A search warrant will need a solid affidavit and this just for the garden variety search warrant. To get a sign off by a federal judge for an unprecedented search warrant of former President will need a water tight probably cause for conducting the search. The FBI knew and were briefed on what they are looking and where to look which will likely mean that someone or some staffs maybe the secret service agents have given some reliable information to the FBI. At the end of the day, a dozen boxes were taken out of Mar-a-lago. Even if not classified documents, there is criminality in taking official government documents from the WH. Whatever your affiliation, this not looking good for Trump.

Come on man, AG Barr and FBI director Wray were appointed by Trump and couldn't find anything on the tax issues and potential foreign influence during Trump's tenure. Biden administration has even permitted Trump's appointee US attorney for Delaware, David Weiss, to stay on to complete the probe of Hunter. Wray was investigated by the Senate Judiciary Committee and grilled hard by John Kennedy and Chuck Grassely as Senate Judiciary Chair. Wray reply was that the allegation of partisan investigation and efforts to suppress information in the investigation were "deeply troubling". You are still making a poor case with your allegations.

FBI director is Christopher Wray who is a Trump appointee.

Generals disdain of Trump are legendary. After returning to Washington from attending France Bastille Day and determined to have the generals throw him a biggest and grandest parade, his generals reacted with disgust. Ï rather swallow acid"James Mattis reaction. His disgusting suggestion to leave the wounded guys out of the Independence Day parade was meet with distaste from John Kelly who pointed to him that those were our heroes. Then the funny moment Trump asked Paul Selva, Vice-chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff what he think of the Independence Day parade and was told by Selva that he grew up in Portugal and Protugal was a dictatorship. Trump is that dumb. Needless to say all the above Generals have resigned in disgust like Miller.

Trump may run foul of The Federal Records Act and the Presidential Records Act and the penalties for willfully remove or destroy records maybe subjected to fines or up to 3 years of imprisonment. Individuals with possession or control of records reflecting national defense information who permit their removal, loss, or destruction are subjected to fines or imprisonment of not more than 10 years. Not looking good for Trump and possible jail time besides the other laundry list of Jan 6 crimes that will be coming pretty soon. Justice and democracy are looking good. Trump days are numbered.

US join countries like Myanmar, Burundi, Estonia, Madagascar, Pakistan etc where popular vote not used to elect their President. -
Let put on record that NONE of the GOP senators voted for the landmark bill for the people to curb inflation, lower healthcare costs, investment for clean energy solutions etc. They are more interest in election denial, childish rejection of critical thinking skills and pathetic crusading against woke. Nothing on policies. A no policy party. Schumer was magnanimous and not single out the useless GOP senators and remind the people that congress can still work for the people.

Sattahip fire could have been avoided for an extra ฿200 a panel
Eric Loh replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thalland building codes are comprehensive and in line with most standards. Unfortunately you can't say the same with the enforcement. Besides sound absorbing panels, timber panels & structures should have the highest standard for Spread of Flame. This incident will be footnote in a few weeks. See Section 2 - Fire resistance standards for construction materials & components. https://openjicareport.jica.go.jp/pdf/11710423_02.pdf -
Viktor Orbán turns Texas conference into transatlantic far-right love-in

He invite fascist leader to his home, praise Xi President for life as great, love fest with Kim, called Putin smart for invading Ukraine and stand with Saudi Arabia and defend the crown prince over the murder of Khashoggi. Republican Party worshipping Trump is a threat and the American voters need to make their stand and voices heard at the ballot box. -

Taiwan government must have heard your sympathetic squeal and will provide help for the industry impacted by the sanction. https://www.taipeitimes.com/News/taiwan/archives/2022/08/04/2003782953

Sanctions on fish and fruits, not chips. Little impact of Taiwan economy. Stock markets shrugged off storm in the tea cup tension.

Agree with you militarily China is not ready for a full scale invasion of Taiwan. China will not invade Taiwan as long as the constitution of Taiwan maintain the One-China principle. President Tsai said that Taiwan will remain the status quo in her speech during Pelosi’s visit. That is a big statement that will soothe the China hawks. Also as long as US maintain their One-China policy and don’t change their Taiwan Relations Act to direct military intervention, China unlikely to have reason for physical military aggression. The TRA only provide defensive arms to Taiwan and not intervention. China is just flexing their muscles after being provoke by Pelosi’s visit. Non event as you rightly said. .

Looking at the reaction of East Asia stock markets, all indexes including Taiwan have positive gains. Markets remain calm and don’t think that there will be any escalation of tension. The military exercise will end on 7 August and tension will de-escalate. Don’t think China will go to war over Taiwan when general public sentiments are not too pleased with the government over the poor economic situation and the long lockdown. Xi will be very cautious to worsen public sentiments ahead of the party Congress.

Let's hear from Taiwan. President Tsai thanked visiting House speaker Nancy Pelosi for her concrete actions to support Taiwan at this critical moment and said the island will not back down in the face of heightened military threats. Taiwanese were delighted and said that 'the more unhappy the CCP is the happier they are", Your concern rather unnecessary.

Think again. Trump pulled out of the TransPacific Partnership Agreement formed to resist the domination of China; left a void for China to form the RCEP. Trump will not stand up to authoritarian leaders like Xi, Kim and Putin. Will known fact.

Pelosi expected to visit Taiwan, Taiwanese and US officials say
Eric Loh replied to Scott's topic in World News
Lets start with domestic woes created by Trump. His first act was signing an executive order aimed at reversing the Affordable Care Act and vowed to repeal and replace. Nothing came about right to the end of his tenure. Followed up with executive orders that include suspending immigrant entries from 7 Muslim majority countries. He ordered agencies to review any regulations that could potentially burden the development of oil and coal. On the global front, he was pulling out of the Intermediate - Range Nuclear Forces Treaty aimed to control Russia. Pulled out of the Trans-Pacific Partnership which was meant to counteract China's economic power. Created a vaccum after US pulled out and China stepped in to creat RCEP. Who can forget his insistence to include Russia in the Group of Seven. https://edition.cnn.com/2019/02/01/politics/nuclear-treaty-trump/index.html -

Don't think imposing economic curbs on Taiwan with sand and fruit bans are massive provocation by China. Calm down. -
Kansas first state to vote on abortion since Roe’s demise

NBC project 'NO' on abortion vote with more than 60% votes counted. Wow an affirmative and resounding rejection of the radical far right highest priority target in a red state. So the mid-term may delight many on the left. -

US Air Force just left Kuala Lumpur and widely expected to land in Taipei tonight. This old girl sure has some guts and courage to face down China. Unfortunately no Republican in the delegation even though they were invited. -
Lots of if. First Rep need to flip the House. Things not looking good on that front. Then they have to decide on their dream list for their oversight committees. Sorry not much time. Lastly who will be bother with disgraced Kevin, Jordan and their likes heading the committees. It’s a wishful thinking it can rattle Biden heading towards 2024.
