  1. Which apparently should not be given until the prisoner has served half of his sentence - ah well - one for the rich - one for the poor!
  2. "If not, it's not the worst." ? Confused? I am, and what's it got to do with the post anyway?
  3. "Him and another 50 Pom's, all drunk and looking the same." Let the Brit Bashing commence!
  4. Yay! The Brits are back in the news! Not much of a story to get het up about, but the cop in the pic seems to find it's brightened his day!
  5. English Proverb:- "There are none so blind as those who will not see."
  6. Is it a Pit Bull? Just asking out of interest!
  7. Many "selective searches" available and they all come up with the same answer - Pit Bulls are the most dangerous dogs!!!
  8. Not again!!!? "But they make such wonderful family pets" Yeah, right - try telling that to the bereaved families here and in any country where they are not banned! Rottweillers used to be called "Devil Dogs", but I think they have lost that title. In America alone Pit Bulls are responsible for HUNDREDS of deaths. From a report by an Injuries lawyer/attorney in the USA (Sorry, no date available, but even if it's a couple of years old, the facts are frightening):- The most recent dog bite statistics by breed that were responsible for a dog bite-related fatality include the following: Pit Bulls: 284 deaths Rottweiler: 45 deaths German Shepherd: 20 deaths Mixed breeds: 17 deaths American Bulldog: 15 deaths Mastiff: 14 deaths Siberian Husky: 13 deaths Labrador Retriever: 9 deaths Boxer: 7 deaths Doberman Pinscher: 6 deaths And how's about this for going from frightening to ridiculous?:- From AseanNow April 2021:- Giant, aged 2, the Pit Bull breed or Ban Dog that savaged its owner to death last week has been taken to his funeral in Pattaya. He took part in a ceremony called "khor khama" in which he apologized to the corpse. Wonderful family pets? I wouldn't live in the same STREET as one of these killing machines, and can see no reason why the whole breed should not be euthanised and wiped off the planet - there are plenty of other "family friendly" dogs to choose from!
  9. No, the big heads want you to think that numbers are growing - in the same way as a few years ago when TAT came out with some ridiculous stats re the tourist intake. When someone from a well known tourist area said "Well, where are they all, then?" the answer was given as "They are all in the country experiencing life in the proper Thailand"!
  10. "In addition to this, the Finance Ministry is considering reducing the beverage tax on imported and local wines, spirits, and beers" They've been "considering it" for as long as I can remember - quite a few years!!!
  11. Read the post PROPERLY, and think about what it says! (The words "short of" should give you a clue!)
  12. It says quite clearly in the post:- ".....all foreign tourists arriving in Thailand during the New Year holiday period." Now how long does the "New Year holiday period" last for? And as you point out, the Government will not pay for it for ever - just a scheme to boost figures during the "High Season", so TAT can be justified, and they can use those figures for months to come! And I wonder if the scheme will include pre existing conditions for all the elderly travellers? At 78 years old, I can't even GET insurance covering pre existing conditions - or even without them !!!
  13. Yes, I see nothing in the article that says they all shared the same room?
  14. From today's AseanNow:- "Local police in Krabi confirm a national crackdown on overstaying tourists is underway..... Immigration police have launched another national crackdown targeting visa overstayers........" From AseanNow dtd Friday 7 July 2023:- "Thai Senior Immigration Officer Vows to Purge the Country of All Overstayers Within Three Months By Tanakorn Panyadee - Friday, 7 July 2023, 14:16" I suppose the excuse will be "That was under the old Government - nothing to do with us"!
  15. Same as when Covid hit the UK and all those lucky people got paid to sit at home on their bums instead of working - I believe it was called "furlough" and I (and no doubt many others) said at the time "Somebody's gonna have to pay!": "11.7 million employee jobs were furloughed through the scheme, at a cost of £70 billion.Dec 23, 2564 BE" Now where did the money for that come from? A hint - look at the current prices of EVERYTHING in the UK now!
  16. "Cutting diesel prices by 2.50 baht per litre" Great - easy to understand if you own a vehicle that runs on diesel! "Revamping petrol prices" Not so easy to understand - what does "revamping" mean if you have a vehicle that runs on petrol?
  17. And here was stupid me thinking from the photo that they were going to scrap the stupid "no alcohol to be sold between 2pm and 5pm" law, so that Xmas /New Year tourists (and all other customers!) could purchase booze with their groceries at any time!
  18. Can't be bothered to scroll through all the replies but "Another Quality Tourist"? OK - I'll get my coat!
  19. "......undergo a basic training course like soldiers." Now that would be a sight to behold which ain't gonna happen - Thaksin running round a parade ground with a rucksack on his back!!!
  20. So he didn't get a fair sized fare or a tip - who's the loser?
  21. Why do Ladyboys, Indians and Gold, and sausage, egg and chips always seem to go together so well?
  22. "Any older person that wants to stick his w!llie in a minor should be locked up." Agreed, and one has to abide by the laws of the country you are in, but come on - 17 years old? Any 17 year old girl can look 10 years older with a bit of make up, and I am guessing that she didn't tell him she was only 17! "Also men here that think they can have a normal relation with a girl thats 35 years younger..........what a joke. Get youself examined." Plenty of them here, mate - myself included (but in my case only 25 years difference between me and my Thai wife who I have been with for 16 years) I suspect the examination rooms would have waiting lists akin to the NHS in the UK!
  23. ".......the de facto Pheu Thai boss-cum-convict at large who has been staying at the hospital for nearly four months now without schedule for dispatchment and return to Bangkok Remand Prison." It was ever meant to be thus! Did anybody actually think that Thaksin was going to return to Thailand and go straight to jail to serve out an 8 year sentence? The man himself said that he wanted to return to Thailand to spend time with his grandchildren, and you can bet your "bottom dollar" he didn't intend to do that inside a prison!!!
