Predictably insulting. You can't help yourself, can you?

But you may have provided some ideas.

Again, I don't have a Thai ID. I assume most retired expats don't have a Thai ID.

There are many people in my situation, so people doing a superior dance, I'm a good expat / you're a bad expat show is completely UNHELPFUL.

    Responding to your points:

The app does not accept passport numbers, so I and many other expats can't use the app.

Maybe soon it will. We can hope.

Your point of contacting a private hospital is NOT CLEAR. You said explicitly that you were told by mail that you can register the same as Thai people. AGAIN, you need a Thai ID to do that. So what would be the point of contacting Bangkok Pattaya hospital to be told to sign up like Thai people, as I and many others, can't? Or were you trying to suggest something else. If so, maybe you could tell us.

Can you point to a specific video on that FB page that addresses how to MANUALLY sign up for the program as an expat with only a passport number?

Also as I made clear in my OP, looking for PATTAYA specific information which I suspect is not really available yet as so much of this is new.  Such as which hospital to go to, how to contact them if you only have a passport number, etc. etc.

For example if someone walked into the Soi Buakow hospital tomorrow and asked to register with their passport, would that work or not NOW, or is this something we need to wait for until the local Thais get their act more gelled on how to deal with us (or not).

Exactly, my Thai wife tried to sign me up yesterday 1st May online at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya with my pink id card the same as she and her sisters had done, can't do got to wait for Thais to get the jabs first so Swiss1960? is talking rubbish and talking down other farrangs from his high horse, as you say predicable bs for one who has supposedly holds Thai I/D!    From another whiner

Have you been in the USA? Most service establishments pay minimum wage or less. Tipping 10 -20% is expected practice. It's a significant part of income. Even hotel room cleaners expect something.

True, it's not mandatory. But as a waiter there once said to me, if you don't leave a tip, don't come back. Because it's very likely if they remember, nasty things will happen.

Yep, there is even a little table printed on the bottom of the bill with percentage rates worked out for you ie. 10,20,25,.30 etc. of your bill, so nice of them, seems crazy to me, but apparently tips are a part of their wages you are paying for, or so i've been told!

Don't forget, Canute failed in his bid ????

Canute did not fail, he was proving he was not a god to the people that believed he was, by saying if i'm a god i will stop the tide coming in which he could'nt do so proved he was a normal being, or so the tale goes, but i think Uncle Tuu will fail just like he did when gave an order to stop the burning in the north a couple of years back, now probably worse than ever!

It will go on for many more years to come until govt UK pensions are no more, being realistic.

Strangely enough it was one thing i liked Corbin for he said it was blatant theft and should be stopped and corrected, of course what he would have done given the power we'll never know!

Just hilarious you are. Would you like nothing but serious answers and no comic relief.  Try again Sir. All variants mutate again and again, but if you never test randomly you will never find it unless someone goes to a hospital for a test because they feel ill, by then it has taken a footing somewhere and you end up playing catch up instead of being ahead of the issue. Wouldn't you agree?

"Yes.  It's the lowest form of wit." people use this Oscar Wilde saying but never use the rest of the quote "Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit and highest form of intelligence" which puts a totally different light on the saying FWIW!

I have to ask here as the poster(left) posted the following a few days ago and now appears to dodge any questioning, would anyone know the apparent circumstances for its refusal for further correspondence?

"This topic is about  DWP state pension, payable from age 65 onwards in the past and somewhat later these days.

On the claim form one enters the address, and if living in Thailand your state pension is frozen."

"Some people will apply with a UK address with payment to a UK bank, and as such no life certificates are sent out. You will also receive annual increases...................BUT that is illegal, and if you are found out, as some are, there are consequences, one of which being that you will have to repay all the extra money received!"

    More importantly is he correct?

I was found out 10 months later through i think returned mail from my old address, they were very very nice about the fact i was living in Thailand informing me my pension would be frozen at the time i arrived in Thailand my pension was then reset to that time (there had been one increase by DWP) they did not ask or take back any of the extra money i had received just reset my pension payments, maybe if i been claiming the extra money over a longer period the outcome may have been different, but that was my experience FWIW!

I just did my annual marriage extension, this time they didn't want the house book photocopies anymore, so they took them out and I adjusted my list of what to do for the annual extension, e.g. deleted the house book photocpies.

The time before they asked for the Kor Ror 2, never before in 3 years, but everyone told me after that it has always been the case, so I took note, something to add to the list, updated Kor Ror 2, we went to the local Amphur and just made it before they were closing, if they closed, we would have to come back on Monday as we live 1 and a half hours away from immigration, we also just made it back there as well, it was frustrating as we didn't know where the Amphur there was.

I do what I can best to have my paperwork up to date and in order, but not once has it, there is always something different.

I am surprised you are getting a 3rd visit, I have only ever had one, that was 4 years ago, maybe because we live so far from them, either way, I remember the 1,500 baht we had to give them for petrol money....lol

You, I and everyone else knows that the system could be simplified much easier, for example, no 90 day reporting to immigration, annual marriage extension to be as follows:

    1) Copy of front page of passport and TM6 entry card

    2) Bank letter confirming funds of 400,000 baht in account 3 months prior or pension method with 12 months worth of statements

    3) Recent photos of self

    4) Copy of wife's ID card

    5) Updated Kor Ror 2

    6) Pay fee

End of story as they have everything already, so no need to repeat, but then again, their computer systems are probably not up to being able to handle us having personal files.

I think the visit is on account of Sattahip where we are being close to the IO at Jpmtien just my opinion of course!

Not a marriage certificate. It was the Kor Ror 2.

Document from amphur that shows that you are still married.

Has to be new every year.

OK, thanks for reply, all i was really trying to say was it was something they had never asked for before, as was the form in Thai that wife filled in stating monthly pension received even after showing bank letter for proof of 400,000bht, so a couple of more things to remember next time!

It was the girl who normally sits at the back (the normal officer was quite busy who does the checking) and takes the photo that asked for the update after checking paperwork she also said as you say a lot of fallangs are saying they are married when they are not!

  10. This was my experience with my wife (running the show) yesterday 22/02, got to bank at 9.15 am waited one and a half hrs. in bank to get up to date 400.000 bht in bank proof (delay was caused by many people collecting the government hand out people were queued up outside being Monday did'nt help) went on to IO office all forms done exactly as six years before, and got rejected, needed marriage certificate updated, so onto government office to get certificate updated only to find it was closed for lunch, so onto another branch of KunThai bank to get another proof of 400,000 in bank (as first was apparently wrong and not acceptable) this bank not so crowded only took 45min. then back to government office which was now open to get marriage certificate up dated, then back again to IO this time everything seemed OK only difference being wife had to fill in a form all in Thai, one question asked was how much pension i received per month in BHT even with proof of 400,000 in bank have never seen this form before!

A hectic day, now await a phone call for home visit by emigration staff this will be a third visit by them!

When i was in the UK the doctors prescribed Quinine Bi- sulphate which i took for many years before bedtime it kept the cramps away, but apparently this medicine is not legal here in Thailand, now after a minor stroke i stopped drinking beer which was causing de-hydration and started doing serious calf muscle stretching exercises which holds back the cramps which i had had for many years, serious painful cramp at that sometimes in both legs at the same time, so to sum it up in my case it was de-hydration and lack of the above calf muscle exercises and drinking plenty of water, which i had never done before,  now i take no other drugs at all and seldom get any serious cramps!

There is no political will on this issue, certainly not among those that have any say.

On the 13th May last year there was an EDM tabled in the House and it was only signed by 21 MPs, 12 of whom were from the SNP, of the other 9, 4 were devolved nations and 5 from England.

Sad state of affairs when so little attention is paid to blatant discrimination.

    https://edm.parliament.uk/early-day-motion/56968/uk-veterans-and-frozen-pensions

Yes true no political will, when i have seen anything in the UK press about frozen pensions nearly all the comments mainly women are in complete agreement that we should not get any increases at all, i even feel they think we should not even get a pension living abroad just my opinion of course, they probably don't know or care that some pensioners do get the increases depending on where they choose to retire, until the general public come out on our side the government will not be persuaded to correct this injustice/thievery and since it is rarely brought up in the MSM it's not likely to change sadly!

So what is the chances of him going to jail in the future? If he was on a normal PMs salary, how could he get anywhere near billions?

I did read when he was questioned about his 2 billion he said he inherited it from his father when he was a boy, also read by another poster on here that says he is now worth 5 billion apparently from Wiki (sp) but i cannot find anything to verify that figure, but would'nt be surprised if that's not true, as for going to jail did'nt he give himself a total amnesty from such inconveniences!
