Wagner boss says he will pull troops out of Bakhmut
Stargeezr replied to Rimmer's topic in World News
Both this guy, Putin and Trump seem to tell the same amount of truthful stuff. Well in my opinion anyway. -
So the USA is still a dangerous place to visit. There is the Mexican American, and this incident, and how many others will happen in May? Top country for mass killings is not where I would like to live. Those thoughts and prayers that get offered, are wearing thin. Maybe the NRA folks should take a bit of the blame. IMO

Electric Vehicle Registrations Increase for 3rd Consecutive Month
Stargeezr replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I was told by an ex Tesla owner. 8000 dollars for 4 new tires. He paid 1200 dollars to replace a rear light assembly. After 2 years he had shorter battery range, and had to travel at times with no heat, and no cooling just to make the destination. He now drives a hybrid vehicle. EV tech is not the answer unless the owner is only driving around the city, and has a second vehicle to go over 500 miles or 800 kms. per day. Harvey -
Thai woman arrested for allegedly killing 5 with cyanide

Would this many deaths call for a death sentence for the murderer? -
Thai man fined and sentenced to prison over craft beer review
Stargeezr replied to snoop1130's topic in Central Thailand News
I do remember the green Chang beer dresses, but I still prefer Singha beer, so am waiting for some of that company's pretty dress wearers. I guess us Foreign visitors should just drink the beer we like the best and not get too critical. -
Elderly Swedish man attempts to smuggle 3kg of heroin into Thailand

Senior Swiss spends last of his days in Thailand Jail. Is that how the head line should read? Maybe he will spend some time in Thailand, then the rest back in his home country. -
Thailand is hot, and the rainy season has not done anything to cool the country down. This time of year is Spring in the northern half of the world and most people are enjoying the last of cool and coldish weather. Hence it is the low tourist season. Besides with all the crop burning happening, most tourists do not enjoy the high levels of pollution. Just to remind some posters, why some of us only travel to the Tropical countries, when it is last Fall, October until Winter is over which is about April for most of Canada. earlies for those lucky Americans.

Transwoman fined for dancing naked on Bang Saen Beach
Stargeezr replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Well this woman, with the exposed parts to prove such, will likely enjoy some time in a police station. Trans in my opinion, is a man who dresses like a woman, and wants to get woman perks. In Thailand a lady boy is equivalent to a trans until all the operations are done, then is a woman who cannot have children. The rest of the 2plus, LGBTQ are life choices. Male and female are still around as well. Normal is also still around, just not talked about, and we do not have a flag or any special time of the year for our special holiday or such. Harvey -
Arcturus is a star and should remain that way. I disagree with the COVID gang using star names for their disease. Harvey

Thailand Reports World's First Death From New Covid Variant Arcturus
Stargeezr replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Why Arcturus? I think of Arcturus as a space term, and not some disease. Drats I say. -
Hua Hin Airport in political limbo until after the Thai election
Stargeezr replied to george's topic in Thailand News
I may not be correct, but I thought that an International airport requires two runways. It is a safety issue, incase there is an accident that closes one of the runways. -
Homeowner Kills 20-Year-Old Woman After Her Vehicle Pulled Into His Driveway
Stargeezr replied to Scott's topic in World News
USA land of NRA. This country has been dangerous for years, and it will not change in our life time. Maybe if they can get a president who is younger than 70 and does not have a lot of baggage like the current leader and the past leader have. Time will tell. -
Severe thunderstorm devastates Mor Lam stage in NE Thailand

Mother nature One, puny Human structures Zero. I believe that the earth is warming itself up again and us humans will not be able to stop that progress. Harvey -
Lately I have not bought a lot of things made in China. I even bought a frying pan made from Vietnam, even though it was a bit more pricey. Not a big fan of Chinese support of Russia, so am boycotting as much as possible.

Rooster, I am glad you survived your water treatment at Songkran. I will never be in Thailand for Songkran again, as even years ago, I seen people with 2 inch fire hoses spraying water at people in Phuket, at an intersection in Karen Beach. A business man was knocked right off his bike, and all the drunks just laughed at him, and picked up his bike, and sent him on his way even though he was totally soaked and would have to go back to change his clothes. That was the last time I wanted to have anything to do with Songkran. Oh and Happy Thai New year, it seems.

Smart visitors pack a flash light if they are going out at night. I always have a good flash light when I go to Thailand. I have used it many times and have avoided holes in the sidewalks, slippery steps, and even a couple of snakes. Thailand is not the country to go if you are naive, it is quite dangerous. In my opinion anyway.
