    Lolz!

Thailand: The only country in the world where paying for a BJ is just as easy as buying a pack of chewing gum at the corner 7-11, but you're not allowed to visit pornhub.com. ????

Could always be like Japan where porn is allowed but only with the body parts that make it porn in the first place fuzzed out, (so i've been told)

In other news King Canute is heading down to the sea to try to stop the tide coming in...

Not a good example Canute wanted to prove to his adoring followers he was not a god and prove it by not being able to stop the tide coming in, Anutin is trying to prove he is a God!

  3. To realise the full horrors of people trafficking (women in this case) read "Slave Girl" by Sarah Forsyth it brings home the full horrors of this lucrative trade, i hope Thailand does the right thing in this case, but as others have said a big chunk of money can make it vanish, shame really this is going on right now, all over the world with no end in sight!

Clickbait headline from the Daily Express (4/9), at least I hope it's clickbait, but one never knows with these bozos:

"Pensioners to pay National Insurance! Shock tax move to fund social care bills".

Out of curiosity, I looked up the current standard rate - 12% on monthly income £737 - £4,189, 2% thereafter.

As context, there does seem to be some political debate re raising NI to fund social care, in particular fixing the "selling one's house" issue - something the Conservatives pledged to remedy. Nothing decided yet in so far as I'm aware. It's controversial in that it hits lower paid workers disproportionately, and raising NI is also contrary to the Conservative manifesto. Boris is caught between a rock and a hard place on this one.

Would'nt bother Bozo he would just make up another lie, then carry on as normal!

    Good luck with it.

I never understand why and how the UK people put up with it.

Just a terrible system screwing over pensioners.  What ever happened to all the money?

The UK has the worst state pension in the developed world- in 2016 it was only worth 29% of average income. It is striking how much less that is than other countries: the EU average is 70.5% meaning that UK pensions receive more than two times less than comparable countries

Whenever i have seen this blatant theft mentioned in the UK press most of the comments ( mainly women) think that frozen pensions are completely in order, and we should never get any increase as if we are some kind of traitor for leaving the UK!

I tried to register in Pattaya -- I'm over 60 and asthmatic.

Was told a stern "No - only for Thais"

My Thai wife was able to registe - although no date could be given.

So impossible to even register in Pattaya, let alone actually get a vaccine.

But that could change whenever the big private hospitals get their own supplies...

Yes hope it changes in your favour, i did not notice any other farrangs in the long queue when i got mine, at the Central Plaza Pattaya it was organised through Bangkok Hospital Pattaya, where my wife's niece is a doctor so maybe she pulled a couple strings i don't know, but it all went through the usual channels Mor Pha form etc.

    or whatever it's called!

I assume you registered with Mor Phrom before. Most high risk expats here do NOT have pink cards! We have PASSPORTS.

I mentioned pink card because that is what i used the whole time, they were copying the numbers from the card throughout each process that is temp. blood pressure etc., before the actual jab, without the card i have no idea!

The Sinojunk is bottom of the barrel, very low quality stuff, with a very questionable efficacy rate. I would not take it, and it appears the majority of Thais do not want it. It almost seems to be used here, as a show of disrespect to the people, by this hapless administration. We will not spend real money on you. You are not worth it.

If I were a gambling man, I would bet the farm that none of the officials here took the Sinojunk.

As far as i remember Anutin (sp.) had the sinovac!

As a retired UK Chartered Accountant having lived in Thailand over 12 yrs, I comment as follows

Pensions received in thailand are not taxable in Thailand

Pensions paid to people living here are not eligible for the annual increase

As regards the UK whether resident there or not, all income including pensions, dividends, interest, rental income etc,  above the tax free allowance is subject to tax generally being deducted by the UK Pensions office, and other pension companies paying from the UK at source

Thailand generally is a very tax friendly country to retired people

Five years ago I agreed with no assets in the UK, and my pension below the personal allowance, I no longer have to file any tax returns unless my position changes

Maybe you can answer my query then, as you seem quite knowledgeable, pensions from DWP are taxed at source, but what i've read on TVF is the tax deducted assumes you get the yearly increase paltry that it might be, but would mount up after a few years in LOS, would you know if this is true, ie are you taxed as though you have received the annual increases?

Just to try and clarify I receive a local pension LPFA which does get the yearly increase, as well as the DWP pension!

  10. May as well add my two penn orth, i got the first AZ jab yesterday (was arranged two days before, being Farrang. Thais apparently can just show up and get in line) at Central Plaza Pattaya AZ or Sino option quite a long queue but moved pretty fast, got there 12 pm got the jab 12.58, I am 82 high risk group married to a Thai the pink card was used at all the checking desks, blood pressure, temperature, etc. ,very efficient throughout organised by the Bangkok Hospital Pattaya, second jab booked for 27th Sept, i don't know if this a one day effort or everyday till the vacs run out, FWIW!
