  1. Oh, yes, I feel much safer now that this despicable and dangerous criminal mastermind has been apprehended! ???? Surprised that the "pointing finger" hasn't been used to show which is the "bad guy"!
  2. "Colonel Suphraprik said this was all part of keeping Thailand safe and both Thais and foreign lawbreakers were on his radar." How's about having a blitz on people with guns without a licence? Oh, sorry - too dangerous - better stick to tourists on overstay enjoying themselves - that'll "keep Thailand safe"!
  3. There's a difference between "like an escort" and dressing "attractively"!
  4. Of course FIFA want a share of the profits if Thailand are "passing on" the signals to other countries and charging them for it! It's a bit like the "no sub letting" clause a mate of mine got hit with a few years ago, here in Thailand. He had paid cash up front for a 10 year lease on a bungalow, but he travelled frequently for months at a a time, and every time he went away, he was getting burgled. So he asked me to look after/move in to his property while he was away, and although no cash changed hands, the landlord demanded 5k a month from me, estimated as 25% of the rental value.
  5. "Big players whose interests will be protected......" Like - I wonder who? ????
  6. "..............unidentified Caucasian male foreigner........." "backed up by police" (If he was her boyfriend, surely she would know what Nationality he was?) Something fishy!
  7. Of course! Simples! - they think that the louder/better their P.A. system is, the more customers it will attract. You and I know that is not the case, and the empty seats bear witness to that, but "Thai anti logic" is hard to understand sometimes! The same applies to empty bars charging sky high prices for drink. I once asked why, and I got the answer "Because we don't have many customers"! Doh! Just take it from there!
  8. Quite right about where you live in the UK. My next door neighbour's house was empty as she was away for the weekend and the burglar alarm went off at about 2 a.m., so I phoned the Police. Their reaction? "Can you check and see if there is any signs of a break in, or see if there are any intruders?" I replied "Is that not your job?" (I wasn't about to put my health at risk!) and put the phone down. As I had given them the address, they attended the scene about 2 hours later to switch off the alarm, by which time any "intruders" will have been long gone!
  9. Welcome to Thailand's judicial/regulatory system!
  10. Why do they need him to stay in power? Last I heard he was going to try for the top job, but the guy who has the top job doesn't want to go?
  11. Oh dear! Mr Anutin might have to find another way to expand his wealth - maybe the Building Trade?
  12. "Now a huge number of people have applied for licenses to grow their own, so the police will be obligated to arrest and convict them. " No, they apply for the licence BEFORE they start growing their crop (theoretically!)
  13. You are totally correct in your last sentence, and IMHO (as I have said in another post) there are 2 reasons for this - to make himself more money and to promote himself as the "good guy" in the run up to the (eventual) election.
  14. Of course, but that would would have meant a few dozen more committee meetings, and Anutin wouldn't have had time to oversee them as he was too intent on planning his future finances!
  15. I agree with your post, and it's just another example of this Government being the "Hub of Turnarounds". Regarding your last sentence, this has been said many times before. Unfortunately, there will be nothing done regarding that particular situation until the RTP actually do the job that they are supposed to do, and that will not happen due to the pathetically low wages that they are paid, which in part has led to the level of corruption that can be seen from top to bottom in that particular organisation.
  16. I think a lot of people have now forgotten that Anutin has put his foot in his mouth many times, in addition to his anti farang comments in the past. His reasons for promoting weed are twofold - one to make him a multi millionaire rather than just a common millionaire, and secondly to put himself over as the "good guy" politician that understands young people and their "hopes and dreams" in the run up to the next election. God/Buddha forbid that this clown becomes PM!
  17. "For the most part, I find these people boring when they go into their own little bubble when under the influence,............" Maybe they go into "their own little bubble" because they find you and your attitude about "self absorbed stoners" boring?
  18. A few years ago (70's) some of my friends came by some "skunk" for the first time, and one of them ended up flat on his back on the floor with a "whitey". (For the uninitiated, not a racist comment, but in a state close to unconsciousness!) Some one asked if he was alright and he groaned back "Call me an amblumance!" - so someone said in a slurred voice, "OK, you're an amblumance!" Oh, Happy Daze"! ????
  19. Before the Ukraine conflict, I found that Russian tourists were, (for the most part) loud, rude, ungrateful, and arrogant - especially the families. I have noticed recently, however, that probably because of the war in Ukraine, that Russians now appear to be a bit more mannerly, and aware that there are other "peoples" in the world apart from them! (I am assuming they are Russians because of their accents - they may be Ukrainians for all I know!)
  20. A bit like "There is no prostitution in Pattaya" ????
  21. "...............which has helped fund the cost of the broadcast right." Should that not read "........which has helped fund the cost of the broadcast, right?" ????
  22. "It's just a game..........."? Nonsense! :- “Football is not a matter of life and death... it's much more important than that.”― Bill Shankly Just joking - I agree with you about these overpaid prima donnas kicking a ball about for vast sums of money!
  23. I think it will probably cost him an arm as well as a leg! Unless the doctor who has taken up his case is doing it "pro bono" - call me cynical but ????
