    Hanoi is the place for you, not much to see in Saigon. Hanoi for culture, Saigon for party, Da Nang for beach. For money, ATMs take Thai debit cards. Thai Baht can be difficult to change. All the airports have a bus to the town center, usually $1-$2 but the locals may tell you they don't exist.

    Noticed this new offering this morning in my WISE app. Create virtual VISA cards instantly, looks like you can have as many as you want. I've only created one ........ but the app offers another creation immediately. Freeze, delete, change limits all instantly. Very useful. Just press the 'card' button at the bottom of the WISE app to get one.

    More xenophobic than Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam and China. Less xenophobic than Laos.

    They did this before, they used to hand out free SIMs on the incoming flights in 2009. Obviously the talk time was extra expensive.

    Cambodia, Philippines, Vietnam are much more fun. I did 5 years of Multi non-Os (Savannakhet and Saigon) when CM immigration were a little 'difficult', but now they're really easy so I'm back to Non-O extensions at CM. Enjoyed all the travelling the Multis forced me to do. China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines were all great.

    Different quality of plastic, or maybe they're glass. My 25yo pickup h/ls are still perfect and they're definitely glass. The newer your car, the more plastic (and less metal/glass) in it.

    In 2009, it was the easiest country for me to live. 1 year VISA cost 120gbp for anyone over 50yo, purchased by post in the UK, 3 days from applying to having the stamped passport in my hand, reason 'to look around Thailand'.

    Was staying in a guesthouse in Siem Reap filled with Israeli backpackers 2020, they were all really friendly. The guys were all totally buff, and the girls were all chubbies and I asked them why ......... The guys said, "we just finished out military service, and the gals aren't require to do what we have to do"
