Good Points. The problem is how they die and why farangs alone...millions of tourist and 1000s of expats but that includes Japanese, Indians, Chinese, Koreans too...

If it was just natural...Japanese, Chinese, Indians should figure in Jump too..but 90% of the news is farangs jumping...WHY?

Because you get your news from farang-centric sources like this.

  2. Oh, I missed something from my list of embarrassing clothing - those weird, cheap-looking, loose-fitted shirts with a opening that goes halfway down the front. Usually in a white or cream coloured fabric that's so thin its almost transparent. Beloved of chubby middle-aged expats for some reason.

Actually Soi Biker, It is not really embarrassing as much as it is pathetic to a great degree. There is clearly a "click" of posters who's life is this site.  I know I would never refer any close friends to join due to the behavior. But in fairness 99% of my friends are Thai's, both at work and home so no need for them to come here.

But to JJ Green's comment, I do at times find reading posts somewhat entertaining which is why I drop by and post.

Agreed, it is sometimes funny to see the nonsense people post here.

The reason I think its embarrassing, though, is because this site is one of the first places people interested in Thailand will come across when they search for information online. What must they think of us expats when they read some of the moronic trash that this forum is full of?

Like anywhere in the world,  i presume its all related to location, demand and supply and each individuals perception of worth.

I could rent somewhere very big and nice for the same money in Rangsit, but i don't fancy sitting in traffic for 4 hours a day going to and from work. I could probably rent something the same size or bigger for less money on the same soi, but it would be a lot older and  not have the facilities that i currently have. People pay more because they have different requirements and desires. The same why some people want to eat in restaurants rather than at home. You can always do things cheaper if you want, why would you pay 20K, when you can get the same for 10K?

I don't live somewhere miles out in the middle of nowhere like Rangsit. God forbid!

  5. On busy forums like this, the moderators don't generally have time to read every single post, so they rely on users helping them out by reporting problematic replies.

It's not compulsory, so don't worry about it if you're not interested in using it.

I've had this message a number (maybe 10 so far in a couple of days) of times "Service unavailable", when navigating from the main page and when trying to open (for instance) a specific page where a thread has multiple pages.

I can only resolve the problem by leaving the TV website and going back in again (and then it doesn't always work), it's very annoying. It's only happened since the upgrade NEVER before.

What's it all about, is there a "proper" solution, is anyone in admin reading these messages?

    Joe

"You may experience some issues until we are 100% upgraded. Thank you for your understanding."

Admittedly, they have hidden this message away at the top of pretty much every single page of the forum, so I guess it's understandable you missed it.

Can anybody explain the logic in the government banning all alcohol sales and consumption every time there is a holiday for a national or relgious celebration or Royal's birthday, for which Thailand must hold the world record. What has abstinence from booze got to do with any of this? Sure, some sensible restrictions might be justifiable but why a blanket ban that even covers enjoying a glass of wine with a meal in a restaurant? We all celebrate in our own way, provided we are not causing nuisance to others we don't need the thought police telling us how to live.

They're not banning all alcohol consumption. If you want a drink in a comfort of your own home, that's fine. No problem at all for a functioning adult capable of even a modicum of forward planning.

Robert Ludlum wrote the Bourne Trilogy, therefore after the first three The Bourne Identity,The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum it's just rubbish Hollywood scriptwriters cashing in on the popularity and excellent writing of Ludlum's spy novels.
They will all be cash cows now and I believe Damon said after No.3 he wouldn't do any more until they waved a big ,fat cheque under his nose!

Big Hollywood movie in 'intended to make large sums of money' shocker!
