Eric Loh replied to Jonathan Fairfield's topic in Thailand News
It is the responsibility of the military to help the civil authority in times of disasters all over the world. They should go further and open up their bases for field hospitals. -

The ideology of judges is embedded in the pro-authoritarian elite network. Don’t expect this lawsuit to go anywhere. More court efforts will be spent on prosecuting the students at rapid pace. -
It baffle my mind as to why hasnt Bioscience expand their production capacity or even plan to expand their capacity in view of increasing demand. SK Bioscience of South Korea with Astrazeneca agreement has announced that they will spend USD132 million to ramp up production capacity. SK Bioscience is not connected to Siam Bioscience.

Health Ministry gets 12bn baht extra budget for COVID-19 response
Eric Loh replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The budget for this year was passed in June parliamentary seating. I believed the central budget or contingency budget was in the region of 500 billion baht which is traditional at about 16% and largest of budget allocations. I think the government is using this central budget. We can know whether they are borrowing mindlessly and over the limit by looking to the debt to GDP ratio and the rating agencies reactions. Thailand still have the foreign reserves to draw upon when needed. Thailand has the financial ability to spend but whether it’s spend wisely and corruption free is another story. -
This is dire situation as regards to shortages of vaccines. The government should step up pressure on Astrazeneca to co-license production to other international vaccine manufacturers based in Thailand. Top of my head is Bionet which is a Thai-French fully integrated vaccine manufacturer. There are others. Bioscience is not the only vaccine manufacturer in Thailand; only better connected.

COVID-19 Infection Rate in Bangkok Is Decreasing

His post rightfully deleted for misinformation. The RT PCR test can detect numerous respiratory pathogens and distinct strains of influenza and will distinguish between influenza and SARS-COV-2 which is the virus that caused COVID-19. -
Dr Boon Vanasin, the medical tycoon in eye of Thailand’s vaccine storm

THG is a public listed company and he is the chairman of the group. His words have consequences. He should have kept the information confidential while negotiation was still in progress rather than spoke about this in public.
