If the lady couldn't lift her bag into the storage, why did she not ask one of the other members of her group? Or should I say why didn't the men in her group offer to do it for her? I guess because they expect someone below them in status to do it. The 'servant' told her to do it herself and she couldn't handle that.

Worst Joke Ever 2025
alien365 replied to warfie's topic in Jokes - Puzzles and Riddles - Make My Day!
Comedy takes many different forms and is not meant to be taken seriously. I read his recent one and thought it was unacceptable, while chuckling at the same time. It reminds me of Jimmy Carr's self proclaimed most offensive joke: "If only Africa had more mosquito nets, then every year we could save millions of mosquitoes from dying needlessly of aids. " (if the mods/admin are not happy with this, please delete) He's performing in Bangkok next January if anyone is interested. -
EV sales in Thailand to hit 50,000 despite auto loan regulations
alien365 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
That's good for the home charging as well then. I'm the type who likes 100% at the start of the day, but for an ev, I'd want to look after the battery. Sounds like that's no longer an issue. -

Is charging to 100% encouraged in these types of batteries? -
TCC Calls for Restoration of Universal Pension Scheme
alien365 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I get a bit fed up hearing claims to tax luxury goods more. What they need to do is seriously tackle all those working who don't pay any tax. How many of the local restaurants or food sellers actually pay tax? Taxi drivers? Will they expect a pension when they have dodged the system for most of their lives? -
Is it okay to walk naked chest in the streets?
alien365 replied to Goodboybkk's topic in General Topics
I don't know how people can do it. I'm too insecure about my body to walk around a beach area topless, never mind in a city. -
Odd. I can't imagine many men weeing standing up first, sprinkling the seat a bit, then proceeding to turn round and sit down to do the rest of their business. They pull their kegs down, sit and get comfy.

I'd have thought so. When you need to poo, do you not wee sitting down?
-
I choose toilets that use more water. The water efficient ones just don't seem to work properly. I also consider the shape of the toilet to avoid splashback. Had to change a toilet not so long ago as sitting down on one while weeing caused it to bounce back and wet by balls etc. You need a bit of space up front to avoid this and a deeper gradient.

Does this not make you one of the low quality customers eating low quality food that you despise? I personally don't have any issues with them and I definitely don't want anybody telling me what I can or cannot eat.

I wouldn't say the car itself is dangerous, more it's size in relation to others on the road. For city driving it's an excellent car, on the highways it's fine too unless you drive like a moron or have someone behind you not paying attention. Its also comfortable on hills, uphill and downhill. One of the reasons I bought one a decade ago was because it had both driver and passenger airbags, not that common in eco cars at the time. I changed it for a ranger in the end but still miss the brio.

What % of farangs in Thailand are worth talking to?
alien365 replied to bignok's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
It depends what you mean by talk to. A quick chat in the street or more? I hardly have time to see current small number of western friends, never mind meeting others. This is partly due to not mixing groups of people. I'll be doing some karaoke tonight with my Thai table tennis friends, last week I met my bowling team, the week before I met my German friend. As a popular guy, this means I have to say no to a lot to invitations. Some may think that I believe I'm better than them because of this, which is not the case. I simply don't have the energy. -
The violence against the first guy seemed fine to me. They went over the top on the dad, but the dad attacked (if you could call that pathetic slap an attack) the bouncer first. You could see the bouncers laughing away afterwards, showing their complete lack of professionalism. It reminds me of days past in my home country.

Bangkok is the world’s most visited city this year
alien365 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
I take reports such as this with a pinch of salt, but what I do know is that it was bustling around the Grand Palace yesterday. It was good to see some life there again. I wasn't really paying attention but I saw mostly westerners. The tuk tuk drivers and street sellers were all very polite too. -
Move Forward apologise to supporters as Pheu Thai forms new coalition
alien365 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Regarding PT boasting a landslide, I have no idea. I just know there were 10 seats difference. I do think its ridiculous though how BJT got so many seats with only 3% of the vote. Ultimately though, the zoning of districts has been known for a long time and it is meant to give a voice to the entire country, not just the city dwellers in Bangkok and Chiang Mai. -
Man Arrested in Patong for Selling Alcohol on Major Buddhist Day
alien365 replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
An alcoholic would not be able to go a day without alcohol by definition. There were also two Buddhist days in a row. There was no beer on sale in my local restaurants over those two days, but we were told we could bring our own and drink there. As I'm not an alcoholic, I just drank water. -
Move Forward apologise to supporters as Pheu Thai forms new coalition
alien365 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Not necessarily. Move Forward only beat them by a couple of seats in the election. People make it out that it was a landslide victory when it wasn't. The voters of the military parties will never switch allegiance to Move Forward. -
