Well people from even the recent past would marvel in how easy we have it. My life is incredible and only experience the above when a pet dies. There are so many wonderful things the world as a whole has experienced the last 50 years even with the small conflicts ( compared to the past). It's so easy to live in this world and I have little materially compared too many.

Some times you just have no choice other than puckering up and taking what follows. Not my style but happy someone else did the sucking.

Yep, we have issues but comparable to the Russia? Russia is an injured predator that is very dangerous still. I just don't think the USA has to be the leader in restraining their aggressions. I also don't think the average Russian want to invade other nations. The ones I know are nice enough but extremely proud to be Russians. Weird dynamic that nationalism promotes.

I think most in the the US wish they didn't always have to fix other countries issues. It's blatantly obvious that the USA attempts have failed miserably in most instances since WWII. Have a feeling Ukraine will be another failure. Russia isn't the power they once were but why keep poking at a diminished power that has anger issues. Europe's GDP is comparable to the USA. Why can't Europe deal with Russia being it borders Europe?

Back pre 2000 it was so much different than the west. Now same same mostly but still a little cheaper.

Fair enough and I don't know the tourist by country breakdown. Don't think Thailand cares much either. It all about the money 🙂 I also don't understand the Chinese (not all Asians) fascination with group travel. I would pay at least a $1,000 to my woman to not take me. There does seem to be less long term expats in the provinces the last few years but over the last 12 months in my area the number has probably doubled (2 or 3 to maybe 5 or 6) 🙂

Yep, those Thais that don't have a clue like yourself. Hmm, then again they are a top 10 tourist destination in the world? What were they in 2000? Hmm., think I remember they were somewhere around 90. They have been successful beyond their wildest dreams and to my frustration. I'm an owner of a mean dog but he isn't large enough to cause much damage to an adult. He is adorable when he is not being an idiot and would have hard time putting him down. I do keep a close eye on him when very young children are around which is extremely rare. These people knew what type of dog they brought into their home. Something isn't right with these types of people. Maybe they are just ignorant but regardless not a type a person I would hang around. That cage in the picture is sad. What type of person thinks it is humane to keep big animals in that tiny depressing cage. If it has to be cages like that then definitely don't own such a creature.

I never stated it was my dream. Nor did I state it I believed it would be 90%. I did state if it grew at the same rate as 2024, 90% of cars would be EVs in a decade. The person I was replying to mentioned that EV sales were not growing at the same rate as 2024 which obviously was not sustainable. I get it - you love ICE cars and I have zero issues with your affection.

I've read that before too but I think there are some strong arguments that disprove it. Lithium batteries are currently the best option but new technologies will replace them if it becomes a necessity. I doubt electric vehicles powered by lithium will be the only option in the next 15 years. Just a hunch...

My car of choice but to be honest mine just sits outside and rests for sometimes weeks. I might buy a SUV next purchase but leaning towards an EV and don't want to buy that expensive Tesla truck. Wish I was wealthier at times.

Assume you didn't read the article. EV sales are flat while ICE vehicles are down 43%. If EVs growth remained the same as 2024 nearly 90% of cars on the road would be EV in the next decade. I own an ICE car and am happy with it. You are delusional. Open your eyes and see what is really happening on the roads. It is an amazing transition. There will be years when EV sales drop 20% but at this point it is ICE cars that are being hammered.

I think people could lie in the same way some do with the ed visa. Fake employment info, not attending a cooking class, fake medical appointments... Got to go back and read my post - maybe I worded it wrong.

This is the wrong audience for this post 🙂 Your world is different than most here but is realistic. I've played in both and what I paired with was very dependent on where I was looking for love 🙂 Lots of benefits of hooking up with easy going night live Thai women but the odds of having normal deep conversations at any point in the future is slim.
