  1. I doubt that Prawit can stay awake, long enough to get this PM position. There is a time when the old people should just fully retire, Prawit is included in this category. IMO
  2. My bet is that no one else will trust using carbon fibre for another mini sub like the Titan was. I am hopeful that there is a bit more intelligence in the world.
  3. Hey Tim, I used to say Mary Jane for the big M word, back in the 70s, as it was accepted as meaning the merry weed. Harvey M
  4. I see a few woke posters on this article. If climate change is caused by the el nino, that is occurring this year, okay. Global warming may also be the cause, or just maybe it is plankton season again. So will the soi dogs eat those dead fish? Just wondering.
  5. No sympathy for this woman, she should face the guillotine, then if anyone need some body parts they are not damaged as an injection would for sure ruin the chance to use them. I wished more countries would still have the death penalty. Canada needs to bring it back as well. Harvey
  6. Economic migrants, by the looks of that picture.
  7. I am glad that I do not have shares in Ocean Gate company. This mini sub did not get certified and should not have been allowed to have any passengers. The carbon fiber main section would likely been a sticking point for certification. Most subs and mini subs are steel or titanium structures to keep intact. The CEO risked not only his life, but 4 other people made the fatal decision to pay a lot of money to get into this sub and go so far below the surface of the ocean. RIP to them all.
  8. It sounds like they died quickly. If they were very deep there will not be anything of them to recover. The end parts could be recovered, but for what purpose? Most of the certified mini subs were certified and people were not bolted in. With multiple dives it would seem that the pressure hull did not take the extreme pressure. My 2 cents worth.
  9. Well at least 4 of the 5 on board were very rich people. Either it got caught up on something, or had a pressure failure, it should have been able to re surface. The news I heard on TV said the ballast could be jettisoned to let the vehicle resurface. I guess we will know more in the next few days as the news media get more pictures of this submersible and how it operates. It does look like there would be a pilot on board to operate the vessel. The big worry is that it got snagged, or had a mechanical failure.
  10. Message for TAT It is low season, wake up, quit being greedy. Thailand always has low season this time of year. I just hope the air fares drop a bit for high season in October to April. Where I stay, the guest house rates are still pretty good.
  11. I wonder who this guy's idol is, the Donald? Happy to see the girls wise choice.
  12. Tim, I am with you in being confused as to why Canada needs to be an ASEAN partner. Justin Trudeau, the PM loves to travel abroad on the Canadian tax dollars, he is almost as bad as Trump in liking his photo ops. Harvey M
  13. Just a theory, but when I see a person with dead eyes, I think that they have lost their soul. After all what is the soul, and can you see it? That is my thoughts. Killers have no soul. Harvey
  14. Kicking the door lead to Kicking the bucket?
  15. BKK has bad enough pollutions some days that a mask is a good thing to wear. In parts of Canada and the USA there are forest fires which send lots of smoke and small particles all over, another good reason to wear a mask. However like most places in the world there are people who will not wear a mask, so be it. If you want to enjoy Thailand with its pollution just do it, your choice.
  16. Since I have been in my 70s I have slowed down my drinking. I do not drink hard liqeur except on a special occasion. I drink less beer, and hardly drink wine at all. I guess I am entering the Golden years, as other things seem to cost more of my gold. Thailand has a lot of tourists most times of the year and it has always affected their visits. Most travelers like to have a few drinks as the do not have to be sober the next day, due to their work. It would be good news to see a more liberal situation exist. Harvey
  17. Rip tides are very dangerous, sadly this teen found out the hard way. RIP
  18. There is one day for Mothers day, One day for Fathers day, one day for Veteran day, one day for Queen Victoria day. July 1st for Canada day, July 4th for America's day, one day for Christmas and one day for New Years day, so why does the Pride community get a whole month? Why not Pride day? Just asking.
  19. Yes ICBMs are a bit hard to hit, so a war would be a loss for everybody. I do hope that the world leaders remember this every day.
  20. Okay the 2Spitirs I get, not sure of the IAAP or the +, guess I am getting too old
  21. At least Thailand does not have a carbon tax. Thankfully.
  22. I would suspect that this thief is now a former employee.
  23. I would rather see this killer in a Thai prison than a comfy Canadian prison.. Less TVs and other comfort items in the Thai prisons. Harvey
  24. Looks like enough rooms for Putin and his security gang. He will certainly need well trained security in the future. Drone.
  25. Why do people still wear jewelry when travelling to Thailand? Thailand is a casual dress country, too hot to be strutting about like some peacock with all the jewelry. In My Opinion anyway. Harvey
