  1. They will be coming here in droves..
  2. We Brits really need to stop moaning. We voted Labour in with a huge majority. For the next 5 years, maybe more, we are going to pay the price. No one to blame but ourselves.
  3. As a boring old man myself I can only think they have nothing better to do. That's assuming their postings are not fake...
  4. Oh dear. I fear my home country, the UK, is heading for deep trouble...
  5. Once again the little man is being punished while the big players are left free. Best to stop the never- ending 'drug wars' and control, regulate and tax.
  6. ....and yet many of us foreigners feel that currently neither our presence nor our money is welcomed in Thai government circles.
  7. Fact is he was born a man and will remain a man no matter what lengths he goes to in order to try to effect a change.
  8. Agreed. The problem is that the jungles are being gradually taken over by people.
  9. No joke. I took hope the elephant is ok after the disgusting way it was being treated.
  10. Not really. I was born in Sutton Coldfield, UK in 1941. During WW2 my father fought in the north Africa campaign and his brother, my uncle, in the Burma campaign. Post-war we had German POWs working for us both on land, and in factories in nearby Birmingham. So no direct experience of Nazi brutality, but contact with both those who commited it and with those who fought against it.
  11. I doubt you are old enough to know what a Nazi is.
  12. You completely missed the point of my question. I will try again. What is the difference between, as you call it, ILLEGAL corruption, and LEGAL corruption ? If this is too difficult for you forget about it. Not important.
  13. Freddy Mercury, the greatest of all time...
  14. Makes sense, although the net zero enthusiasts will be upset.
  15. The elephant was obviously terrified by the appalling way it was being treated. The cruelty inflicted on elephants in Thailand is an utter disgrace.
  16. Living in Thailand/South East Asia, and being very much aware of the growing influence of China throughout the region, I just hope that Trump takes a strong line with Beijing on the future independence of Taiwan, and maintains what has been a close relationship between Thailand and the USA since the end of WW2.
  17. Doubtful. No need for him to 'do Trump'. Most likely Vance will simply use the next 4 years to work on his own appeal to voters, and will stand for President in 2028.
  18. Personally I have always preferred Thailand. Better food. better females, more friendly. more fun.
  19. If you must follow the BBC best to go online, or buy a True TV package with channels 780 and 785.
  20. Cats and dogs are, sadly. eaten in several countries around the world including Haiti.
