You do realize that a 10 year LTR visa is cheaper then obtaining 10 years of a Non Imm O visa or OA visa right? Plus you don't need to keep money in a Thai bank as well as you obtain a multi re-entry permit......no sicker parting with there money here. Move along....your obviously upset you can not obtain one....

Your wildly misinformed Sir. No hassles at all and your annual report date does not change if your in the country....no extra money required. If you travel in and out that one year reporting date changes just like a 90 day would. No running back and forth, clear and straight forward with BOI being a charm to work with. The LTR visa assures no taxes are collected in your pension remitted to Thailand either, or any monies from previous years.

No issues, and no hassles at all. Your Income is also not taxable with an LTR-P visa. All above board and nothing hidden. In the grand scheme of things, if you travel back and forth living here half time or whatever, it's still cheaper than obtaining a Non "O" or "OA" visa over a ten year period. Easy to file the annual report as well, instead of doing 90 days, but if you travel in and out an annual report to immigration will never truly be needed. No extra fees either

To this I agree 100% and is why like I stated I do not believe corruption, which is endemic, will never dissappear. -
Seems you have an axe to grind with all officials in Thailand. I agree corruption is endemic, but nothing we can do will ever solve it.

However, The Seven Nations (Hebrew: שבעת העמים, romanized: Shivat Ha'amim) are seven nations that according to the Hebrew Bible lived in the Land of Canaan prior to the arrival of the Israelites. God instructed the Israelites to destroy these seven nations upon entering Canaan. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_Nations_(Bible)#:~:text=The Seven Nations (Hebrew%3A שבעת,seven nations upon entering Canaan. -

Correct, as most don't like to be confrontational and just want everything to be easy. FACE has no place in Thailand anymore......but then that's my view -

Not discriminatory in any way shape or form. If you believe it's discriminatory then you need to look at other visas which have requirements others do not. Case in point is the OA visa or extension of stay which requires a retiree to maintain health Insurance with a company from inside thailand, on a HI list, and show this proof annually, whereas a person on an O visa or extension of stay does not have to show this requirement. Many different classes of Visas and many different requirements such as showing 400k in the bank vs. 800k in the bank. My view with people who yell discrimination is that they have an axe to grind because they don't qualify to obtain said visa. The tax Exemption was a selling point for me as well as all the other add on, such as only reporting once a year, multi re-entry permit and not having to renew for 5 years to show I still qualified.

You anti masker, anti-vaccine folks amaze me.....your type definitely win the Darwin award.... -
Your view of the LTR visa being canceled will never see the light of day. A BOI LTR visa was a well thought out plan as it included many facets which work well for those of us who qualify. The tax Exemption was just icing on the cake for us. Do you have an LTR visa or are you just one of many who don't and have an axe to grind?
