Thanks, I've read misinformation on this in the past regarding use of the 800k for hospital bills invalidating the current extension, but looks like this is not the case. One other situation where proof of financials is needed is mid-year transfer of stamps to new passport, not sure if this is a new requirement. Also, does the Non O have to be cancelled at immigration - I've read mention about people making appointment for cancelling the O and getting the new PE stamp affixed on the same day?

The PE visa stamp will be affixed showing date of application, any existing permission to stay on the Non O is lost. Regarding getting the stamp affixed, I understand Thailand Elite facilitate this. However there's a number of days between payment and getting the new stamp. This leaves someone on a Non O extension of stay who uses the 800k deposit as payment for the Elite exposed and technically on overstay for perhaps a couple of weeks. Isn't it necessary to change visa class in order to use this money to pay for the new visa?

Turnaround is much less now, mine was 3½ weeks recently. You could probably apply around May. If you did keep the old passport beyond next July it's fine for everything out here, only restriction is no travel or transit allowed through an EU country.

I've waited as long as 6 weeks before to get the reply from Chaengwattana, though typical timescale would be 3-4 weeks using EMS both directions. No need to rush in.

Had a similar experience there transferring pp stamps and then getting a re-entry permit earlier in the month. Only one person waiting in L section, quick and efficient, but 60 people ahead of me in the re-entry permit queue, took the whole rest of the afternoon.

Looks like you booked direct with Etihad. When you checked in (assuming you've already travelled), were you asked to show the credit or debit card used to make the booking?

Did this at CW a couple of days ago. The girl on the information desk told me to copy every page, but it didn't feel necessary so I asked again in L section and they said just arrival stamp, non o visa page, and latest extension. When I went to the copy place downstairs turned out she was very familiar with knowing what was required and at locating these pages in the old passport for stamp transfer.

Is this also true for mailed in reports after a new passport? I'd been doing these for about 7 or 8 years, though always using the same passport. I never remember doing an in person visit to immigration for the 90 day, I'm sure I just started mailing them in.

After getting a new passport (stamps already been transferred at CW) is it required to make the next 90 day report in person? Previously reports have been done by mail and then online.
