Yes correct. But there now seem to be flights from KL to CM hence the question!

There may well be flights scheduled. But 2 questions, 1 are they on the list of approved semi commercial flights 2 are they actully flying?

  2. Despite what some posters in this topic are saying, it is relatively easy to fly from the UK to Thailand ar the moment visa exempt now 45 days or a 60 day Tourist Visa. If you decide Visa Exempt you just need to get $100k Covid Insurance, best get a Thai Policy at this time see attachment or use Revolut Premium or Metal from the UK. When insurance is sorted you can apply for the COE for pre approval. After pre approval you have 15 days to upload flight and ASQ to get the COE.

The UK lockdown does not affect long haul international travel. There are many reports of people having no issues at all.

Really? I suspect that one day in the near future free state quarantine for Thais will end.

Thais will be made to pay their way, especially if they have left the country since the spring time lockdowns when COVID was well underway.

No free lunch for them, leave during a time when anyone has to quarantine then that's your bill to pay.

Yes its only as I say a rumour, but it has to end sometime. Thais are now abusing it. I have heard of many in the UK using SQ for a visit and then going back to the UK. Thais who work abroad are goinh backwards and forwards using SQ. It has lost its meaning months ago. There should be no repatriation process for Thailand now.

Remember that all the current visa types--or exemptions--are suspended.  In effect, right now they don't exist.

Lol wrong. Single Entry Tourist visa allowed. Non O based on marriage or retirement allowed. Please keep up.

  5. Its a bit unbelievable the Thai Visa forum allows articles like this to be posted unchecked. Its embarassing. Tourist Visa is 60 days extendable by 30 days. They are clearly referering to a 30 day Visa Exempt Entry. Come on Thai Visa get yout act together.

  6. The sole reason that this has been introduced is because of the cameras that some bars in Bangkok and Pattaya have introduced. In an effort to stay in business and to give the girls an income these bars have via these cams been encouraging remote customers to buy them a drink via Paypal. I have seen trays of shots bought for the whole staff. These are causing problems. There was a well published issue were a girl was pretending to drink Tequilia when it was in fact water. Personally I hate any camera in a bar that I am drinking in and as far as I am concerned, its good riddence. However its best that you people in the rural areas of Thailand understand why this has happened.

You can always make a phone call. True costs 1 baht per minute to a landline or 6 baht a minute to a mobile.

Vyke gives me 250 land line minutes and 88 mobile minutes to the UK for $3, its charged in dollars. Thats very hard to beat once downloaded on the phone you call as normal via the app. +44 and away you go

  8. If you want to call friends obviously Messenger, Skype, Whats App are best. However sometimes you just need to make an international call to a company or someone who is not on these platforms. I use a VOIP app called Vyke. You buy credit in dollars and it is mega cheap to call everywhere. I paid for 3 dollars months ago and still nowhere near using my credit. Give it a try.

i am a US citizen and been with my partner over 20 years but not legally married.  I recall getting information somewhere that she will need some document from the US embassy to release my body to her (for cremation).  Is that a Thai requirement?  Something that can be ignored?  If not, is this document something that I can get ahead of time so that neither she nor my family in the states needs to be bothered with the bureaucracy.

Didn't know where to post this and TV search not much help as usual.

Marry her save any issues, poor lady she deserves it after 20 years.

My girlfriend is flying from Bangkok to Amsterdam on January 7. She keeps insisting that she needs to get a corona test before she leaves, and that it's the Thai authorities that require that, but that seems quite odd to me, because it doesn't make any sense. Does anyone know if it's mandatory for Thai people traveling outside the country to get a corona test / medical certificate. My girlfriend sent me this image, but I don't read Thai, so I don't know what it says.
Hope you can clear this up for me. Thanks!

OP your girlfriend is mistaken. There is no requirement for a Covid test to leave Thailand unless flying with an airline that requires it and any transit country requires it. Certainly The Netherlands do not require one

I think some airlines require it.

A friend flew back to Amsterdam with Qatar Airways and had to get a Covid19 test before the flight.

I think not a Govt requirement at either end.

Also I know a thai lady who flew back here from Hong Kong on Thai Airways who also required it before she could board.

No Covid test required to fly with Qatar or to transit through Doha. Thai citizens do not require a Covid test to enter Thailand, its the first time I have heard of Thai airways requesting that from a Thai citizen. I believe in both cases you are mistaken.

I have made multiple flight reservations in February and March in hopes I can get a retirement visa from Washington DC consulate.  Does anyone have solid information regarding “semi-commercial” flights.  Are all Cathay Pacific flight to BKK acceptable?   Sorry.  This is confusing to me

    I am also slightly confused.
    I had a Non-Immi O with retirement extension and also a re-entry stamp.
But these have expired in August.
So, now I have to apply for a new Non-Immi O in my home country?
And will this be granted (without any major problems), or are there any difficulties or requirements to be expected?
And after that, go through the well-known retirement procedure in Thailand?

Depends on your country, the UK have now started to issue Non O based on retirement that you can convert into an extension of stay in Thailand

All this talk of O and OA visas and re-entry stuff has me completely confused, so I have looked at my passport to see exactly what I've got (probably a sign of old age).

According to the stamps in my passport I have a "NON-IMM" and sometimes written as a "NON-O" and I do have a retirement extension which I renew every year along with a re-entry permit.

So what exactly have I got and what does that entail if I went overseas and wanted to come back?

    Thanks in advance.

Yes from what you have written you have a Non O retirement extension of stay with a re entry permit. No insurance is required on renewal. Non OA visas are only issued in ones country of origin.

This is an extract from email sent to me today by Emirates insurers ,Allianz ,

"If the UK gov. is advising you not to travel but you somehow did so, this will be under your exclusions and will not be covered unless you provide us with a proof that you were allowed to travel abroad."

Conversely on Etihad website  (who also include free Covid cover) its insurance conditions specifically say cover IS included even if traveling against government advice !!   But I would not feel confident that there would not be some glitch when the crunch came - we are the ones to pick up the pieces ...from a hospital ward !

    Ok thanks
