Most Thais don't rent rooms with appliances ..... maybe an old fridge. But generally landlords rent because they want money. And western foreigners aren't significant as tenants. Plenty of potential Thai customers.

I was last there in 2016, went to all the museums, hung out in Hyde park/Kensington gardens every day, no problems at all weather was nice, Starbucks had a half price offer every afternoon.

My TCL 75" is the best TV I've ever owned and cheap, 16,500bht from Lazada. Had it for over a year and it's perfect. 3 year warranty. Samsung and LG twice the price only 1 year warranty, and I had one fail after 18 months that Samsung couldn't repair.

My kids government school fees due next week, 8,000bht. The misses is out buying his uniforms right now, about 5,000bht for 2 pairs of shoes, 2x school uniform, 1x scout outfit, 1x gym outfit, 1x traditional Lanna outfit, bag, books, pencils, embroidery his name on each shirt. Most sold by the school shop at inflated prices, if you don't buy from them, your kid doesn't attend! And my kids pal, I just paid his government school fees, 5,000 and he gets my kids shoes and uniforms s/h from last year. His mom is broke, trying to earn 200bht a day on market stalls, selling whatever she can find.

Viet beaches are all deserted during the day, then packed at sunset. All rather odd from our western POV, but all the locals want white skin and hide from the sun.

3 year marriage visa, or child visa sounds good though $135. I believe you need to border bounce every 180 days. Not that much effort, bus from Saigon to Phnom Penh is cheap.

Nah, no pensioner will ever vote for them again. No point in them changing, we old folk will remember until we're dead. That's 10-15 years until Labour will possibly win again. So the 4 years they have, is all they'll get. Their only chance of victory will be to flood the country with immigrants!

I'd legalize all drugs, then sell them in pharmacies and bars at cost + 10%. No more cartels, no more thieving to support drug habits, no more accidental overdose, many less people in prison. And if the users want to overdose ....... why not let them, their bodies, their choice. There's nothing you can do to stop them, so might as well be legal and as safe as possible.

Yep, limited to 110cc until age 17. My daughter had a Honda wave 110 for her 15th birthday. Her school took the whole class down to get their D/Ls. Full throttle everywhere she went, but survived and now drives a car.
