  1. I am sorry this man has got into this situation yet I have asked myself why he has 5 children to provide for and looking for work in Thailand when he has or had far more chance of that in the UK. My conclusion is that the man is irresponsible. The parents are left in a difficult situation for sure . Even if the man is taken to the UK , will that change anything for the children he is responsible for? . I doubt that to be perfectly honest. He has become a liability for all around him .
  2. Just turn the engine off , end of story
  3. Not worth taking the chance to find out if you are right or not
  4. When the car is running the alternator is charging the battery and running electricity to the lights etc . Any fault could ignite the petrol vapour coming out from a tank being filled . If you turn on the ignition for starting the engine the cap is back on and any vapour is dispersed by then . The risk is slim but why take the risk
  5. No of course not . But a faulty battery in a car or phone has the potential to cause petrol vapour to explode .
  6. Lightning maybe Many saying there is no risk but the experts have a criteria motive when you look at the huge amounts of money I volved in the mobile phone industry .
  7. You don't understand the risks simple.
  8. Yes it has been known before . There was an explosion caused by a mobil phone one time that I have read about when the user received a call while filling up the tank.
  9. Many reasons you could have a fault in the wiring of a car. I had my tank filled in the Philippines with a pump attendant smoking at the same time .Not seen it here yet
  10. Smoking , mobil phones , electric short from a fault in the car etc
  11. Diesel vapour can explode but needs a higher temperature .
  12. Better to write a last will of testament
  13. The petrol vapour will explode if ignited . Could be ignited by a host of reasons.
  14. I agree, but if all cars turn off there engine you minimise the risk.
  15. You mean that the present government will win the next general election with a greater majority?
  16. An explosion from the vapour coming out from the tank as you fill the tank with fuel
  17. It has to do with limiting risk
  18. I think you are correct in that assumption
  19. I agree with your comment on courtesy to the pump attendants. Refueling while the engine is running is a risk not worth taking.
  20. OK PJ , Some people need to be directed , but sure I agree , common sense should prevail
  21. OK master of English grammar i will wait with him down the street if it helps to convince his dear wife that it is a risk to refuel your car with the engine running .
  22. read it again , it was meant to mean that the man should refuse to stay in the car while refueling with the engine running
