I've been living in HH for the best part of 5 years and do really like it here. I like also to eat a healthy diet of many fruits and vegetables, however it occurred to me how much pesticides and chemicals must be used on the crops here, so can anybody direct me to decent organic produce? I know of villa market obviously and big C, but I mean a store dedicated to organic produce.

- You should be ok for a second double entry visa from Vientiane. The worst that is likely to happen is that they limit you to one entry.
- You will have no problem with Laos immigration.
- If you have a valid tourist visa you should have no problem with Thai immigration.
- No idea about the photos.
I think i will be okay getting the 2nd visa from Vientiane, but you never know. If they refuse double and just do single, i will say no thanks and try Savanakhet.
I recently returned back from Savanaket (loved it there actually even if it is a bit sleepy) and my passport has 2 pages left. The rest are full of 90 day reporting stamps for ED visa's for about 3 years and then before that 2 years of tourist visa stamps. I had no issues whatsoever and have a double entry tourist visa now. So good luck anyway I think you will be fine.

I am in my late 20s and have had psoriasis since around the age of 16. For those who do not know it is an autoimmune disease that is genetic and effects around 2-3% of the population. It is kind of like eczema only worse. Red raw and dry flakey patches of skin that are unsightly and also embarrassing.
Many doctors will prescribe steroid creams or pills that kind of control these out breaks on the skin, however they do not address the actual cause of the problem which is in the gut. Also some people go as far as to take immune represent drugs which imho is crazy as that can cause way worse conditions such as cancers etc. As well as these 'treatments' UV light does work a bit and so does Vitamin D which of course we can obtain from the sun, however if you have it under our hair in areas as I do this is not too helpful.
My point here is that I have seen improvements in the past by taking out of my diet; alcohol, red meats, wheat and gluten, refined sugar, day products and nightshade vegetables. I have been able to more or less keep to this but when I head out to eat here, there are very limited options on what to order. I LOVE Thai and Asia food don't get me wrong, but if I order say geng keow wann then I know that the next few days or weeks I will have an outbreak. Does anybody else here suffer from psoriasis and if so how d you deal with it? -
idiot. at 53 years old he knows better. he could end up doing a bit of time on this charge.
It's a major misconception and generalisation to say that with age comes wisdom

haha oh wow! Luck of the Irish .. NOT!
It would feel dodgy and edgy buying weed here but selling it must be quite a sense of paranoia. I can understand that some foreigners love living in SE Asia and cannot seem to find funds, but this is moronic. Go back home and get a job or if you really must sell weed, do it where you won't be serving hefty jail time in some of the worst prisons in the world -
Thanks for the replies everyone. My main issue is that when you fill out all of the forms for the new passport (probably the most annoying forms I have ever filled out) they ask about transferring existing visas etc. At the time I did not need to do that but as I mentioned I had to delay my return to Bangkok to hand in my passport and start the renewal process. Now they have all the forms and the forms do not state I need to transfer any visas. Should I just mention this at the desk in Bangkok? The woman at the British embassy wasn't that competent to be honest either
Thai visas/Stamps etc are NEVER transferred by the UK passport office or the British Embassy.
Visas are in any case never transferred.
It would be best if you asked your local immigration office if anything in the old passport needs transferring to the new one.
Why should the 'woman' at the British Embassy be knowledgeable about Thai visa issues?
oh right, so when I get my new passport I should he'd to the immigration office in Hua Hin (town of residence) and ask them to transfer it over shall I? I am not too clued up on the whole renewing passport business obviously, hence this thread.
Old passport/New passport...letter (some immigration offices dont want it) small form to fill in and hand over, 15 minutes later all done, and its free
The last time i did this, year before last in BKK ....15 minutes, didnt need any letter (never had it anyway)
You mean in the tall trendy office building where you get the elevator all the way to the top? The issue I had was that I did not know you had to pay via wire transfer and had cash. So it has all been delayed until the 30th and now I have a different visa in my passport
You can pay by credit card as well for your new pp
No i mean Thai immigration, Trendy do not transfer permission to stay stamps from Thai immigration
1. Get your old and new passport & the letter
2. Go to your local Thai immigration dept
3. Fill in the Thai immigration form requesting the trasfer, its a small form takes 30 seconds to fill in
4 hand all your paperwork over the desk to the nice immigration man
5 15 minutes or so and for free they will hand back both PP with the required stamps put in your new PP
cheers thanks a lot! Have a good weekend

The British embassy has nothing to do with new passports these days and even less to do with transferring Thai permission to stay stamps
I thought Trendy issued a standard letter as standard these days, confirming the new pp issue and requesting transfer of the required stamps....so confused what your talking about
They do and I filled all that out, however I went and gave them my documents of where I am staying, proof of income etc but I had to delay the whole thing. They still have all of my documents bar my passport which I have, since then I have a new visa which I did not write on the standard letter, if that makes sense ...

when you leave Thailand take the new one and the old one and make sure when you return they put the stamp in the new passport but show the old one to give them proof of the old one.
oh ok thanks a lot for the info

I have a UK passport and it has 4 years left, however just 1 page remaining before it is full. I went to the big office building in Bangkok a month ago with an appointment to renew it and everything was fine until it was time to pay. Silly me handed them cash and they said I couldn't. I don't have credit cards so I was stuck. They gave me a form to hand to a family member to sign to pay on a card and my next appointment is the 30th of Oct.
My question is this. I have just got a double entry Thai tourist visa, will they transfer that over to my new passport? All of the forms and documents they still have at the office building.
Cheers

sorry, one more question, i downloaded the form for on the website and i can't see where to mention that it is for a double entry, do i have to tell them at the office ?
And also, how long could i stay in thailand with double entry ? 6 month is possible (60 days visa + one month extension and do it again for second entry)?
Sorry for all these questions, but i never did it before. I read many thing on this website but it makes me confused
PS : I have to do that because i move in a city that has no school ...
lol no need for sorrys.. I did not even download the form and people rarely do. Right next to the consulate there is a stall that has a photoshopy machine for passports and also forms to fill out, they help too if you need it for free. I forgot now but somewhere near the top you need to tick tourist visa 60 days x2 .. multiple entry. They will help don't worry. It is such a lax consulate.
You get 60 days and then in the town you stay in Thai you can apply for a 30 day extension for 1,900 baht, then it the double entry you do the same process again. Hope this helps, the consulate in
Savannakhetis the best I have ever been to.. goodluck

Hello, very good and helpful post !!
I am in exactly the same situation also in Hua Hin
I have 2 questions :
- what did you do to cancel your ED visa ? does ambassy in Lao asked for any documents about cancellation ?
- I heard that i have to stay 3 days in Lao before apply for new visa, apparently that's not the case, can you confirm ?
Thanks again
Hey
Just go to your school and say you need to cancel your ED visa and they will make a form for you, check the passport number and your name on the form. take that plus 2 passport pics that is all. You do not need to stay in Laos for 3 days, just turn up on time at 8.30 at the consulate mon - fri )opens at 9) and then go back the next day to get your vis. Good luck

Room downstairs on the right are 500, 600 on the left and up the top 700

the pic of the beer-lao and the sandwitch, were was it taken?
That was at Lao Hose, I think I linked it in the OP. It is after the consulate on the right before the round about and before the Casio. Very good value service and atmosphere; actually I have been there every day since being here lol

And cheap Beer Lao too - got to love Laos!
Beer Lao over any commercial Thai beer any day! I have tried back and standard beer lao before, but first time I had seen the gold lao this time around. Still prefer the black though.
I do hope this thread helps others who need to do a visa run though because this was a breeze compared to what I have experienced in the past

Nice dinner along the Mekong.
The room make you want to hang yourself though, but the outside balcony is nice.
A bit cheap on the rice with Gen kiaw Wan. lol
lol what do you mean about the room, the price?? It was ok, I prefer the location. The bed was so comfortable and it is such a chilled and relaxed establishment. The rice for the geng was at the Lao House tourist attraction, was delicious though .. sep sep

Jesus I love that type of food and eating in a semi open place. Can't wait for the upcoming holiday
semi open place, you mean the hotel or the place I had the thai food? I love this hotel because it is so quiet and it is wooden, no concrete jungle style places. When do you plan to come here and have you been before? Best visa run I have ever done and I have been to malaysia, Ranong and Vientiane. I also have a few more pics, one sec... My all time fav dish ever since I came here 5 years ago, gang know wan

Thanks a lot you both. It occurred to me when I saw farmers spraying rice paddies the other day with plenty of chemicals
