It would be a 14 hour round trip by vehicle so it is a doable trip for someone. Last time I went through Mae Sot I was coming from Saraburi. Took 6 hours up, 1 hour through and back with a new 60 day stamp on my Non imm O Visa ME lunch, and then back to Saraburi by late evening.......day trip. Of course that was in 2017.

Thai passports expired

Yes, I just looked it up or 17 if married......It does cause an issue for some. Since she will be in College the next time it expires she will just have to do it through the Thai Embassy in Washington DC or the Thai Consulate in Los Angeles. -
Thai passports expired
ThailandRyan replied to RasiMike's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Should have no problems arriving and entering on the expired Thai passport, my Thai born US citizen daughter arrived in December for the holiday, she is now 14, and instead of entering on her US passport she went through the Thai gates. The gate she used beeped and would not let her through and so one of the I/O's walked over to see what was up. She showed the passport, it had expired in November, and she was waved through and told to get a new one pronto. She was taken to the passport office near my condo, which is in the Khlong Toey MRT station, where the paperwork was done and within 5 days she had the new passport. I thought Thailand was going to start issuing 10 year passports but apparently not, maybe because she is just 14. She flies alone back and forth now to visit her grandparents here and myself when she drops into BKK. -
If you can't afford 100 baht for a few days stay then you are cheap.
-
I always give the room attendant who cleans and makes the bed in our hotel room a 100 baht tip, this ensures we get the best service, extra shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, coffee/creamer/sugars and extra water bottles without asking. It doesn't matter if we stay at a 3 star or 5 star resort. Of course the GF at one time in her life worked as a housekeeper/cleaner, so she knows how to take care of the people who take care of you....stop being a cheap charlie, what are you a begpacker....

Drove up to the Singkhon Border cross with Myanmar today (15km west of PKK) to do some shopping at the Border market. A few folks who live around us used to do a border bounce there and shop as well, Yet, the border cross is still pretty much closed for all foreigners and the Border market reflects that, as only about 10% of it is up and running. Sad to see a once thriving and great market area destroyed by the border being closed for travel in and out. The only vehicle we saw coming in was a Thai Commercial truck with what might have been seafood loaded. We did buy a nice hand carved wooden eagle though at a very reasonable price. Here is an older article that was updated with one sentence indicating the closure for foreigners is still in effect. http://www.prachuap-khiri-khan.com/Myanmar-Thailand-border-Singhorn-Pass.php Updated today the 5th. But at the moment the border is still closed for Farangs. When the border cross does open for tourism it is a great route over the hill to Mergui and the coast at Myeik.

Kanchanaburi - River Khae for 3 or 4 nights
ThailandRyan replied to grain's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
Staying on the River Kwai in a floating raft resort will not allow you to go into town unfortunately as you take a boat out to the resorts and it is a ways out to the boat ramp. However, If you stayed in Kanchanaburi you could stay near the Bridge over the River Kwai, see the war museum, the cemetery and the historic location across the bridge if you wish to see that. Really not much to do in town. We stayed here for 2 days, not a bad location as your right near the bridge and the price is right. https://www.riverkwaibridgeresort.com/?set_lang=en We also stayed here on another trip, and you have a view of the river and Bridge. https://www.riverkwaiview.com/ Look at Booking .com for assistance https://www.booking.com/searchresults.en-us.html?ss=Kanchanaburi+City&ssne=Kanchanaburi+City&ssne_untouched=Kanchanaburi+City&highlighted_hotels=5725934&efdco=1&label=duc511jc-1DCAso3QFCG3RoZS1yaXZlcmt3YWktYnJpZGdlLXJlc29ydEgzWANopwKIAQGYATG4ARfIAQzYAQPoAQH4AQKIAgGoAgO4AtP__Z4GwAIB0gIkMGZjZjM3MDYtZWFmOC00YTkyLWFiYjMtMDcyODdiMTExYmRh2AIE4AIB&sid=24de11237ae2cadb2f5e781aae65b7f0&aid=390156&lang=en-us&sb=1&src_elem=sb&src=searchresults&dest_id=-3248677&dest_type=city&checkin=2023-02-27&checkout=2023-02-28&group_adults=2&no_rooms=1&group_children=0&sb_travel_purpose=leisure -

It's not your OP to be requested closed......so short sighted. Many different bike styles out there, and what may fit one person might not be what fits another. I rode an ADV 160 in Phuket it's not for me, but then I have an X-Max 300 which is. I tried the bigger BMW C400X scooter as well, nice bike but to pricey.

Who says you can not have a lawn, a garden, fruit trees etc...in a gated community. We have all of that plus our own pool and each house in the gated community does as well All also have walls and gates for the driveway. We have a community pool which only those without the pools use, and sure we pay a CAM fee which includes the security, gardeners, and pool cleaners, but there are no animals allowed in the community so its pretty quiet. Most of us also have CCTV systems so if we are gone we can monitor who may enter the property. To me I find the gated community we live in very nice. It is like a senior gated retirement community back in the west, most folks here are westerners, Europeans, and a few from Japan and Malaysia. It is run by a property management company which has been in business for 25 years, and is also a property developer and real-estate company. Yet it is not in Pattaya like the OP wants but in PKK.

Went to a doctors appointment this morning here in HH. There were three families who had brought their young children in as they were having breathing difficulties. Sad to see this down here, and it is one reason we took a break from our condo in BKK. Hoping it rains tonight as it's cloudy but I doubt it.

Take her and both of your Marriage certificates, hers and yours, to the local Amphur where you were married. Sign the backs in the presence of the head honcho and both sign the sheet indication it is an amicable divorce and nothing is wanted by either party except the divorce. They will take the original marriage certs void them out in the system and issue new certificates indicating you are divorced.

Adding ice cubes to it as well, right?
