  1. 19 year old massage girls ...... is that allowed? Hopefully Pattaya soi 4 and the photo is enough to identify this reputable establishment to our readers, and she'll soon have enough donations from our generous forum members to buy a new phone. Luckily the police didn't think to question this unfortunate young lady on her underage drinking the night before.
  2. Reminds me of 'Lady of the hills", another arrest years later, no cause of death, no evidence of murder, no new evidence. Out on bail 4 Feb ....... 3 months later no more news. What happens to these guys, do they stay in some 'legal limbo' forever? Are the police hoping they'll suddenly confess if tortured long enough?
  3. Very brave, all the Americans I've known claim to be Canadian to foreign locals, in order to avoid trouble.
  4. I doubt this was in England! Would also point out the police are the jackboots of our governments, uneducated thugs.
  5. I never equated tattoos with low-lifes
  6. The last 3 jobs I had in the UK (1978-2009), nobody had tattoos, because we were all well educated people. When you state all your co-workers had tattoos, it doesn't make us think it's normal, it just makes us think you worked with uneducated people, and probably fitted in with them.
  7. Not in Thailand, you are only Thai if one of your parents is Thai. I think it's only the USA counts birth in country as entitlement to citizenship.
  8. So much hate for Jews ........... Where did all this hate come from?
  9. More like don't want expensive American cars when a Chinese car cost 1/3 price If they match Chinese prices they'll get more sales.
  10. Where does it say dad is Thai?
  11. I had a Starbucks coffee almond Frappuccino a few years back in London. They actually asked if I wanted any coffee in my coffee.
  12. 200kbht compensation ordered by judge, paid to me by his parents via the court in March. Good enough, considering I wasn't expecting anything.
  13. Right at the start his lawyer asked how much to drop, and I answered 1Mbht, they didn't reply and never spoke directly to me again. He obviously thought saving 800kbht but losing his government job, never working again, and staying in his parents house for the next 3 years was a good deal! They probably could have haggled me down right at the start, but once it's public prosecutor Vs criminal ....... you're out of luck. My misses only filled in a police report so I could claim on my m/c government minimum insurance for hospital costs, nothing more (13,800bht). The the police found the guy from traffic cameras (who could have imagined that?), I didn't hire any lawyer, I didn't press any charges, I didn't expect anything, I didn't spend any of my money (except 2kbht for an interpreter to fill out police forms). But they kept calling me back to sign another form, I didn't really participate except as a witness to a crime.
  14. I always asked then for cannabis, they'd always appear later with some, not expensive if you haggled. They wanted $20, I'd offer $5, we'd always settle on $10.
  15. 100% solar now in Thailand, I no longer care much about the grid. Viet power cuts, not that much, Cambodia and PI were randomly out nearly every day for 4 hours.
  16. Been here since 2009, most I ever got was 52bht/GBP, last exchange I made (last month) was 45bht, lowest was 38bht (but for less than a year). I freely admit my country is poop, but your country is less value poop. Odd how in the past 20 years your country went from a place all foreigners (including me) wanted to live, to a place many Australians wanted to leave (without their pensions). Don't shout at me, it wasn't my fault!
  17. I would say different rather than bad. Got used to drinking black coffee with condensed milk (50/50 or 70/30) fairly quickly, and ended up liking it. Coffee and a chicken roll in Highlands coffee was incredibly cheap $1.50 US.
  18. My Aussie pals used to get 30bht/AUD, now it's 21 ....... drop of 30% (manufacturing, minerals, food, etc) I was getting 50bht/GBP, now it's 44 ...... drop of 12% (and we make nothing, and have nothing) It seems the world doesn't value your country that much!
  19. Final update, Last month I was invited to the probation office to discuss his sentencing. A bit odd I thought, but I'll go. They asked if the 200kbht compensation payment was enough, or did I want more and I told them ...... He's a danger to the public, if I say I'm happy with the money and you let him go .....then he harms someone else = my fault. So I'm saying he shouldn't be allowed to walk free, and if you let him go ..... then he harms someone else = your fault. Which I could see they didn't like (they clearly wanted to let him go), but they wrote my comments down and passed them on to the judge. So this morning was sentencing, Judge shouted at him a lot then said he couldn't be trusted to mix with the general public. 3 years home incarceration at his parents house with ankle monitor, monthly psych evaluations to evaluate his ongoing danger to others, plus community work and 15kbht court fees. (This was all in Thai, but I think I've got most of that right, a lot of words I had to guess) An armed policeman led him from the court to fit his ankle monitor. Surprised they actually listened to me, he won't be running anyone down for the next 3 years. And my injuries had essentially confined me to my home for 4-6 months, so in keeping with the crime. My misses comment to me outside after ...... "I'd rather have had a year in jail and got it over". 19 months from crime to sentence.
  20. I think the attention is more about her tits than her shoes!
  21. Don't think Israeli's holiday in Muslim countries, unless in full military kit.
  22. Come on dude, those girls were all a bit chubby, it was the guys that were all ripped. I actually asked one of them "how come you're ripped, but all the girls are a bit chubby?" He replied, "they don't make the girls run all day wearing full packs, they get to sit around in camp"
  23. Can't speak for the Thai economy, but it certainly prevents my wife & kids from having to live in her family's corrugated iron hut.
