  1. Really stupid to walk around exposing valuables, in any country.
  2. All kinds of hats are available for sale everywhere in Thailand.
  3. Agents are in business to make money by helping illegals to circumvent the law. If you're sure that's the way you want to go you will have already seen a number agents recommended by people on here replying to your question. Personally, having first visited Thailand in 1961 and throughout the 1970s, having worked here in the 1980s, and retired here in 1993, I have never to date used an agent for any purpose.
  4. If you are so worried about 40k baht you may want to consider whether or not Thailand is where you really want to stay.
  5. Sounds to me as though you should reconsider your desire to live in Thailand. Given the situation you describe you will be fringe legal, and will face ongoing hassle here.
  6. A rather odd report. I suspect a degree of exaggeration.
  7. Much ado about nothing. It was not criminal conduct to know Epstein, to fly on his aeroplane, or to visit his property. This is a media induced frenzy.
  8. Killing and eating animals is disgustjng.
  9. My Thai wife and I were married in Taiwan in 1990. We have never married in Thailand, an arrangement with which we are both entirely happy and which has produced no drawbacks as yet. However I would be cautious about marrying in the US. If at some point a separation/divorce came about the cost would likely be far greater in the US than in Thailand.
  10. What religion are you referring to ? Buddhism is a philosophy, not a religion. Sadly in Thailand it has morphed into idol worship, with some very strange outcomes. If most Thais are Buddhists, why are they killing and eating animals, but objecting to euthanasia ? Very strange, but as foreigners we have to accept that's the way things are here. We should, however, hold our own when it comes to certain issues relating to our personal lives eg marriage, work and money.
  11. Nongyao was attacked by the very person, her husband, she was caring for. Best wishes for a speedy recovery, and for ongoing protection from such a vile partner.
  12. There may well be more to this story than we are being told. It sounds as though the children are cruel, but there must be a reason all four of them will not help their mother.
  13. In Asia children are expected to contribute to their parents well-being. In the West it is increasingly the other way round.
  14. Yes indeed. Such brave boys in the RTP. Hopefully they will, before long, focus on murder, rape and armed robbery.
  15. Very sorry the cat was killed. RIP little one
  16. Best of luck with that story.
  17. Good for you. Go to PAWS Bangkok. They will identify which of their cats are content to be house based.
  18. I have always done annual extensions to my retirement visa myself, most recently at CW last week. In at 0830, out at 1030 with no hassle.
  19. Thanks for the info. My question, is this easier than turning up in person ? Just did my 1 year extension of my retirement visa at CW. In at 0830 out at 1030 with no hassle.
  20. The reports on this case are incomplete but, in my opinion, it is highly likely the woman was behaving in a spoiled and abusive manner.
  21. Killing and eating animals is disgusting.
  22. Just leave him where he is unless there is some genuinely important reason for him needing to travel.
  23. To be fair I don't think he was 'assaulting' her.
  24. Since 1961 I've not had any problems with bankiing services in Thailand. In the UK, however, I have had many, and ongoing.
  25. Not much to comment on or get excited about. Windscreen washers in cities all over the world tend to be aggressive. They lead a tough life.
