  1. I was just saying for the sake of the NHS, a spoon of sugar is better than a cake for others. I don't add milk or sugar either. Just like my coffee is always black (mostly medium roast) and whisky straight (or a few drops of water if it's cask strength).
  2. And where do you buy your recommended tea from? Google Lens doesn't find it.
  3. If a Brit munched on a cake every time they had a cuppa, they'd be the size of... well what a fair few of them are already. I think a spoon of sugar and a drop of milk is the lesser of two evils (I'm a Brit by the way)
  4. If the lady couldn't lift her bag into the storage, why did she not ask one of the other members of her group? Or should I say why didn't the men in her group offer to do it for her? I guess because they expect someone below them in status to do it. The 'servant' told her to do it herself and she couldn't handle that.
  5. Comedy takes many different forms and is not meant to be taken seriously. I read his recent one and thought it was unacceptable, while chuckling at the same time. It reminds me of Jimmy Carr's self proclaimed most offensive joke: "If only Africa had more mosquito nets, then every year we could save millions of mosquitoes from dying needlessly of aids. " (if the mods/admin are not happy with this, please delete) He's performing in Bangkok next January if anyone is interested.
  6. That's good for the home charging as well then. I'm the type who likes 100% at the start of the day, but for an ev, I'd want to look after the battery. Sounds like that's no longer an issue.
  7. Is charging to 100% encouraged in these types of batteries?
  8. I get a bit fed up hearing claims to tax luxury goods more. What they need to do is seriously tackle all those working who don't pay any tax. How many of the local restaurants or food sellers actually pay tax? Taxi drivers? Will they expect a pension when they have dodged the system for most of their lives?
  9. I don't know how people can do it. I'm too insecure about my body to walk around a beach area topless, never mind in a city.
  10. Odd. I can't imagine many men weeing standing up first, sprinkling the seat a bit, then proceeding to turn round and sit down to do the rest of their business. They pull their kegs down, sit and get comfy.
  11. I'd have thought so. When you need to poo, do you not wee sitting down?
  12. I choose toilets that use more water. The water efficient ones just don't seem to work properly. I also consider the shape of the toilet to avoid splashback. Had to change a toilet not so long ago as sitting down on one while weeing caused it to bounce back and wet by balls etc. You need a bit of space up front to avoid this and a deeper gradient.
  13. The holier-than-thou are at it again. When will they eventually die off and allow progress in this country?
  14. Does this not make you one of the low quality customers eating low quality food that you despise? I personally don't have any issues with them and I definitely don't want anybody telling me what I can or cannot eat.
  15. I wouldn't say the car itself is dangerous, more it's size in relation to others on the road. For city driving it's an excellent car, on the highways it's fine too unless you drive like a moron or have someone behind you not paying attention. Its also comfortable on hills, uphill and downhill. One of the reasons I bought one a decade ago was because it had both driver and passenger airbags, not that common in eco cars at the time. I changed it for a ranger in the end but still miss the brio.
  16. I see the price of Heineken zero has gone down recently. It used to be about 40 baht, but is now about 32-33 baht (I can't remember exactly) in my lotus's anyway. Still can't buy it between the hours of 2-5 though.
  17. It's not that bad. I drink it quite often. Sometimes I fancy a beer but don't want alcohol.
  18. It depends what you mean by talk to. A quick chat in the street or more? I hardly have time to see current small number of western friends, never mind meeting others. This is partly due to not mixing groups of people. I'll be doing some karaoke tonight with my Thai table tennis friends, last week I met my bowling team, the week before I met my German friend. As a popular guy, this means I have to say no to a lot to invitations. Some may think that I believe I'm better than them because of this, which is not the case. I simply don't have the energy.
  19. The violence against the first guy seemed fine to me. They went over the top on the dad, but the dad attacked (if you could call that pathetic slap an attack) the bouncer first. You could see the bouncers laughing away afterwards, showing their complete lack of professionalism. It reminds me of days past in my home country.
  20. I take reports such as this with a pinch of salt, but what I do know is that it was bustling around the Grand Palace yesterday. It was good to see some life there again. I wasn't really paying attention but I saw mostly westerners. The tuk tuk drivers and street sellers were all very polite too.
  21. Regarding PT boasting a landslide, I have no idea. I just know there were 10 seats difference. I do think its ridiculous though how BJT got so many seats with only 3% of the vote. Ultimately though, the zoning of districts has been known for a long time and it is meant to give a voice to the entire country, not just the city dwellers in Bangkok and Chiang Mai.
  22. An alcoholic would not be able to go a day without alcohol by definition. There were also two Buddhist days in a row. There was no beer on sale in my local restaurants over those two days, but we were told we could bring our own and drink there. As I'm not an alcoholic, I just drank water.
  23. Not necessarily. Move Forward only beat them by a couple of seats in the election. People make it out that it was a landslide victory when it wasn't. The voters of the military parties will never switch allegiance to Move Forward.
  24. I can't help feel that if one is strong enough to get a tattoo for life on their chest, they should be strong enough to say 'stop touching my tits' if necessary.
  25. Any news on BA flying Heathrow to Bangkok again?
