  1. I earn over 6 times the average Thai in our respective position. How embarrassing it must be for your average Thai schooled here, but not really educated, that he can't earn as much as a falang. It's not the students' fault. The government has been keeping Thais in the modern dark ages. So go ahead, charge me 10 fold for parks I won't visit. I walk the streets knowing I earn more than most of the population here.

I think we can all agree that you are not paid for your writing ability.

  2. Just looking at Sukhumvit in Bkk, if somebody had suggested 15 years ago there would be no more soi zero, Washington sq, Asoke corner, Sukhumvit sq and Clinton Plaza, as well as a few smaller places, all within a few hundred meters they would have been laughed at. Times change, the Bkk sex tourist era will never be the same, now it's expensive and far more of a hard nosed business. I don't know anything about Pattaya, that's for real losers IMO.

Yep, glad to have done my 5 years living in BK 97 to 02. And for the 15 years previous to that as a tourist.

  3. US officials meeting with red shirt " leaders"..... Wow, here comes

another fire storm of from indignant government officials.... I

have said it before and I will say it again, Prayut will be in power

for at least 3 to 5 years. As time rolls by , you will hear less

and less talk about upcoming elections. A headline like this is

    an example.

If he stays into power for 3 to 5 years then after that the reds are done for. All their finances gone, they need to be in power to drain the states coffers and get money in their own. So this strategy of Prayut might work as then the reds have no longer the money or the influence (they are getting kicked out of places of influence). That would mean they would a spent force.

It was supposed to be 15 months. In my opinion that time span was chosen for the probability that a major destabilizing 'event' is likely to happen within it, thus enabling the junta to extend their tenure indefinitely.
