EIA to international standards ? LOL !!!

Good for them ( although I'm unclear what "waste less live" actually means. A translation problem I guess). Such schemes need rolling out countrywide.

Domestic waste in Thailand seems to consist mainly of plastics and is very different from waste from naval vessels. Having done a survey of waste at UK naval bases I speak from experience. This method requires too much work and management to be applicable for the island. Waste minimisation is far more useful, e.g. being an island banning all non-recyclable plastics would be a start.

You tend to be judged by who. your friends are. Be careful Mr PM.

Big money speaks, not only in Thailand.

As said in the article, maybe, just maybe she'll arrive for the verdict + a sick note covering her last non apperance and a crowd of several thousand appear. Now that would really cause the pooh to hit the fan !!!

Working in confined spaces is always a risk. Not sure how the rainwater was a factor, but entering without giving the workers an oxygen meter is murder !

Don't ever use DHL . They not only took off all the bubble wrap off my packages and then presented me with a 5000 baht customs bill ( for purely personal items). When the boxes finally arrived many items were damaged.

Many "stars" in the West freely admit to using drugs.Thailand is no different apart from the court sentences seem random and sometimes OTT.

Was in a certain hotel in Bangkok 2 weeks ago. A small Thai beer was 250 baht, a bottle of non-vintage blended wine (plonk) was 2,500 baht and 250+ a glass. The actual rooms were fully booked, vast majority Chinese, very few of whom drank in the bars or resteraunts. The wine waiter didn't even blink when I asked the price. Farangs are there to be ripped off, but maybe rhey tgink we're all either rich or on business expenses. To keep on the thread, I wonder what they are charging now !!!

Saw one guy, aged mid 50s being refused re-entry from Cambodia. Not sure of the actual circumstances but the guy was very confused and upset. Bit uneasy seeing it happen.

If you regard "shopping 'til you drop" as a leisure, then OK, but otherwise I smell something very fishy about this "award".

If that amount is being seized by the police then just how much is getting through ? There must be a large industrial operation somewhere producing these drugs, or is it hundreds of backstreet garages ?

Poisoning dogs seems to be a frequent thing i the LOS.. Over the years we've lost 2 dogs to poisoning. Other locals have lost some too.

My local shop has increased prices way over those stated. The locals are boycotting it as the next shop 1 km away is still selling at the old price.

When you've got the money you can afford such expensive toys plus the personnel to train the pilots and maintain them. Unlike Thailand !

The joke is that the biggest retailer of duty free booze and fags in my part of Isaan is the wife of an immigration officer based on the border. So I guess her trade will be increasing.
