  1. Waivers are not automatically given. You were unwise to assume that they were. Personally, from 1962 onwards, I have never ever had any problem with the Thai immigration authority. Given the apparent depth of your anger over this you are right to be considering other countries in which to reside. A word of warning though, if you didn't already know it, immigration authorities are awkward to deal with almost everywhere.
  2. Utterly ridiculous. No mention of the shafting of the winning party after the last election.
  3. If she had fully researched that area before investing time and money in it she would have learned that in pre-covid times it had always been an entertainment district.
  4. Aged 82, every morning an hour split between time on a treadmill, with weights, and stretchng exercises. Much the same each day for over 60 years.
  5. A grand gesture of stupidity more like.
  6. 'A hurricane expert from the university of Miami' is quoted as being behind many of these concerns. Not sure if that attaches authenticity to the foreboding expressed in the article.
  7. Thus report appears to ignore deep concerns about the fragile state of the Thai economy.
  8. The stated intention of the authorities to reduce uncivilized behaviour during Songkran seems to have been dropped.
  9. Amazing Thailand, where sex on a beach attracts far more outrage than murder, thieving and corruption.
  10. RidiIculous. Perfectly reasonable price. Much ado about nothing.
  11. Certainly appears to be much the same as other countries around the world so not remarkable.
  12. Now 82 years old and in good health I have never slept more than 3-4 hours per night, without any apparent ill effects. I wonder if we worry too much about the necessary 8 hours we are told we should have.
  13. I forecast that, unless the British people wake up to the gradual muslim takeover, their country will be governed under sharia law within 30-50 years.
  14. What Palestinian Hamas, operating out of Gaza and backed by Iran and Russia, inflicted on Israel on October 7 was utterly disgusting. Sad but understandable that Israel will, as a result, go to any lengths to eliminate Hamas. Worth noting that not a single Arab country is accepting Palestinian refugees from the current conflict.
  15. Lee Anderson is not an extremist, and it's very difficult to identify any other person in today's Tory party who fits that description.
  16. I know a couple of guys well into their nineties who are more lucid and better informed than many guys in their sixties.
  17. About time. The war on drugs has achieved nothing other than providing highly lucrative jobs for those implementing it.
  18. The court's decision that the cancellation of her UK nationality was legal is correct. I don't, however, agree with the original cancallation which was a publicity stunt to appeal to the baying mob. She is a Brit and should gave been allowed to return to the country of her birth, and to face trial there based on the available evidence.
  19. The race is on for the top job. Someone's out to get him.
  20. It appears to me that the use of mobile 'phones in Thailand is much the same as all over the world. For myself, at 82 years old, I spend a lot if time on my Android when alone, but little or none when in company.
  21. That's because there are lingering doubts that Smirnov's allegations are false. There is also the issue regarding the nature of the Bidens' Ukrainian and Chinese connections. All of which may be of no substance, but should be more thoroughly investigated if only to clear the Bidens of any wrongdoing.
  22. Truss/Kwase made the basic mistake of presenting their low tax economy plan without a budget explaining how it would work, hence the panic in the money markets and the devaluation of the pound. A great shame, because their ideas were sound.
  23. Very sorry to tead about this, and I fully understand their distress. I fear he will not reappear after so long a time.
  24. You need help. See a doctor.
  25. I'm afraid I've yet to find a sensoring system which really works. As all cat lovers know many cats are unhappy if they are not allowed to wander. We just have to hope and pray that they stay safe which they mostly do in my experience, thankfully.
