  1. I’m in the same boat…. I’ve not yet heard from my LMG broker yet, tho. I’m hoping to go for renewal before the end of August…my e of s expires on Oct 1 so I can go for it around August 15….

    Large size shoe

I wear a size 13, too. I’ve lived here for ten years and in that time I saw one pair of trainers in a sports store in my size. I’ve recently seen my size at decathlon but they were too narrow. I buy on Amazon and have them shipped….import duty included in price… I’ve long since given up after searching everywhere in Bangkok and Chiang Mai
  3. I suspect a Monkey-pass will soon be implemented.
  4. Best of luck to you! What a great ending to what was otherwise a bad Covid experience. Congratulaions!
  5. Will they accept insurance from a UK company to meet the requirement?
  6. Perhaps because it was accessing the MasterCard network outside of the country?
  7. I believe that BKK Bank atm cards only work in a BKK Bank atm.
  8. Way to go, boys! Open casinos, lure financially strapped individuals in with dreams of winning it big, while creating more debt and misery within impoverished households. sounds like a winner to me!
  9. Here’s another thought….. Your Thai license (s) can be renewed up to one year after they expire…without penalty. If they’re still “valid” you have some time to sort things out. If it’s been over a year since they expired, consider obtaining an International Drivers license at home before you come here…just to “CYA.” if it’s has been over a year since they expired, well…you’ll have to start over here and get an altogether new license. Hope this helps……
  10. The license folks I am referring to are actually the govt officials at the Chiang Mai Provincial Land Transport office on Hang Dong Road. The office where you get your license. You can get a residence certificate at CM Immigration. It may take some time…. However, you can use a visa agent to get it for you usually on the same day. It may cost you about 1000 baht thru the agent. You’ll probably need at least a TM30 done before you can get a residence certificate, tho. Check with the agent about that, too. Maybe…..just maybe with a capital M….they could do it all at once..(tm-30 and resident certificate…. I’m not sure. where did you get your first Thai license? Does it have a Chiang Mai area address on it? as I and others have said…. We’ve not been asked to verify our address…only bring the residence certificate. You can check with Assist Thai Visa Services in Chiang Mai for more info. They help with licenses. Google them for more info.
  11. ya. We can think of many such IO who should seek alternate employment.
  12. That’s a good question. I recently renewed here in Chiang Mai. I brought a residence certificate, medical certificate, passport and old license. Was the explanation you posted also shown online in Thai language? If so, maybe copy it, post it here and ask for English translation/explanation. The bureaucracies sometimes lose a bit when they translate to English. (The word “present” could be used in this case as an adjective. ) the only “Proof of address” I can think of for foreigners would be a TM-30 slip in my passport…. Or my license which has my address on it. Maybe pop over to the license folks as soon as you arrive here, ahead of your appointment date, and ask them for a list of documents needed. If the doc in question is listed…..ask them what they want to fulfill the requirement. When you find out…kindly post here so we can keep up with this if it’s a new requirement. thanks and good luck!
  13. Ya, good question. What exactly does “fully vaccinated” mean?
  14. …and the drive thru window lane is clearly marked at the entrance to the Immigration office. Quick and easy! Oh….don’t forget…they’re closed between noon and 1:00! Just did mine there three days ago. Took five minutes most of which were spent waiting in my car in line!
  15. That was my experience. Clearly, others’ may vary. Waiting ten minutes to update four passports works out to about 2 and a half minutes each.
  16. Agreed! It is required in Chiang Mai! First hand knowledge here. In Chiang Mai go to the Immigration office near the airport, to the small building behind the drive-up “90 day report” window, walk in and tell them you want to update your TM-30. It takes about three minutes. Have your old Tm30 slip with your passport.
  17. Brings the chorus lyrics from a Pete Seeger song to mind…. ”When will they ever learn, when will they ever learn!” Wear a 100,000 baht gold chain around your neck for everyone to see in Pattaya and NOT expect it to be yanked away is naïve. No?
  18. Holy mackerel! I have TOT fiber in Chiang Mai with excellent service, 500mbs up and down. We pay a tad over 500 baht per month including vat. Wondering if you pay tot direction or do you have to pay the monthly fee to your condo. 1500 baht seems way too high. Who adds the farang surcharge you speak about?
  19. Is anyone surprised about how messed up this is? That the powers that be didn’t think it through? Really?? If you are surprised that it’s a cluster (mess) then I want what *you're smoking!
  20. I found a lot of listings for shops when I googled “the dispensary Rama 4” too many to mention here! I was surprised, actually!!
