  1. What is your underlying visa? Is it a non-oa or a non-o?
  2. You may have to google info about each country you’re interested in visiting.
  3. lets start this off by asking what type of Non-immigrant visa you hold and if you are currently in Thailand.
  4. My question was not related to Monkeypox. It was related to the incidence of close contacts. But while were on the subject here's a quote you might be interested in: "It's also important that this outbreak not cause stigma toward the LGBTQ community, according to the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS. It warned that some reporting and commentary on monkeypox has used language and imagery that reinforce stereotypes and exacerbate stigma. "Experience shows that stigmatizing rhetoric can quickly disable evidence-based response by stoking cycles of fear, driving people away from health services, impeding efforts to identify cases, and encouraging ineffective, punitive measures. We appreciate the LGBTI community for having led the way on raising awareness -- and we reiterate that this disease can affect anyone," UNAIDS Deputy Executive Director Matthew Kavanagh said in a statement Monday. The WHO also cautioned people not to use the disease as a way to negatively label any particular community. "There's a lot of stigma and discrimination that surrounds many diseases, and I think the key thing we need to look out for is, as WHO, to work with our partners in communities and elsewhere to make sure that the messaging is correct. So while we are seeing some cases among men who have sex with men, this is not a gay disease," WHO adviser Andy Seale said Monday."
  5. so Scott, let me see if I understand your reasoning. You're saying that members of the LGBTQ+ community demonstrate a higher incidence of direct contact with other individuals, and....as you intimate they have a higher rate of sexual contact, LGBTQ+ people will experience a higher level of infection rates? Is that what you're proclaiming?
  6. what makes you think that LGBTQ+ individuals experience a higher frequency of direct contact with other individuals as compared to other segments of the population?
  7. Please quantify the increased frequency of close contact between LGBTQ+ individuals and its correlation to that of other segments of the population.
  8. Why would lgbtq+ individuals be at higher risk
  9. So….will the Thailand Pass requirement now be reinstated for Thai nationals?
  10. Hi. Yes. Exactly the same problem as described
  11. Ya, it’s not like humans are encroaching on their habitat tho…..
  12. I had a similar problem not too long ago. Netflix guy had no idea but…..he did suggest resetting my internet router. I did that. ( turn it off for five minutes then turn it back on). When I started Netflix again on the tv everything was back. Go figure! Not sure why it worked but it did. give it a try.
  13. If you have anything in writing from the hotel, e.g. text message or email, I would send it off to the credit card company with your request for a trace on the refund or a chargeback/voiding of the original charge.
  14. A point of interest for U.S. citizens now in Thailand needing a passport renewal…….. Last Thursday I received my new passport via Thai Post EMS from the US Embassy in Bangkok. The processing time from the day I dropped the application off at DHL in Chiang Mai until the new one arrived was exactly three weeks. The Embassy website notes that the processing time is 2-3 weeks. If you’re in Thailand and needing a new USA passport anytime in the near future….maybe apply for it now.
  15. A heat pump dryer works like an air conditioner in reverse….. The compressor is run by electricity and it uses inverter technology
  16. I bought a Siemens heat pump dryer with a self cleaning condenser four years ago. It works great. It draws only 1000 watts so is quite efficient when compared to others that draw upwards of 2400 watts. If you want more info feels free to send me a messsge. I’ll get you the model number and a picture. It wasn’t cheap but the cost to run more than makes up for the higher price
  17. How much did you have to pay for the required insurance?
  18. Chiang Mai Immigration requires an update to existing tm30 when arriving back into the country. It takes five minutes to do it. One goes in and requests “an update”
  19. Chiang Mai immigration requires it. My O-A was issued in 2013 and I have to bring proof of insurance every year.
  20. Last week when in a local TOPS store in a mall I witnessed an English speaking Thai national politely ask a farang woman who was holding a mask on her arm why she was not wearing it on her face, “Excuse me…..why aren’t you wearing your mask on your face?” The westerner immediately set in to an argument with the statement, “ I’m not a sheep like the rest of you people!” The Thai notified a store security person who approached the woman and asked her to put the mask on. Moments later the the woman walked up to the Thai national who was now in the checkout lane and began to verbally accost him. The Thai gave back exactly what he was handed and within thirty seconds the outbursts on both sides became very loud and filled with expletives. Everyone within earshot…..and that was all who were within a fifteen meter radius…..stopped to watch and listen. I was by this time in the next lane of cashiers with a front row seat. Everyone, except this woman, was wearing a mask and the looks in their eyes was universally one of shock and in some cases wide eyed fear. The Thai was unrelenting. The farang woman stirred herself into a wild eyed, mouth frothing frenzy. It wasn’t pretty. The disturbance eventually ended with the store mananger escorting the farang woman out of the store. This proved to be an excellently example of “farang arrogance” and I was truly embarrassed ????.
  21. Arrived into Thailand on April 1 by air. Pre departure, the airline checked insurance certificate, vaccine record, hotel reservation (yes, the actually asked for the confirmation of hotel/PCR test being prepaid demanding to see a copy of the confirmation), but……they never asked to see the Thailand pass. So, agreeing with others here that the Thai Pass is a redundant waste of time. Upon arrival at Swampy someone did ask to see the pass before I got to immigration. Immigration asked for nothing more than my Tm6 and passport.
  22. When I returned on a Non O-A I selected “returning to Thailand” as the reason for my visit and I left the exit date blank. My Thai Pass was approved in less than 24 hours. I applied in early February for an April 1 return date.
