  1. Stranded, but I thought the Russians had been all classed as refugee's while the Ukrainian folks were escaping getting bombed. Just make up some camps like they have the Myanmar folks living in along the border.......Russian refugee camps.
  2. They were caught with the wrong colored envelopes. This is an annual occurrence as well as those taking Teaching exams where they have others sit the exam for them for a few baht..well its more than a few.
  3. But under the new laws promulgated by the Chan Ocha led government only Thais can be tour guides and even whats worse only Thais can cut your hair.....
  4. Ouch, and will this obviously be appealed first.....
  5. Ergo why the posted 20% the OP is saying were unaffected is definitely not from a true composite and canvassing of the population.
  6. Seems to be a daily battle in Thailands Game of Thrones, where every commander anywhere does what they want and do not listen to the tip of the spear....
  7. Most of the US charges a city or county tax on the hotels and its not just tourists who are charged the transient tax rates, it's everyone renting a hotel or motel...
  8. Not unless they come in and inspect the entire premises, and then confirm there are no over due bills for the water, power etc..... It usually takes a little while, and most time they will deduct some of the monies for a deep cleaning prior to re-renting it out. It was only a few thousand baht in my experience. Some folks have never had it returned. Some use it as the last months rent and bounce.
  9. Must have been picked up by the Police VIP folks and van from the airplane itself, then escorted to her place of holiday like the Chinese gal did as well as many others.....this time somene forgot to stamp the passport...... or maybe she was stuffed in a suitcase and brought in......
  10. We can agree to disagree on TAT one........pun intended.
  11. How do they personally know that 20% did not have Covid? Did they ask everyone in the country to identify themselves as possibly having Covid but did not report to the hospital or a clinic and instead just stayed home and weathered the virus out. I know from my own personal experience and then having contact with others who had covid, we never called or visited a hospital or sought treatment, but instead stayed home until we tested negative by using the self testing RAT tests.
  12. Rocketing Backwards slowly into the low season? but then you don't like my views on tourism as I am always wrong....
  13. Reminds me of the battle of the two Knights skit that Monty Pyton did. One Knight looses an arm, then another, then a leg, then the other legs, but keeps denying he's been beaten. Much like the MAGA crowd and Trump.
  14. Lol, so no one else can post, as usual you have lost the plot of a forum. PM him if you want his thoughts with no one else using your post...
  15. Even his own lawyer says this, and he used the term Rhetoric as well as He couldnt say much as he wasn't a Trump PR person...tell me now who else is back peddling.....So in his view only a PR person could defend or condemn the post.......back peddling rapidly. To take it one step further and from what others are saying: As many legal experts pointed out over the weekend, threatening a prosecutor is a crime in New York. Trump Lawyer Admits His Client's Threatening Baseball Bat Post Was A Bad Call | HuffPost Latest News “I’m not his social media consultant,” Tacopina said. “I think that was an ill-advised post that one of his social media people put up, and he quickly took down when he realized the rhetoric and the photo that was attached to it.” “I’m not going to defend or, or condemn anything regarding social media,” Tacopina continued. “I’m not a Trump PR person.”
  16. Another one who does not read the forum entirely before realizing that I have corrected my post....as usual is your trait.
  17. Did you bother to see I corrected my mistake, or you just needed to pile on, back onto ignore you go....lol
  18. Absolutely correct, my mistake as I was thinking it was the small little side street in Soi Cowboy which goes no where, Soi 22 is what I know as Soi Sai Nam Thip
  19. It is not elevated at all, but running the same as the current tracks which near us are the same height as the roadway. That is why they are putting in these U-Turn overcrossings and blocking off the roadway crossing the tracks.
  20. Guess my children's 1/8th Cherokee bloodline they have from their mothers side is not enough to counter balance the Russian, Italian, German, Irish, Jewish bloodline that I have installed in their genes. It was not enough to get them registered with the Tribe as the tribe required genealogic proof of at least 1/4 bloodline........
  21. Makes it all part of the enjoyment of living life and remembering the old days since I am retired. The trains are almost as I remember them from my youth being born here in Bangkok and living here until I was almost 6 before we returned to the US where I started elementary school.....
  22. Soi 22 is in the middle of Soi Cowboy which lies between Asoke and Soi 23, Soi 23 being the soi that is at the very end of Soi Cowboy. Many Foreigners live in the condos on Soi 23.
  23. So violating laws and rules is OK since there dropping coin to the locals...what planet are you on.
  24. You still pay tax on your properties be it the land or the improvements on the land.
