How to sell gold?
Thai gold is all priced in Bht not grammes in Thai gold shops with the daily buying & selling price usually clearly marked. The buying price is for the weight & extra charged for making ornamental or jewellery which when you sell 99% chance it is just melted down & re used.. The answer to your question is that both ornamental or bullion should get you the same selling price as advertised after weighing. If they start telling you must make a deduction , walk away & go somewhere else. It can be a good long term investment, ie: I have many Bht purchased for less than 9,000 Bht a Baht Selling over 100 Baht is "notifiable" whatever that means. PP or ID needed at reputable stores

What's so good about Thailand?
After working here in Bangers for 23 years have retired to the country. My life style, house, amenities, land & relaxed style of living would just not be possible in my home country. Healthcare does cost but works here, many countries including the UK, Oz, NZ as examples the "free care" is diminishing in quality fast along waiting list for anything needing a specialist.

Thinking of making this the last time I quit drinking- but one problem!

Police Certificate For No Criminal Record
The office is in Police Central in Plonchit just past the Police General Hospital. Took about 3 days. Issued in Thai. I got it translated & the Indonesian Embassy accepted without needing a certification

Thai wife wants to buy land
We have purchased 8 times over 18 years & sold 3 times. Land office very helpful, very efficient title deed (chanote) changed, signed by the Super after land tax paid. It is painless. For all you doubters out there the sales have shown an average of 16% per annum, firmly tucked away in MY bank account. Important as working in 6 countries no pensions

Healthcare costs Australia Vs Thailand
Let me tell you there are specialists in their field & there are specialists, (anywhere in the world). Thailand for example: a hip replacement, cannot beat Bangkok Hospital but would never go there for dentistry. Kidney & liver problems go straight to BNH. If possible for any brain surgery try & get a consult with Ramathidobi (public). Their knowledge & expertise as a teaching hospital is immense Horses for courses, as we say.

Has Thailand found legal recipe to beat soaring child obesity?
I still think Thai children would still be lower weight/age ratio than than the US or UK. I am amazed how much fatty pork Thais in general eat though & the "easy" snack opportunities are now provided just about nation wide by 7/11.

Bee collection
The world needs every bee it can get, wild or otherwise. An apiarist would puff a bit of smoke, find the Queen, put her in a hive & all will follow. Amazingly regimented, bees

Looks like the police have really cleaned up soi 11 now. No more medical pot caravan sellers.
Good. I hope the bar caravans are next. No licences to sell booze, no business licence, no adherance to trading times, no toilets, & no taxes being paid (I bet). But I suppose the BIB get their commission & "protection" monies so they all look the other way.

Best way to ventilate a hot room?
I would build an attractive covered balcony over the entrance for a start, so can keep flyscreened doors open. Leave the extract fan on in the bathroom which will pull air in from this area. Still need a small aircon.

Thailand Hikes Entrance Fees for Foreign Visitors at Historical Attractions

Just that it is called a locals discount I am very surprised you fellas put up such a kerfuffle over a few measly Bht

Foodbanks UK Versus Thailand
In my 34 years in Thailand I have never seen a "starving" person. In many villages I have visited & lived it would never be allowed & food would be shared/given to them. Even a gang of homeless drugged Thais around Suk Soi 4 always seem to be given food. Seen a few down & out farangs on the street who looked hungry, 3 of which I have offered to buy food but they declined, just wanted money for booze. Last time I was in Wellington I was shocked at the street dwellers, cities seem make it worse
