  1. I don't particuarly have any love for the BBC but I do find they, more than any other news organisation get it in the neck for the simplest 'slight' and do more than most others outlets to TRY to be neutral, whether this is misguided or not is of course open to debate. On the other hand, it's time to remove the stupid license fee particuarly in this era of digital entertainment.
  2. Sure but on the basis that consumers want cheaper goods. Try building that Apple or Dell product in the US and see what the actual cost go's up by.
  3. For once I agree with Blair. UK already imposes tariffs on a lot of commodites from the US so this sort of balances it out a little. In 2023, we exported £60.4b and imported £57b so not really much of a deficit. Ironically the UK consumer won't shouldn't see any increases unlike our American cousins.
  4. I know. If only there were tariffs and quotas in place to control it 🤪
  5. Thailand has a problem, nearly 20% ($50b) of it's exports are sent to the US, unless they can negotiate a deal then there's going to be some hardship for Thai business.
  6. The problem is that state investment in education isn't enough and this equally applies to the UK. If you want a country to prosper for the long-term then invest in the infrastructure, in this case, children.
  7. Myself and Mrs Chelsefan took our daughter out of state education and put her into a private school. We noticed very quickly her lack of skills in critical thinking and the alarming trend of teaching everything parrot-fashion. It was obvious that many of the teachers really couldn't be bothered and were only there for a pay check, suffice to say her education has improved dramatically. Our eldest daughter is currently in University and judging by her coursework the standards are pretty poor compared to a western degree.
  8. Meamwhile a survery in Mathematics found 101% of the population were of good standard...
  9. Not a great look for the Brit but blown out of proportion. I have seen many Thai's drunk and behaving agressively but they never make the news. The media love bashing the foreigners to the point of being Xenophobic.
  10. Exploding the world population I would guess...
  11. And the so-called "crackdown" quitely stopped.
  12. An over-reaction but understandable, Probably cheap Chinese PB's that arn't tested to standards
  13. Anything coming from the US administration these days isn't worth the salt. World leader? Don't make me laugh.
  14. This old chestnut again. The Story's been circulating for the last 20 years. I'm OK with the ban, afterall it gives me a day or two to detox. What they SHOULD remove is the stupid daytime law of buying alcohol in the supermarkets.
  15. Don't dispute what you're saying but in theory with the installation of AI cameras, and remember these things are very invasive to the point they don't just check your speed but can see inside your car with 4D radar. I am sure they'll be cutting the traffic police roles over time. At technoloogy improves futher then more jobs will be lost. Hopefully they'll never see the light of day, I've already received a few tickets from the current cameras...
  16. AI Cameras are cheaper AI Cameras can't be bribed
  17. This wouldn't even be a story if she wasn't midly attractive.
  18. And yet, so many people of colour buy whitening creams. Crazy world eh! People like her are the problem not the solution
  19. The Institute of Race Relations / The Race Equality Foundation / Race on the Agenda Not a biased article at all and given it's written by the left leaning Guardian, I will take this with a pinch of salt.
  20. Isn't Phuket the ultimate scam ?
  21. Do some research on the net. Start with trustpilot but mix up your search with other websites, Remember people usually complain and very rarely compliment so you might get a negative overview. From my 20 second search they seem illegit If the tickets seem considerably cheaper than legit websites like Skyscanner then I would be wary.
  22. If the EU doesn't get a grip on immigration quickly then the far-right parties are only going to gain momentum.
  23. I agree although plane crashes tend to have a short-term impact. IMHO there has been too much nepotism, cronyism and bad management over the years that ran them in the ground. They were slow in upgrading their aircraft to fight the growing competition from the ME airlines and were always uncompetitive on price. I've flown First a few times recently and the service has got better but it's not a patch on Emirates, Etihad and Qatar. As for their website, it's a mess trying to navigate.
