We left our Thai home in 2016 as we did not want to support a coup government in any way at all.
We had hopes of possibly moving back to our Thai house as it finally looked like Thailand was once again going to be free. ????
You are just using that as an excuse. There is virtually no difference living under the coup government for foreigners. What is the real reason?

It appears the victim had a past. And his current wife is only 24, 19 when they got married.
Whats the issue you are claiming here?

No need to worry. Big Joke is in charge of the case now. He will get to the bottom of it.

Not a daughter, but my wife was 11 years younger than my eldest son when I first brought her to the UK 10 years ago. No problems at all

If you have permanent residency in Thailand, you can use the Thai channel for entry with or without your Thai wife.
Ability to use the Thai channel at immigration is one of the benefits of having PR.
Dont need PR. If you are married to a Thai, you can use the manual Thai lanes. Simple as that.

There is secure cheap parking at the 7/11 there. It is controlled by a barrier.

As you are an Austrian citizen your wife is entitled to free movement in in the Schengan area as part of the EU family member scheme. This visa should be issued free of charged and should be processed quickly and without question. As part of this scheme you are allowed to apply direct to the embassy of your choice. Do not be fobbed of with excuses or being told you must apply via TLS or VFS.
I am a UK citizen and when the UK was part of the EU we successfully used this process 3 times. Netherlands once and Sweeden twice.

Your pp is actually the property of UK gov.
It's basically illegal for you to do anything to your pp.
BTW: most countries cut of scan strip .
Also generally place stamp in pp confirming that any visas, reentry permits etc are still valid
Yes I understand the government owns the passport, I was suggesting a way around the need to post the old passport back, for them to cut off the corner and return to sender. Surely if they gave permission for the holder to cut off the corner and upload a photo, this would save an enormous amount of time.

Do you have an active Thai phone number?
Yes I do I have used it to get a pin with SCB but I still get a message saying unable to process at this time. BB following the process just tells me to call them. Both attempts via the apps. Alas I think I will have to sort it out when I am back at the end of September.

I have just received my new UK passport, I applied online in the UK. You have to send the old passport and will not start processing the application until they receive the old passport, they send it back with the corner cut off. A rather unnecessary step in my opinion. An easier way would be to ask the applicant to cutt off the corner and upload a photo of the old passport with the corner cut off.

I am over in the UK for a few months and am in the process of changing phones. I have successfully reinstalled and got access to my UK banking apps but not the Thai ones. With Bangkok bank I follow the options but it ends up telling me to call them. With SCB the app recognises me but fails to process the request.
Has anyone successfully achieved this?
Thanks

You guess wrong. I have been legally married to a Thai citizen for 9 years and my wife gets no preferential treatment at all. If she applied for a settlement visa and starts the 5 year process, eventually if she lives in the UK predominently she would get settled status and a UK passport, but its not automatic just because you are married.

Yeah I know, I'd like something stronger but the Doc is a bit shy.
You are only taking a low dose. The ones you can still get in Thailand are 1mg, take 2 of the ones you have for the full effect.

Not OTC but my doc prescribes me Alprazolam 0.5mg.
They work ok and I feel fine the next day.
Thats Xanax that you are taking then.

You have 3 outcomes.
1. Overstay and pay 500 baht a day, possible but not probable problems in the future.
2. Overstay get caught by immigration and you will be deported.
3. As suggested visit immigration and get a 30 day extension, 1,900 baht.

Why can't the mother stop her?
Because she just ignores her and does her own thing. The mother being from Laos is in Thailand illegally and is worried about further interaction with the police.

Unfortunately in villages this is allowed to go on. In my wifes village there is a Laos woman who was married to my wifes uncle. She has a 12 year old daughter who insists on seeing and going missing with an 18 year old. The mother cannot stop her, so she went to the local police. The police made his family pay compensation and now all is ok, she can see him with no intererance from anyone. What a nonsense.

If they are polite and give good service of course. Its part of the saying thank you process.

Yeah, sound advice to overstay !
"Departing with a four-day overstay will mean a 2,000 baht fine (500 baht per day) and an overstay on your immigration history which, while not a big immediate problem, could be held against you in the future."What are you on about, I didnt offer advice to overstay. Where did you gey that from?

You dont need Eric for IPTV. Its so easy to do yourself. The best provider by far is Wizz TV. Just google them, they are well established. Just order the package you want and follow the instructions they send you.
I have a yearly package for a single connection with VPN for 3,100 baht or £73. I bought separately an Android box. You just download Wizz TV to it, its only an app and away you go. All Sports channels across the world, 100's of movies and 100's of on demand content. 1,000's to choose from. I brought my Andriod box back to the UK with me as I am here for a few months and it works perfect over here as well. Works best when diectly connected via an ethernet cable but works fine on a strong wifi via a firestick.
There is a lot of fear around installing IPTV yourself thats why people like Eric are making a business of doing it for you. It is very easy as long as you follow the instructions.
