Pita Looks To Becoming PM For Two Straight Terms
Eric Loh replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The energy created by Pita and MFP is awe inspiring for the youth voters. He certainly has the qualifications and support to be the Prime Minister but realistically this election is not his time. The Gen X & Y that give him massive support are not enough to give his party the House majority. Both only constitute about 25% of voters. Perhaps the next election when his support base widen that his party stand a better chance to snatch the House majority. The conservative senators will unlikely to give him the votes. These appointed senators will leave next year when their terms expire and very likely the constitution will be amended for elected senators. Perhaps next election, Pita will stand a better chance. MFP has campaigned on a progressive platform and may scare some of the mature voters which are the majority. I think they vote for centrist parties. Personally I think PTP will definitely win a majority and K Sreetha will be nominated and be the Prime Minister. He will get some support from the appointed senators. As a member of the business community in Thailand, I feel he is the best suited Prime Minister candidate to get Thailand back on the economic track. -
Thai army chief says “coup” should be removed from media’s vocabulary
Eric Loh replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
That was a very significant change of command by removing the 2 units out of the chain of command of the Royal Thai Army and into the monarchy. Render the army chief powerless to command these units like in the past for purpose of coups. -
Certainly the right way to allow the a full display of Trump's absolute disaster peddling falsehood, sexist remarks and unhinged comments on national platform. Even DeSantis campaign committee said in a statement "an hour of nonsense that proved Trump is stuck in the past". He's a volcano of bull<deleted>. Not doing himself much favor for the election bid especially from the woman voters.

Thai army chief says “coup” should be removed from media’s vocabulary
Eric Loh replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
There is a glimmer of hope that the army chief will keep his pledge for no coup after this election. The trouble making 3Ps from the Burapha Payak military factions have been losing influence and power. This new army chief is not from Burapha faction that has dominated the military establishment and politics for the last 2 decades. The junta parties are rejected by the majority of voters and will probably not secured enough seats to form the government. Some of the appointed senators may not even support them. The new regime will also not wish his reign to begin with unrest and another coup. I will be positive that the EC will apolitical. Finger crossed with a reminder that this is Thailand. -
Thaksin Tweets He Wants to Return to Thailand by July

He double his money in the City sale and the new wealthy Abu Dhabi investors poured money into the club and make them what they are today. Maybe he was smart business man. -
Will Thailand get a third prime minister with the Shinawatra name?
Eric Loh replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
She will not be nominated as PM. K Srettha will be the first choice. Paetongtarn is the brand ambassador for the Shinawatra's name who is still loved by many in the North and North-East. Srettha has little political baggage and a powerful personality in his own rights among the elites. His business acumen and experience will be acceptable to the people especially the business community. He may even appeal positively to the 50 senators that represent professional groups and private companies and perhaps half of the senators who are not from the military or police backgrounds. Thaksin is wily and he should know the danger of her daughter as PM at this fluid juncture especially with the appointed senators who make up of mostly yellow shirts. -
Really a bad time to have show on twitter when listeners are shrinking and global ad slowing. Hardly sustainable and profitable. I will give him 6 months and he will packed up.

If that happen, we will see protests that we never see before. It will not be red or yellow but students and youth demonstration which will be large and widespread. In the past youth demonstrations, majority of people agree with the demonstrations staged by young people and the Student Union of Thailand. They will also get the sympathies from parents whether yellow or red. Any untold incidents from the military and police that result in injuries or deaths will be explosive. I don't think any of the generals would dare cross this rubicon. Moreover this will be the first election under a new regime and he would not want his reign to start with chaos and mayhem.

EC don't make dissolution decision. If EC accept the legal merits of the complaint, motion will be forwarded to the court. Constitution court decide on whether to dissolve or not. EC is independent at least in theory. But when you have the EC committee members appointed with advise from the senators who were appointed by NCPO, there may be some political expediency issues. Hope EC is truly independent.

Personally I wouldn't put too much seriousness on serial activisit Srisuwan's complaint. His complaint really has little merit as regards to the Organic Act on Political Duties Section 73. Section 73 relates to the dissemination of misleading information in the course of the general election. This includes putting forward policies that EC considered erroneous or not. All PTP has to do to comply with this Section is to provide submission of the policies with full disclosure of the financial aspect and the how the system will be deployed. THey have done that. I doubt there will be any application of a motion to the court by the EC. But this is Thailand and things out of the ordinary can happen. If it does, the party will be dissolved but elected representatives can joined other party/parties. I am sure PTP and MFP already factored this kind of junta's shennigans and already have plans. This is a nonsence desperation that keep repeating and it is just pure insanity.

Thaksin Shinawatra's imminent homecoming: A risky move for Pheu Thai
Eric Loh replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
That's a generous payout for not knowing for certain how the vote will turn out. Hard to believe. -

O’Reilly’s viewerships actually increased at the time of the controversy. In fact his viewers encouraged him to fight the allegation. It’s the dropped in advertising revenues that got him fired. Age was not a factor with his viewers. His No Spin Twitter podcast was a dismal failure. By the way, he was fired in 2017; not a long time ago. Fox is holding back their treasure trove of Tucker’s information and watching his move. Without Fox, Tucker will be a forgotten man as a commentary conservative outlet. -

O’Reilly drew in more viewerships at his own peak and was the number one cable show for a long while and he is practically forgotten. Twitter podcast is losing its edge and advertising revenues. It’s hard to sustain interest of listeners. If that is Tucker’s plan, it is a losing proposition. No looking good for Tucker. Fox was his golden goose and he f it up. -

I can live with some bias but not preying on viewers vulnerability with lies and misinformation in order to make money. -

So I gathered that you have not stopped watching Fox even after they lose the defamation case for lying and misinformation. No wonder you sound confused.- 72 replies
