  1. Communithai Magazines first issue will be out in the beginning of August distributing 5000 copies of which 3000 copies will be distributed throughout Chiangrai. This is a free Magazine supported by Local Business.

The first issue will feature the top 10 Restaurants in Chiangrai,

Looking forward to Tue, where can i get a copy?? If a good restaurant did not advertise with you, will you still list them in the top ten?? There has been a publication in Chiangmai for many years, and she will only recommend places to eat and stay only if they add with her. Hope you don't do the same. :o

  2. Do you actually answer people on this thread or is this a 'Joels Thread Only, all posters bar myself shall be ignored?'

I've got a great idea, why don't I ask the moderators to give you your own section of the forum to post the reams of data flowing out from the lab.

Agree, give him his own thread to babble, most of us don't want to read or ignore his long posts, and if we are interested in the subject, we can go buy one of his best sellers. :o

  3. No dosh maybe? (cheap bastards) :o

You got that right! Missionaries don't have any money, they are usually supported by individuals from their home county and a large percentage of that money goes into there ministry i.e feeding and clothing the very poor, raising orphans. Cheap bastards.

Trust me Newbie, you don't want to start this one again, you will be bombarded. Let sleeping dogs.. :D

  4. Any body who feels like contributing cash, there is a very worthy cause here and I guarantee your money will be spent wisely.

Account name; Tayto.sort no:3433667712 . Bank of Neverland:

    Micheal,

I knew you weren't hiding in Bahrain or London any more, but why Chiangrai. I knew the ranch

was big too, but you got your own bank there too?? Welcome to CR, and i hope people contribute to

your request. I know the money flow to you isn't what it used to be. How about a freak concert here someday??? :o

  5. TukCom - bought Lost Season2 and Rome. (perfect quality) From my experience its either hit or miss from other sources - depends on how recent the film is.

Brit is right on. My DVD lady in the north told me that she has DVD's within days of the movie hitting BKK, but if i want a good copy, wait 2-3 weeks and she will have it. :o

  6. What's the situation as far as internet speed, reliability, and cost in and around CR?

    CHEERS!

(Note: Mumbojumbo....I've been searching like a crazyman for "gym chiang rai", "gym chiangrai", gym cr".....but I don't see much. I'm guessing there's a reason for that.... :D

The thread i referred to was on page 2 called Sauna/Steam w/ map. :D Search engine only serches topic titles is think. :o

  7. I'm flying out on Sept 28th early in the morning. could be the first flight out for all i know. should be exciting.... but as far as the guy flying the plane not wanting to die, remember the plane crash in phuket (or was it ko samui?) a few years ago in the storm? that poor guy didnt want to die either, but apparently was told not to return to bangkok. he tried 3 times to land the plane. safety is not first and foremost in the minds of any business here, including airlines.

it occurred in koh samui. the co-pilot was a friend of my ex-wife.

I remember the last storm related crash being in Surat Thani. :o

  8. A must see for the first time visitor to Chiangrai is our infamous Chainsaw Museum. :o

That is not listed on the TAT Website - Does this museum have a website and a location. Also I would have thought Texas would have been a better place for that.

    Khuntan,

You are right the Texas Museum is allot more better----sorry speaking Thai engrish. Thanks for the Ha,Ha back. Some other (SM's) would have X'd me. We enjoy living in a slow com. Contact me on your arrival, and i will show you some secret places few have seen.

  9. We must also hope that the money they received from Chiangrai business owners will end up in the form of a printed advertisement, as they surely promised everyone...

Balls on Jerry, I think you see the light clearly. I heard the proposed introduction is not Aug 1 now, because they don't have enough advertisers?? Then when is it.??? You people need to explain more. :o

  10. In the past we had a good sleepy forum, with sometimes not a posting in

a couple of days. We had no problem, only asking for good places to

eat, bowling, bars, etc. Now on our front page, we have 3 closed threads,

and 2 re-directs. We also have 1 thread that was comepletely obliterated.

We have been told that a thread has to me moved to a completely different

subject to save band-width or whatever. There is a thread on TV called "what

music are you listening now". If you post, you will be on Page 138. Can some

of these old post be deleted, like the first 120. Pics use up the most. I think

a scan of all the pic posts, and if they are from people that don't know how

to knock there posts down to a reasonable size=delete them=more ban space

    Just a thought :o .

Back to CR, Let us sleep again please.

  11. closed/redirected/reopened/disappeared/restarted/closed/

A "Super Moderator" visited our small forum recently and created havoc to one of our threads. This"SM" has a bio that states he was born in 1907. TV should retire people before they reach this golden of an age. Our moderator is doing a good job here, and doesn't need outside geriatric interference. Just a thought. :o

  12. Kay's restrurant is not real Mexican food, but i like it. Her pizzas aren't really pizzas, but i like them. One thing she really makes good is the salsa. I keep telling her to jar it and sell it. Anything different in this town is ok with me. :o

  13. I never added these replies, maybe th Nigerians are super- cyber-they have blocked me from posting i think.... :o

It is allways nice to read something three or four times, it is like chewing, it makes it easier to melt into the blood. You get more eye for the details.

Compare it with reading The Koran, The Bible or Das Kapital.

Nothing wrong with the writings of Erg and Tayto, they are very inspiring, but I hope you don't mind if I put the repetitions on the shelf :D

    Please Mumbojumbo, don't give up!

  14. So Jai Dee was wright.

    Move to classifies.

I wouldn't agree with that, scam or no scam, we're big enough in Chiang Rai to monitor our own forum and if it is real then it belongs here.

It would be nice if it was real, somewhere we could read about local events and read about local people and information.

I think Chiang Rai is big enough to support a newsletter or a magazine, so if these guys turn out to be hucksters maybe someone else may like to take it on.

Personally I would have liked it to be a community newsletter/magazine run by a committe of local expats with lots of local input and advertising and maybe for the benifit of a local charity.
