  1. I am getting this news third hand, so it is difficult to know exactly what is going on.

Du has been in a small provincial prison for a few days, not the Bangkok Hilton.

I asked my wife again today if they need a hand and she said all is ok, and the money was ready to pay. I believe it was 12 months or 30000 baht, so he should be out soon. They are a close family and life will continue as normal.

  2. I can relate to the part in the OP about being cut off by motorbike riders when I am walking on the footpath. It happens all the time. The usual culprits are arrogant foreigners.

    Really?

And so there isnt any "arrogant" thai's that do this?

    Your showing your true color's!

Can you offer a less vacuous explanation for "showing your true color's"?

When was the last time you were in Udon

I'll start again, foreigners are the usual culprits.

  3. Are you doing vigorous exercise during eating this spicy food? That would make you red-faced. If you are not sure, I suggest you wear a heart rate monitor. If your heart rate is over 130 beats a minute, that would probably be sufficient to give you a red face.

Maybe I should not eat spicey food when standing on my head.

  4. Ok gents, he got caught smoking a joint and in possession (personal use only, as far as I know). He was away on a building job so there were no kids around. We don't know the full story, but this is as close as I can get.

I thought this was the sort of thing a quick few hundred baht to the guy in the brown shirt and all is well.

I'm guessing he ran out of opportunities to "assist" the man in the brown shirt. Du is no dill, but it seems he pushed the boundaries too far this time.

I could tell you some funny stories about him. Or better still, if you met him he is a real character.

I wish you'd give us something to work with Sipi......talk about a drip feed thread.

Making up,the details can be funny.

Soon the CSU TVF db's will be along to turn this entire affair into a conspiracy....maybe one day there will be a movie made about it. I hope I get to play the part of the father.

You want to play the part of the father.

Here is a photo of him with my son taken a few years ago.

  5. I don't know the exact water heater, but most have an inbuilt filter. We had the same problem with our shower and the filter was blocked. It is located on the valve going to the water heater and simply needs to be removed with a half turn. It is quite small but easy to find and clean.

I am not saying this is the source of your problem, but it would be my first and cheapest choice.

Thank you. Brand new. Checked and tried without filter; pressure seemed the same. Thanks.

Good news. The filter will need to be cleaned and re-installed. Otherwise the shower-head holes will block, and they are harder to clean.

I got caught the same way.

  6. Sounds like probably you have rosacea and peppers are a trigger. Very common with white people. A knowledgeable dermatologist can help but she will probably tell you to avoid all known triggers (no fun!) as well as maybe suggest topical skin medication. You probably have other triggers as well.

If it is rosacea then the blood pressure issue is separate.

Many older people have MULTIPLE issues.

    Join the club!

Yes I "googled rosacea" before annoying everyone here. And it seemed to be the one. Alcohol does it occasionally. I have heard that "beta blockers" (which are readily available over the counter in Thailand as "Metropol Titrate") might help? Sometimes it just happens for fun, no idea what the 'trigger'is. But it becoming more prevalent from eating spicy food.

I have regular blood tests which come back clear.

  7. Maybe this is the guy responsible for upsetting Costas so much. Maybe this guy got into Costas badgers or something. Hang him high. tongue.png

heard another guy upset our badger friend a bit-he even "blocked"him:whistling:

    dam'n x-mas

    No I didn't.

How can I block my hero?

Yes, I want to spank him.......but that will come later.

May be some milking will calm him down?whistling.gif

Ok Costas. Where were you 6 hours ago? I needed someone with a sense of humour and English skills. I don't qualify.

Yeah.......you are an Aussie........I can understand.

Now go and have a soapy that you pretend you don't know much about.....and make sure they rub it hard for you.

And don't forget to take David with you.........poor guy.....far away in a strange land and hasn't seen the g/f for looooooong time:(

I should have added "with computer skills".

Please don't mention "David" and "Soapy" in the same sentence. I don't need to picture that.

Sipi, if you want somebody with computer skills.........I'm your man.

After more than a month still can't manage to operate that f$$$en phone I got..................

As for the computer, I'm an expert on hitting the buttons on the keyboard.......took me half an hour to write this.

It took you half an hour to get it right.

It took me an hour to mess mine up.

  8. I'm thinking the OP has lived a very sheltered life, or this post is pretty much the definition of a 'troll post'. I'm leaning toward the later.

However, even if it's a troll, I think even the mods are mildly amused enough to let it ride.

So here's my hint for the OP:

A regular Thai massage: 200 baht

    An oil massage: 300 baht

An oil massage with a 'happy-ending': 800 baht

A soapy massage in BKK: 2,500+ baht

Now, apply some analytical skills to the above information and I'm sure you'll get the drift thumbsup.gif

800 baht for a "happy ending"?

Geez, when she said "I'll screw you" I didn't think she meant financially.

  9. Being married long term to a lady from the NE, I have always enjoyed spicy food; and have been quite tolerant of it.

But I have noticed (and so has the wife) that lately, whenever I eat even mildly spicy food, my face glows bright red. It seems unfortunately I just can't do it any more.

I am 50 years old, slightly overweight and starting to show signs of mild hyper-tension.

Is this the end of Issan food for me?

This thread is like a conversation with my 86 year old Mother.

Conversation goes like this......."Mum" the man will come Friday to fix it, he said thats what caused the problem

"Me" what man what problem??? dunno what shes on about as usual. In her mind she has told me all about "whatever" it was.

Is SIPI 86 years old as I can make an allowance for this?

Did I mention the plumber yet? I can't remember..

    .

I'm not sure how I can complicate it. Guy gets caught smoking dope and sent to jail. Wife tell him to suffer it out for a bit. How do I complicate that? Can you help.
