  1. I can assure you as I have an employer who does the same for me every year and I can say without a shadow of doubt that total costs amount to something like 10,000 baht per annum. Unless they are falsifying documents for Visas and WPs there is no reason 350,000 baht can be a reasonable sum.

    Why ?

if they are using a top shelf legal company to do the paperwork, you would easily run up some significant invoices for professional services...although the OPs wife paid for the actual application fees, the company provided the paperwork, so thats professional fees for 2 people

THB 10K LOL..you correct on the application fees to immigration, but what about professional fee for drawing up the paper work and the agent who walks everything through ? So if you think 10 pa covers all this your dreaming

Funny i have an employer and i have no clue what they pay pa for professional fees around WP renewals, and i dont care, not my problem

Mine cost me yearly about 40 000 baht.

350 000 is very exaggerated, however i believe they put this amount to prevent people like OP quitting after few months.

May be the amount also includes OP travel costs, settling in etc

  2. That amount is ridiculous. You should consult the Thai Labor court and file a grievance notifying them of the absurd terms.

Thai labor court would discard the entire contract, however employer has not withheld any money so Thai labor department has no jurisdiction at all.

Company can file civil lawsuit seeking compensation in the amount stated in the contract . Will only cost company 60 000 baht, recoverable from defendant upon win.

If company choses to take this step, OP will not be able to leave the country and will be liable for just as much in his own legal fees.

If I were OP, I would offer to compensate fair amount, 35000-50000 and end it there.

Should company refuse, OP can always use it as evidence that he tried to negotiate and settle with fair amount. Thai courts like that and would be more inclined to rule in OP' favour .

The labour will not discard the entire contract, they legally cant do that, they can invalidate certain clauses if they breach the labour laws thats all and declare them unenforceable under the labour law

I can assure you they do and they can from personal experience at least 5 times

I have a contract for all employees and they simply discard it, claiming it is not in line with Thai labor law.

You are welcome to challenge it in labor court, if you willing to blow 30000-60000 baht with no chance to recover this money.

  3. Good overview of taxout.

What Phu-rich claims is NOT true anymore, at least here in EURope now. There have been several court-procedures about it and hotels/accomm are now free to quote lower prices if they so want on own sites, on the ground or whatever. Ans I myself have found this to be true. The booking site has indeed been adapted to reflect this. There have before also been procedures about its exxaggerated claims about ''no more rooms left for tomorrow'' etc-they also were forced to blow a little less high.

Agoda is a sub-site of booking, as is hostelworld (specialising on hoStels=multi bed dorms). HW still wants customers to pay a commission upfront when booking, the acomm sees nothing of that.

Agoda is NOT a sub site of booking.com

Both are owned by Priceline ( as is hotelsbycity.com, who i work for as a second tier affiliate.) Kayak & Hotwire Hotel

of course u can offer a lower price BUT if u do, (at least here in Asia) the hotel booking site will no longer work with you ( its in ur contract) . and as most hotels get upwards of 65% or more of their guests thru the hotel booking site they will not offer a lower price

    PS: looking for deals>

    start here

Name ur own price on Priceline

    http://www.wikihow.com/Bid-on-Priceline

    Incorrect again .

In the contract it only states offering cheaper rates on other sites , it does not mean in person or over the phone.

And no they will not drop hotel, they will however call non stop annoying you if they see hotel being offered through other site even at 25 satang cheaper .

  4. You will NEVER get a lower price at the hotel direct online than booking.com or agoda ( both owned by Priceline ) offers. They are not allowed to and if the staff finds out they offer a lower price online they will be dropped.

I have never had a problem with them and love being able to book the room and cancel 2 days ( average) before i need show up and incur no extra fees.

    Very incorrect.

There is no rule and nothing to stop hotel from selling room at a cheaper rate and no hotel will not be dropped .

The only condition is that hotel can not advertise cheaper rate on other websites.

  5. This euronews just can not get it right either on purpose or due to stupidity .

It is not Muslim holiest site, it is third holiest site.

No, it's you who can not get it right....and I doubt it was on purpose. Must be due to what you accuse the "euronews".

" is Islams holiest site outside Saudi Arabia"

A mosque in the jungle would be 500th holiest site, yet they do not prey with back side to it. Doh

  6. In diplomatic speak, Kerry is saying he does not fully agree with Netanyahu's propaganda that the Palestinians are responsible for the incitement.

And Kerry is right in that. Increased visits to al Aqsa, continued evictions in Jerusalem, continued settlement building, and condoning (by inaction) Israeli vigilantism are all incitements.

Wow and now you are mind reading wizard.

Can not not to see your other talents

Educated people know that diplomatic language is different from normal conversational language.

I guess that's why you miss so many humorous insinuations aimed at you.

Are you a diplomat ? Hope some government is aware of your status, otherwise you making a fool out of yourself with silliest statements

  7. This euronews just can not get it right either on purpose or due to stupidity .

It is not Muslim holiest site, it is third holiest site.

    From the OP:

"The compound is Islams holiest site outside Saudi Arabia"

It is 3rd holiest site, makes little difference where on earth.

In this case it makes all the difference.

No it does not . It's either holiest or it's not.

You either win and come first or you do not.

When one preys with backside facing so called holiest site, it kind of becomes not so holly after all .

And you are right , do not let facts get in the way of truth

  9. I used to use a small electrical repair shop in the road with the Indian temple on it behind the market. I went there on Monday to get a DVD player repaired and found it had closed. So I was actually going to ask the same question on TV as the OP has asked here, about alternatives.

Then I remembered Amorn - which I stopped using a few years ago for overpriced/very bad attitude reasons. I relented and went there yesterday and they called me last night to say the DVD repair would cost 300 baht, which I think is reasonable.

Or can buy a new one for 500

  10. Inaccurate or not, this is not the point here, the point here is that the over lord and the most important

person in Palestine at that time, a person of immense influence and respect, sat with Hitler begging him

to do away with the Jews, make sure to not let them come to Palestine, is he any better that Hitler?

Who dose that? who sit down with one of the worst dictator mass murder in the world history plotting

the liquidation and demise of another nation in modern times?

is there any better proofs of the Arabs/Palestinians intentions towards the Jews? dose the world remember

or even knows all that, No, all the see is a bloody Palestinian child and his mother crying, that's more

than enough to brand the Jews the evil, heartless nation, and the world asks, why there is no peace in the Middle East....

At the time the Grand Mufti was talking to Hitler, ie BEFORE the holocaust, Hitler was NOT a mass murderer or notorious, so your insinuating question about who sits down with a mass murderer is misleading, to say the least.

And it still does not excuse the way Israel treats Palestinians.

But it's good enough excuse for you when Palestinians kill Jews.

Good to see your rational thinking ;)

A lot of nazi and ss officers ran to middle east for safe heaven.

Can not hear yet another troll response and reasoning.

  12. JERUSALEM: -- The fear and anger on the streets of Israel show no sign of abating.

This is only the beginning. The occupiers will continue to live in fear because as the reap the whirlwind the whirlwind for the illegal and immoral acts they've committed recently and in the past.

The righteous anger expressed by the Palestinians is being met with understanding in capitals across the globe.

    Enough is enough.

Yes now with so many Arabs who have managed to move all across the world and try to impose their will, no wonder they understand .

For everyone else with brain , it's pretty clear more and more daily.

  13. Laughing Gravy, i have found a sexy girl for him, also large size.

They will go on a date tomorrow to see if they like each other and if they do, they should be getting into bed within next 2 weeks as she is about to go into season.

PM me if you interested and will let you know once pups arrive.

I get pick of the littertongue.png , but can speak with the owner of the girl to let you pick also before anyone else.

PS. girl is also non aggressive and playful, so pups should be a joy to have, but to warn you my boy is super naughty and super annoying, so be prepared to be busy if his kids take his personality.biggrin.png

PPS. Both are large size and tall, not the short leg fatso'sgigglem.gif

  14. went to this place on the bottom floor of Tukcom with my friend to get his car remote battery replaced

What A chuffin fiasco and because of the info on this thread about this place I warned him about their scamming

Sure enough they tried it on, after keeping us waiting for about 25 minute the scammer appeared with the remote and asked for 500 baht

<deleted> we said its only one of those cheapo small chromium batteries, surely not more than 100 baht to replace?

He said it needed a repair ( well he would, wouldn't he)

Because there was four of us and i think he felt a bit intimidated he settled for 200 baht which was in any event a con because he hadn't actually replaced a new battery in the remote (we marked the old batterY)

So be warned about the activities going on at Tukcom, IMO they are now so short of customers that they are conning just about everyone they can

I hate to say, but you do have to blame yourself partly for not asking the price before.

Every shop, every technician in Thailand would try it on if customer does not ask for price prior to work being done.

For others who have problems with air remotes, why do you even bother to have it fixed when you can order a new one from the factory or get a copy from Numchai in Naklua for 100 baht?!

My puppy ate all 3 remotes from every room in the house, bought 3 new copies, 100 baht each. Identical to original just missing the LG sticker and all functions work just as original,

Original from LG was quoted 350 baht each, plus postage and tax

  15. Assailant... what a nice word for a terrorist.... and how much sugar coating can the world's media

apply to minimize the crimes of the Palestinian's ' Assailants ' ?

So was the Israeli Jew who stabbed 4 innocent Palestinians in Dimona a "terrorist" or a "sugar coated nationalist" as the Israeli media would have us believe.Or is this a case of double standards?

So tell me is he arrested and awaiting trial or has Israel held a big celebration and named a street or a village in his name?whistling.gif

Now post for me a link, just one, where arab was detained or arrested by Fatah or Hamas for attacking a jew?

    I will wait with patience.wai.gif

PS, You, along with a few arab loving troll group have been whining about disproportionate use of force, so what are you whining about now?

  16. Not to mention their 50 year illegal occupation of the West Bank, Gaza, and the Golan Heights.

    Golan Heights belongs to Palis?

And how did you arrive at 50? at least be smart enough to do the maths or use calculator

As for Gaza, well your knowledge , or i should say lack of any is pretty obvious, so no need to address that.

You do know posting drivel over and over does not turn it into a fact?

  17. Every time I think someone has wronged me, I sneak up on some stranger and stab him in the back. It not only makes me feel better, but it brings me sympathy for my complaint.

I always get my way in the larger community after stabbing strangers so I've made it a lifestyle. The more I stab people, the more popular I get. Soon I'll be the most popular and most respected man in the world!

Throwing rocks at people with machines guns or to trying to crash cars by hitting the windshields is for sissies. Stab the bastards and you can rule the world!!

    Cheers.

And do not forget to complain if person who you want to stab shoots backlaugh.png

  18. Personally i prefer for occupiers to fire back rocket for rocket with the same aim, but thankfully Israeli government is above that.

Right the Apartheid state of Israel is WAY above that. They just build a wall surrounding Gaza and bomb them whenever they want. Surely you cannot compare this to the Warsaw Jewish ghetto in Poland under control by Nazi Germany.

In fact Israel is pretty similar to the Nazis. The Germans just wanted an Aryan state just as the the Zionists just wants a Jewish state. And both of them are pretty keen on using ethnic cleansing to accomplish their goals.

Not often, but sometimes it does help to think before speaking.

Not only there is no wall around Gaza but Gaza ONLY gets bombed in response to 10 000 or so rockets and Gaza has not been occupied for a decade.

Furthermore, when Israel pulled out of Gaza, Israel got rocketed within mins not even days.

But do not let facts get in a way of truth, best is to make up drivel, post it and then gloat.

Bit like Arabs latest blooper, claiming Israel killed some terrorist kid in cold blood, only to be proven wrong.

It was also nice of Arabs to NOT apologize to the rest of the world for "mistake"
