neither. The visa has to be cancelled to get a work permit.

Elite visa is good for digital nomads and full time tourists only, you can come and go as much as you want, no questions asked. But it's not a visa to live in Thailand full time, even if you could, it's not the primary purpose.

  2. I have an agent for the 90 days report, I just want to know if the agent can file it without TM30. That's it.

What I don't know how to do is the TM30, I registered online but never received my password, and I'm not sure at all how to do it by postal mail, I couldn't find the exact procedure online with the address and what needed to be included.

I never asked how to do a 90 days report, I asked if I could file it without TM30.

Ought to be good for tourism. Come to Thailand. Get raided. Have Immigration kick the door in and threaten arrest. "Und ver are your papeers?"

Immigration didn't kick the door, they waited in the lobby and stopped everyone there and asked to see everyone's passport. My friend had to go back to his apartment escorted by the immigration officers to get his passport, where they discovered that his last TM30 was in a hotel in Krabi. They demanded 5000 thb and told him if he didn't pay they would arrest him on the spot and take him to the police station.

He paid and was let go. It's the kind of traumatic experience that I don't want to live. But my situation is the same as his then, my TM30 is not yet filled.

Rather an over-reaction. All this "they don't want us" whining is rather pathetic. Do many countries welcome migrants, retirees or long-stay "tourists"? It's a stupid, petty requirement which has always been a law, but is only now being enforced due to pressure from above. Just suck it up or ignore it and pay the fine if you have to.

I already decided to move out of Thailand at the end of my current visa. The current climat concerning expats is not good. My friend condo got raided, he has an elite visa and was fined and almost arrested because he didn't have the TM30, he didn't even know what a TM30 was. And myself i'm trying to do my TM30 for a month already and I can't get it done, still no password to submit the documents.

  5. Thailand makes it easy to come once, then if you want to visit again they start to be really annoying, asking for many documents.

Also the constant reports are annoying only if you live at your own place, if you are a tourist the hotels will do the TM30 for you, so it's not a hassle.

What Thailand doesn't want are expats, they want tourists that stay at hotels, but they don't want people that stay at the own place.

"That's how it works, take 200 thb from everyone every month, refund those who complain..."

But they don't do that, you clicked on something!

"...they wouldn't refund if it was 100% legit".

For a customer like you, who made a mistake and clicked on something 100% legitimate, authorising a debit in error, it's very likely that they would refund you such a small amount, it would be worth it just for the PR.

You didn't say on which website you clicked, is it a secret?

I never clicked any website, I don't visit thai websites, obviously I was subscribed without knowing.

Which website did you click on or what service did you allegedly subscribe to?  That would be useful information if you're giving us a heads-up!  How did you suddenly get the service on an existing number or was it a new SIM with a payable service?

Calling something a scam when you probably agreed to it by clicking on it and considering that they have agreed to give you a full refund, and it was only a couple of hundred baht, is a bit over the top.

That's how it works, take 200 thb from everyone every month, refund those who complain and that's how you make a few billion bahts for nothing. I don't even receive the SMS that the service is supposed to send. And as I said, they wouldn't refund if it was 100% legit.

  8. I never visit thai websites and I don't send any SMS, but I shared my internet with tethering with thai people who didn't have internet. But even that, I don't understand how can someone subscribe to paid services just by clicking online banners or visiting websites.

If it wasn't a scam they wouldn't agree to refund the charge, go and ask for a refund for your internet or phone bills, they will of course refuse. They accept only to refund scammy charges.
