"...........she wanted the suspect, who allegedly made a mess in front of her store, to be aware of his actions." I think that the "suspect" (I could think of a better, unprintable word than that!) is well aware of his actions, and hopefully when/if caught will be made well aware of the consequences of such a disgusting act. Having a prostate problem can sometimes cause the urgent need to relieve oneself, (when you gotta go -you gotta go!) but in full view without the slightest attempt to conceal oneself? And defecating? That is absolutely disgusting behaviour.

Illegal Bangkok Bar Raided, 100-Plus Drug Users Found
sambum replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
It's not about the workers performance, it's about the tourist dollars! Now how about that ridiculous "cannot buy alcohol between the hours of 2 pm and 5 pm" in supermarkets, but it would seem is widely available everywhere else? -

I would have thought that the test is a bit more sophisticated than "On drugs" or "Not on drugs"! -

He's wanting his picture in the papers again - and again - and again! -
Have to agree with your final paragraph. I come from a small city in England, and it has slowly deteriorated over the years as far as public order is concerned. One street in particular which used to be a very popular shopping area is now completely full of pubs/bars, night clubs, and takeaways. The other disturbing thing is that on a weekend - from 6pm on a Friday night - barriers are erected at each end, and it is closed to traffic, including buses and taxis. This area has become a type of "Dodge City", which is notorious for violence and troublemakers, and I doubt if there is one weekend that goes by without a spate of "anti social behaviour" On the other hand, I have lived in Thailand in one of the tourist resorts fot nearly twenty years and have literally never seen a fight! I am not saying that they don't happen, (I did see two Thais facing off at each other over a minor traffic dispute , but it was resolved after a lot of posturing and intervention by the local taxi drivers!!! ) but I frequent bars and restaurants regularly, so I am not deliberately keeping out of harm's way. so I guess I am fortunate, but I certainly feel safer here than my old hometown in England! . .

Violent Altercation Erupts at Nightclub, Leaving Several Injured
sambum replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
"Samut Prakan — A brawl involving more than 10 Thai youth broke out at an entertainment venue in the Paknam sub-district, Samut Prakan province, on Saturday night, December 2nd, resulting in injuries to 9 people." | "In the early morning of December 3, 2023, a violent clash unfolded at a nightclub in Praksa, Samut Prakan, involving over 10 tourists seated at two tables. Prior to the altercation spilling onto the streets, multiple people sustained injuries." 10 Thai youth or 10 tourists? One on one? Nah - wouldn't happen! Confused? I know I am! -

Neighbour Held For Beating Italian Man To Death In Front Of His House

But would you beat him to death with an iron bar because you were "angry"? -
I disagree with your assumption that all Government hospitals and staff here are "great." A few years back, I had a heart problem, and was rushed to a Government Hospital and spent a couple of days in ICU (which was. to be honest - "great" However, I was then transferred to the Public Ward where conditions were far from "great". The "Head Nurse" was laughing because I didn't speak Thai, I had to go to the tolilet in my bare feet because I was rushed into hospital in only a pair of shorts and underpants. The toilet floor was swimming in urine and there were turds on the floor which had turned black, so they must have been there for a few days at least. I complained, and was told that they were short staffed and didn't have enough cleaners to do all the necessary tasks (B***s***!) The toilet should have been the first place to be kept in a clean condition, as any trained nurse should know. I was there for 3 days, and while I was there, at least 2 people that I know of died on the ward (OK - it's a hospital - people die, but these people didn't seem to be gettinhg the attention they obviously needed) And the doctor that checked my heart functioning on a TV monitor actually sighed and said "Oh dear, doesn't look good" - not exactly a reassuring statement! Anyway, the specialist that I saw was of a different opinion, and I was discharged after 2 days, went home with a few pills (Blood thinners) and have been fine ever since - that was nearly 3 years ago, and have been to other Government hospitals, with other problems, but none as bad as that one, which I refuse point blank to return to. Some of them are better than others, but some do leave a lot to be desired.

Nine killed and more than ten others injured in truck accident in Si Sa Ket

" If not dead, then he should be charged with multiple murders, tried quickly and publicly, and then executed. Commute that sentance to life in jail with no chance of ever being released - no royal pardon eligible. If it happens again in the next few months - do not commute the sentence." Don't quite know what you are suggesting here? Executed? Life sentence? And "if it happens AGAIN"........? -
Chinese tourists still prefer Thailand despite visa exemptions
sambum replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
From the headlines on Thu 23 November:- "Chinese airlines cancel flights to Thailand as demand drops The Thai PM is defending the temporary visa waiver recently introduced for Chinese tourists, despite several airlines cancelling slots due to low demand." From the headlines on Fri 24 Niovember:- "Despite increasing competition from countries offering visa exemptions to Chinese tourists, Thailand’s tourism industry remains secure due to its dominant market share and increased expenditure per trip, according to the country’s Tourism and Sports Ministry."
