Not really. They are counting each room per day.
1101 bookings * 15 days = 16,515 rooms but some will be families
Only in Thailand would you spout this nonsense though

The sensible thing would be to delay the program but with all the media-hype there would be more face-loss than you can shake a stick at

Two rai would be nice but the available parcels in the 'undisclosed location' will possibly dictate the size of lot you end up with. A one rai parcel in a desirable location, good access, views, breezes etc would be better than two rai in not so desirable location but then you may need to downsize your plans some. Good luck!
I purchased 1 rai of land only last week in Korat. We slightly overpaid at 1.1m but there were other factors we took into considration and needed to be ticked.
Electricity - If the area you are buildng aint wired then you are going to have to pay a shedload to get them extend to your property
Draingage/Water - As above
Fast internet - Not important for everyone but it was for us
Cockerels - Yeah, crazy eh, but if you are living next to or near these beasts they are fricking loud in the morning
Road - We didn't want a dirt track leading to our house.
Do you need to level off the land - Additional soil is cheap but you will probably need A LOT of it.
Location - We made sure that there were plenty of local shops including Lotus fairly near.
I am going to start building next year but have planned for 4 beds, 2 WC, Mancave, kitchen & front room. If there is enough in budget then we will add a pool

Pretty much sums it up I suspect.

Yes, I wonder if a leading question was asked, you know, something along the lines of "Given how deadly Covid is and how hospitals are being overwhelmed, do you think that tourists should be let into the country?".
Already the pollster has placed doubt into the mind, especially if she is attractive.

When they also report that it's working even better than they expected, the 'tourists' will start to sign up. Once the word spreads among tourists that it's a decent vacation experience, it will be high season.
BTW, I'm a glass-half-full kinda guy.
What tourists? Most have already made their plans for the year. People don't typically make a decision of taking a 'holiday of a lifetime' on a whim. They may get some Phuket 'regulars' but I'd be amazed if they get 33,000 every month
I'm a glass-empty, barrel-empty and brewery-empty when it comes to Thai politics.

17 minutes ago, khunPer said:I presume we are talking about international long distance flights coming from mainly Europe - other articles have again and again stated that European, and American, tourists are the main number expected - which in average will carry about 200 passengers each, if not more.
So here comes the simple math...
426 x 200 = 85,200 passenger in July out of about 100,000 during all three month, which total number seems to be scaled down from earlier more specific 129,000 guests in third quarter's sandbox.
If however, only one third of 100,000 arrives in July, the math goes like (100,000 / 3 ) / 426 = 78 passengers in average on each flight...????
Oh, perhaps I forgot that a number of these flights are for so-called quality tourists, i.e. private jets only carrying a few people onboard, then the math fits much better...????????
As I mentioned before, the earlier flights in July are going to be fuller due to farangs desperately wanting to get back into the country to see their loved ones without having to quarantine.
I bet those flights in August & Sept are going to be fairly empty...

Assuming I was psychotic and decided to go to Phuket, can I get my wife to fly from Bangkok and meet me in the hotel? The article states that partners must arrive together.
On a seperate note, I believe this is all an experiment to see how far they can push the human spirit to breaking point....

Maybe not 1-3 days but according to the article, visitors have to wait in their hotel room for a PCR result. Let's hope its quick eh!

Most do the company route, then its basically one asset to worry about, ie: the 50/50 owned company.
A divorce means wind up the company and sell its assets.
I thought about doing this myself but every know and then, there is a crackdown on "dodgy" companies..

According to the link below, you need to visit the Thai consulate in Vietnam to get the marriage certified then she needs to visit her local Amphur to update her details. I'm assuming she took your name so she might have to update her ID card.

Exactly.
and the UK government web site includes this little nugget of advice. How long before Phuket gets included in the list I wonder.
The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) advises against all but essential travel to areas within the provinces on the Thailand-Malaysia border, including:
- Pattani
- Yala
- Narathiwat
- Southern Songkhla province. This does not include areas north of and including the A43 road between Hat Yai and Sakom, and areas north-west of and including the train line which runs between Hat Yai and Pedang Besar.
Another thing they seem to have hidden away is that days 1-3 are quarantine, you are not allowed to leave your hotel.

1 hour ago, ikke1959 said:How big are these airplanes??? 10.000 a day in 5 flights...???? 2000 a flight??
Maybe the article has been changed but it says 1,000 a day. Over 5 flights that's 200 per flight which is a realistic figure but highly doubtful.
What they also haven't factored in is that most going back are probably just doing this to get back into Thailand to avoid quaranting so I would think that the first flights will be more booked out than those in August and September.

I pray this will happen chiefly for the Thai people but we all know it won't. This Government couldn't arrange a <deleted>-up in a brewery.
If on the outside chance they get their act together, I'm pretty sure they would put too many restrictions in place for anyone wanting to come.
