  1. 25 to 30 percent of what? Weird headline to say the least .
  2. The back up to your point is don't allow your eyes to be bigger than your stomach
  3. I was commanded by my Scottish mother to eat all what is on the plate and could not leave the table until all was eaten . I think morally my mother was correct and I still eat all that is on the plate . I see young Thai people leaving food all the time . Rare to see an empty plate here . I would however refrain from eating the left overs Wasting food is a sacrilege without doubt .
  4. Since when has private banks been told what interest rate they must charge in Thailand ? The Bank of Thailand monetary committee sets the rates that the private banks have to work from . Private banks have there hands tied for raising interest as there are so many non performing loans out there . Plus the Government has asked the banks to not put up interest rates to help the economy recover .
  5. The banks do get your hard earned savings for free and loan out for a 500 percent gross profit at a minimum . Sadly I expect the same gauging from private hospitals since you ask .
  6. Very cosy for the bank , but should the bank not press charges on the staff that have stolen a customer's funds ?
  7. Not all i remember , but you would need to be a UK citizen to remember any of them
  8. You must be Australian for that eventuality . Means testing pensions for what you have paid into in first world countries is not attempted apart from Australia .
  9. I do believe the Netherlands has the most forward thinking laws concerning underage sex between two consenting individuals . Many countries should learn from them in my opinion .
  10. Right now I see the baht strengthening. How much longer is hard to say . As a stab in the dark the exuberance on the baht will deflate soon .
  11. The accused is only 22 years of age . That alone should explain a few things to individuals that want the man beheaded .
  12. Stone beer drank in New Zealand, OK The market for selling beer at that price is extremely low. Just for the fat bellied idle rich here in Thailand
  13. The check points are often placed on a bend and the turn around trick is easily spotted by the many police on duty . They also place a policeman on any left turn before the bend where the check point is .
  14. Our local clinic in Chiang Mai area would do the same job for 250 baht
  15. I do not believe the spin on what you learn from sitting in bars . Perhaps you should try and you may learn something . Complain about Thailand as you feel your a second class citizen ? Try a third class citizen that is expected to pay up and be quiet about it . Quality of life is something that we all have expectations of . You speak of having such great fun visiting peoples homes with wealth and sailing on a boat for days . Many are not interested in that I can assure you . Ignore would be if they could bees is my answer to this post.
  16. ,7 percent of his wealth is as you say not a big deal , yet I understand the offender has a brother who is a politician and can not afford any more damage to his brothers reputation than needed .
  17. In the UK they use the term ground floor and that is what many get confused from countries that do not use that term . I was working on some apartments about 10 stories being built by a Norwegian builder in Spain and a lift was installed . The Norwegian put the ground floor as level one like he would of done in his home land and caused a lot of confusion for the Spanish workers who use the same system as in the UK .
  18. I bought a Hyundai cordless drill . Really good for the price.
